Where will I study? The course will be delivered full-time over one year at your local centre. Students will spend four days a week in college with at least one day of each week being operated on a commercial basis.

What qualifications do I need to enrol on this course?

Potential students should have achieved at least four standard grades at Level 3 or above.

Will I receive a recognised qualification?

Yes, upon completing the course you will achieve a National Certificate Group Award at Level 5.

How can I continue to develop my skills?

After successfully completing the course, you may be able to progress to Level 6 Beauty.


Why should I consider a Beauty Care and Make-Up course? Do you want to learn and develop the practical skills required to work at a junior level in a commercial Beauty salon? Do you want to enhance your employability skills and career prospects with a qualification that will prepare you for employment within the Beauty environment? Do you want to work towards an award which will enable you to study further for competence-based qualifications? If yes, then this course may well be the right course for you. This highly practical course will help you not only to learn and develop your skills but also to gain confidence and practical experience in a realistic client-based working environment. It will also encourage students to adopt the principles of best practice, good work behaviour and ethics.


The course will introduce six mandatory units which will include: • Applying Practical Skills • Facial Skin Care • Day Make-up and Corrective MakeUp • Bridal and Evening Make-Up • Selling Skills

You can also choose to study from a choice of five optional units including: • Face Painting • Nail Art - Freehand • Drawing and Colouring Design Skills • Competition Technical Skills • Personal Care and Appearance, Reception Duties and Skills, Skills for Customer Care
