A1: MUSIC throughout this project for inspiration).

It is important that you produce a 'prep' piece of work using a full page in your sketchbook, before attempting the final work/ painting. This will help you practice and refine your final work/idea and can be used to work from during the process of developing your main painting/outcome.

The subject matter of your final painting will be based on a 'response' to a piece or pieces of music. While listening to music, you should take notes on how the music makes you feel, illustrate these feelings/emotions with a variety of shapes, patterns and lines that may come to mind, and use colours which reflect mood and atmosphere.

The final painting should look 'Abstract' and 'Expressive'. It should be your own composition of line, shape and colour in direct response to an item of music that you choose.
