A3: Mash­Up Overview: ●

During this is assignment you are tasked to create a ‘Mash­Up’ combining your skills with the bamboo tablets, your new knowledge of photography and the image manipulation software Photoshop.

You will be studying the work of Dryden Goodwin a contemporary photographer.

To be successful in this assignment, you should recall and use methods and skills learnt during previous lessons.

There are 3 tasks required from you to complete this assignment: 1 Choose a subject that you wish to use for your portrait photography. 2 Take and edit a series of portrait photographs. 3 Post/blog about your work.

Task: 1 ●

Find/choose a suitable ‘subject’ to use for your work. You will have the opportunity to photograph in lessons; you can either photograph a peer or choose to create a series of self­portraits. You may wish to develop your skills further by photographing outside of lessons and explore a variety of backdrops and different locations for your portraiture shoot.

Task: 2 ● Import your photographs straight from the camera into the iPhoto. Copy all of your images into your home area. ● Create a contact sheet and screenshot your photographs to post on your blog. ● With your new knowledge of photography and your teacher’s guidance, select your strongest 3 images to edit in Photoshop. ● Explore the image manipulation tools in Photoshop to edit your images to emulate the style of Dryden Goodwin ● Use the bamboo graphics tablet to add a new layer to your work and add new meaning. – Consider the impact of the lines you make and how they affect your portrait.

● Consider your use of colour and the specialist tools you choose to use with the drawing tablet to add detail to your portraits.

Task: 3 ● When you have completed your photograph, export it as both a Photoshop file and a JPEG image and save them to your home/network area.

A3: Mash­Up Be sure to ‘Blog’ about your work.... Use your blog as a type of ‘diary’ to record your progress. Add/write new posts for (at least) the following things: 1 Which ‘Method’ of digital art did you choose to use for this assignment, and explain ‘why’ you chose

this method. 2 What is the ‘subject/content’ of your work/painting? Explain why you chosen to make your work using

your chosen ‘subject/content’. 3 WHAT did you find ‘challenging’ about your work? 4 WHAT did you find ‘rewarding’ about your work? 5 List any new skills and/or techniques that you discovered. 6 Upload a copy of your work and explain what it is, how you made it. ● For each of the items listed (above) write a new POST for each. ● Ensure that you assign CATEGORIES (for example – A2: Mash­Up, iArt, Surrealists) ● Ensure that you add TAGS (for example ­ digital,painting,photo,)
