Why should I consider an NC Early Education and Childcare course? Do you want to improve your knowledge and skills in early education and childcare? Taught over one year full-time, this course is designed to equip you with the basic theoretical and practical skills required for progression within the childcare industry. The course will be very practical in nature and will provide students with placements which will allow them to gain hands-on experience in the workplace and underpin theoretical learning.
The course aims to: • Provide an insight into the many factors affecting a child’s health and development • Increase awareness of the importance of a holistic approach to health • Improve understanding of effective early education and childcare provision • Increase awareness of cultural diversity within society • Develop awareness of the range of professional agencies involved in the development and health of children up to the age of 12 and their individual roles • Develop the student’s core skills in communication, numeracy and information technology

What qualifications do I need to enrol on this course?
Potential students will require four Standard Grades (minimum Level 3 pass) which must include English. Mature students will be considered based on relevant work experience and interview.
