Where will I study?

The full-time course will be taught at your local centre.

What qualifications do I need to enrol on this course?

Potential students require no special academic qualifications for this course. All students will be interviewed individually by the Course Tutor and will need to show a genuine interest in digital media computing – whether in multimedia, business information technology or computer games.

Those students who have achieved NC Digital Media Computing at Level 4 will automatically gain entry to this course.

Will I receive a recognised qualification?

Yes, upon completing the course you will receive the SQA National Certificate at Level 5. You will also achieve a range of additional NQ unit qualifications in areas such as web design, animation and software development. All full-time students will have the opportunity to complete the European Computer Driving Licence.


How can I continue to develop my skills?

A natural next step for those students who wish to continue developing their skills would be Digital Media Computing National Certificate Level 6. This course explores in greater depth the underlying principles and practical applications of Digital Media Computing. Alternatively you may be able to progress immediately to HNC level study in IT, computing or multimedia.

The course will include the following main areas: •

Internet and online communications

Office and personal productivity systems

Computer hardware and systems

Digital media and applications

Numeracy – Level 4

Communications – Level 4

You will also be able to study further in other areas which may interest you specifically, including web design, digital media, social software, networking or general computing Each individual unit on the course may be studied on a part-time basis.
