y r l e w e J Wedding IT’S MORE THAN JUST RINGS! On your wedding day all eyes are on the beautiful rings you and your new husband just exchanged, but other jewelry also comes into play. Brides may opt to wear a piece of heirloom jewelry handed down through generations in their family, or purchase new pieces that someday may be worn by their own children and grandchildren. Wedding jewelry doesn’t have to break the bank, but you should select quality pieces that will stand the test of time. Choose bracelets, necklaces, and earrings that reflect your everyday lifestyle and that you’ll enjoy wearing for many years to come. 4

The tradition began in Ancient Rome, where the flower girl served the bride and groom by carrying bouquets of herbs and sheaves of wheat. Flower girls are the youngest members of the wedding party, generally three to eight years of age. Oftentimes, they are dressed in a similar style to the bride’s gown.

g n i d d e W s u Glamoro ENTERTAINING

SIGNATURE COCKTAIL Your special day can be memorable and easy at the same time. Create a signature cocktail that will satisfy just about everyone and serve in pitchers on each table. By doing this the line will be shorter at the bar and you’ll save money on alcohol. The same is true if you’re hosting a non-alcoholic event. By using antique and etched glass pitchers to serve mocktails, even your most critical relatives will be impressed!

STRAWBERRY COCKTAIL Strawberry Lemonade Vodka Triple Sec NOTE: For mocktails, omit the alcohol Prosecco Sparkling Water Lime Juice

FRESH OFF THE GRILL Grilled anything is the perfect wedding food for both lunch and dinner. If you want something light but still filling, go with shrimp and a side of cous cous. Be careful not to serve heavy foods – keep your guests and your fare light! Another option is tasty grilled blackened scallops atop a bed of spinach. Always provide two choices for your guests. A carb-free option is very popular in these days of keto fasting, and “lean and green” diets!

FOR STARTERS A pretty and delicious salad is the most costeffective starter to a premium meal. Make it colorful and tasty, with a variety of textures. Arugula, strawberries, feta cheese, and pecans is always popular, and it pairs nicely with your signature cocktail!

THE OTHER

n o i t p O e t i Wh

Weddings have evolved past small chapels and vast cathedrals into intimate backyard gatherings, vineyards, and beach ceremonies. A traditional wedding gown with a long train and diaphanous veil may not be the best choice for these outdoor settings, but today’s brides still want to feel beautiful and wear white on their special day.

20

From chic to sophisticated and ultra-glamorous, there are simple, sleek looks that beautifully complement any type of wedding setting. Whether your choice is a simple tea-length dress, a frilly summer frock, or even a wide-leg jumpsuit, there are endless possibilities for every bride to find the perfect “white” attire for her outdoor wedding.

THE “ART OF THE PARTY”

GREEN HYDRANGEAS & WHITE RANUNCULUS

One of the most cherished flowers, hydrangea blossoms grace floral arrangements around the globe. These lush beauties symbolize sincere emotions, gratitude, and deep understanding. Green hydrangea flowers, in particular, symbolize renewal and rebirth. White ranunculus are a staple in high-end flower shops and wedding bouquets. Their tissue-thin petals create a UNIQUE PITCHERS delicate addition to the bolder green hydrangea. Gold, silver, or even patina vases Together, the two are a stark statement to your and pitchers filled with pink peonies, bouquet. green hydrangeas, and accented with shades of bold pink filler flowers create the ultimate vintage look. Ask friends and relatives if you can “borrow” a family heirloom and place a card on the table to give credit to the contributor!

VINTAGE PEONIES The peony represents wealth and honor. It also embodies romance and love, and is regarded as the omen of a happy marriage and good fortune. Amazingly, peony plants can produce flowers up to 100 years! They are an excellent addition to a bi-color ensemble of green and white.

Vintage bouquets of dark and light pink garden roses and draped with wisteria in a tarnished antique urn can be quite lovely. A wisp of green ruscus gives a bouquet balance. These bouquets can accent an intimate candle light ceremony or a formal dinner with ease.
