Where will I study?

This full-time course will be taught at your local centre. Some elements of the course will be delivered in the college’s professional training kitchen, and some will be taught in the classroom. You will use an Internetbased portfolio system to collate evidence for your qualification.

What qualifications do I need to enrol on this course? Potential students should have achieved SVQ Level 1 in Hospitality Services or a similar relevant discipline. However, prospective students with substantial experience of working in a professional hospitality environment will also be considered for entry.

Will I receive a recognised qualification? Yes, upon completing the course you will achieve a nationally recognised certificate at SCQF Level 5.

How can I continue to develop my skills? A natural next step for those students who wish to develop their skills further would be the Hospitality and Leadership SVQ Level 3 course.

Why should I consider a Hospitality Services course? Do you want to study a course which will help develop the skills and knowledge to enable you to pursue a career in the hospitality industry? Do you want to consider, in greater depth, a selection of skill areas within the industry – including reception and customer services – equipping you for a higher level position within a hospitality organisation? Do you want to study for a nationally recognised qualification? If yes, then Hospitality Services SVQ Level 2 is the right course for you.
