With summer just around the corner, your wardrobe may look a little drab and ready for a refresh. Follow these five easy steps to overhaul your wardrobe and put your best, most stylish, foot forward this season.

Figure out what your ‘neutral’ colours are. You might find you always gravitate to certain shades of blue, grey, whites, black or earthy colours for example. These neutrals are the glue that holds all the other pieces of your wardrobe together. Accent colours are the fun that you bring together with your neutrals; so, hold true to what works for you to ensure you always look your best. Pull out your favourite pieces that you always receive compliments on – these are your go-to pieces because they fit well and always make you feel like a million dollars. When you are on the hunt for new pieces for you wardrobe, going into stores with a fixed idea in your mind about what you want can often end fruitless. Instead, have in your mind a clear idea of what styles suit you, what your neutral colour are and what fun accent colours you’d love to add into the mix. When you pick something up that you like, as yourself “Does this look like it already belongs in my wardrobe?” If the answer is yes, then you’re on the right track. Mix wardrobe staples in your neutrals with your fun seasonal updates. Carve out some time and keep mixing them around to figure out what works together so you never get stuck with ‘nothing to wear’. Play around with shoes and accessories to really make your outfits pop!
