Mari Blomroos-Heininen mari_heininen@hotmail.com

The northern world of ours is a world of all exposing light and strong colours, but also a world of concentrated and heavy darkness, the polar night. It is a realm of silent shadows ceding into twilight and a misty environment of soft, plain shades. I have born into and grown in a culture produced by this northern climate and its people, and I reflect this as an individual and as an artist. It is important for me to feel myself connected to the continuum of past, present and future. The way in which I live and how I see the world, builds my own truth and my own relation with life. I paint empirically and emotionally, portraying encounters with nature and other strong phenomena of life. The journey of being human feels sometimes long, and sometimes shorter. Allthough, what is part of the journey and what part of the journey maker's imagination...

Marie Sonninen

marie.sonninen@gmail.com I observe life surrounding me. Faces are often the subject of my paintings, through which I interpret the world. I try to incorporate individuals' inner world and a small moment of their everyday life into my creations. Different feelings and stories come to life on the canvas, through brush strokes and colors. I watch the colors and subjects play on top of my paintings. Nature and animals also tend to find their way on to my canvas. Many states of life reflect on the human mind, which then appears as a different facial expression. My paintings awaken emotions. I give the observer space for their own interpretations. I often paint with oil colors, and different techniques offer creative possibilities. Art moves me to new adventures.

Ulla Kajava All my senses open I experience feelings, colors, scents as well as sounds, people and animals, landscapes and items and lights of a visible reality. The experienced reality transforms within me through my emotions into *abstract, colorful painting. Something I have seen or a topic in some other way experienced will stay in my mind and strives itself into a painting through my hand and my paintbrush. I wish that you will stop for a moment and are able to find the things that fascinates you and are meaningful to yourself with the help of your imagination from these abstract paintings.

Anne London

www.aelondonstudio.com A.E. London was just nine years old when she saw the movie "Born Free,” and nineteen when two lionesses playfully pinned her to a wall at actress Tippi Hedren's Shambala Wildlife Preserve. These two events left a powerful and lasting impression. After graduating from art school, Anne never doubted her calling as a self-described, "frustrated zoologist who paints and draws." Utilizing renaissance techniques, Anne applies four decades of studying anatomy, attending animal surgeries and observing natural behaviors in the wild, to create art that captures the true spirit, physical detail, and emotional depth of our planet’s endangered species. As a signature member of The Society of Animal Artists, she has used her evocative and empathetic artwork to win numerous international awards and helped raise substantial funds for conservation organizations, field research, and anti-poaching units across Africa. Her work has been showcased in international print and television media and used to bring attention to the plight of threatened species on our planet. For Anne, the culmination of 40 years of tireless conservation efforts was founding her thriving non-profit, ARTS FOR ANIMALS, which reaches thousands of children around the world, "connecting creativity with conservation.” Anne’s work can be found internationally in prestigious private and corporate collections ranging from the office of the President of Botswana to the inside of a memorable San Bushman’s grass hut. She resides in New Orleans with her noted marine conservationist husband, Jim Hart. More information about Ann's passions can be found at www. aelondonstudio.com.

Adriana Soares

Expressionist by Nature

Art has always been present in her life as poetry and music, but it was in fine arts that she discovered her best way of expressing her view of the world and of herself. For Adriana, art is freedom and must be done with feeling and passion. She lives the moment of creation in all its intensity and yet one can perceive the sensibility in her works. Both sensitivity and color are allied in the composition of her work. Adriana Soares is already an artist who has been awarded national and international prizes. Her art, like her life, is not linear, for there are breaks, beginnings and transformations.

Angela Valdrighi Brazilian, born in Piracicaba, state of São Paulo, had contact with fields and forests, when she discovered her passion for nature, mainly plants - which are her sources of inspiration. In her walks, she always observes beautiful and organic shapes, trying to replicate them in her art. Fascinated by the wind's melody shaking branches and leaves of trees and by the sound of dry branches hitting the ground, she creates the movement of her pieces. She uses high temperature porcelain that is burnt at around 1300°C after being thrown and carved. Golden paint is used to highlight details.

Carmen Lucia Backes Brazilian Decorative Artist

Twenty-one years of Decorative Art Teacher Career. Works in the City of Dois IrmĂŁos, Rio Grande do Sul, teaching the community how to express themselves through painting. The work ARARAS AZUIS (BLUE MACAWS) was chosen for the symbolism that a Guarani folk tale carries. In the tale, an Indian falls in love with the daughter of an Indian Chief and asks the Paje of the tribe to cast a spell on them to stay together forever. The Paje asks them to bring a pair of blue macaws. So they did, and the Paje asked them to bind the feet of the birds to each other. Soon they began to struggle and smack. The Paje taught the young couple to let go the birds because only free and by flying together do they conquer happiness. The macaws are a symbol of fidelity; they remain together for life.

As to painting, she uses acrylic paint because of its practicality and fast drying. In the 80s, she was a student of professor DuĂlio. At that time he used a lot of pencils, pastels and oil paint; it was when he began to make deconstructions. The works were multicolored, made of chalk or pastel, then received a layer of ink and were scraped. These works evolved to the Deconstruction of Patterns, which are large screens or multicolored panels, with chromatic tension effects. The numerous geometric shapes are painted with similar colors, complements and nuances, bringing an energetic and vibrant effect to the paintings.

Celau The artist Celau has always been passionate about all types of arts. He lived his life alongside family artists from other areas, and this fascinated him about artistic life. Celau is a self-taught artist who started painting 15 years ago...his initiation to painting only lasted a year, because living in a small city in Bahia, it was difficult to publicize his work; this left him without any stimulus thus he stopped painting. After 13 years, Celau is back to painting and now to screens...with great inspiration by Pop Art, influenced by Andy Warhol, Basquiat, among other pop icons. Celau's paintings draw attention to vibrant colors and harmonious combination of colors. The artist stands out mainly for the firm trait, where everything is required to be very straight; and also for its abstract pulses that please the eyes and transmit joy.

Marilene de Oliveira Bernardo was born in the city of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil. At the age of eighteen she went to Rio de Janeiro, where she became involved with the art world. But it was in Ouro Preto, from 1998 on, that she has been dedicating herself wholly to painting, falling in love with colors and shapes. Self-taught, she feels free to mix her colors and complete each work only through the look of the spectator. Her work is quite playful and, at the same time, has great seriousness. Each work is unique as each look is unique, even if you look twenty times.

Mariane Nobre My oil paintings on canvas refer to the Brazilian culture and to the Pantanal in Mato Grosso. They bring out all of the kindness and beauty of the traditional women from Pantanal, with typical birds of the region, portraying the indigenous peoples from Amazon and showing them as a symbol for Brazilian nationality. The paintings are focused on different subjects such as the preservation of the environment; Brazil as a source of great inspiration, mainly for the abundance of culture, fauna and flora. I am self-taught, passionate about art since childhood; I always have the human figure in my paintings and like to represent women’s strength and beauty in my canvases. I think it's wonderful how we can express ourselves through art in fullness, it is in there that I can reveal myself as a person and as an artist. Having the opportunity to show my artwork in prestigious places is something inspiring and rewarding.

Betina Samaia

www.betinasamaia.com.br Night is the perfect metaphor for art – in there lies my fascination with it. Art is the biggest mystery. The more we know about it the less we know. By lightening details of night’s vastness I try to expose its secrets. Night is ambiguous, unfathomable. But it also reveals the infinite, the shadows, the stars and the far away lights of town. When your eyes get accustomed to darkness it vanishes revealing night’s simplicity - and impossible complexity. By revealing night’s delicate silence, the fog hiding the dormant secrets of the unconscious dissipates into a breath of light.

Fernando Bianchi FERNANDO BIANCHI, A DIFFERENT LOOK ON THE WORLD Photographer blending innovative technique and sensitivity to capture unique images, the Brazilian Fernando Bianchi, 49 years old, is today one of the biggest names in art photography. Known internationally for his privileged look, he seeks in every picture something amazing and that, when revealed, shows nuances that before went unnoticed. Be it in his photos, of even geometric nature, every detail is important and brings out an incomparable artist. Bianchi is a professional photographer since 1990. He manages to capture the essence of nature to perfection through the symbols of semiotics. A constant element in his photographs is the special revelation digital technique developed by him five years ago: the "High Revelation" that transforms the photograph into something unique, a true work of art. With exhibitions in London, Barcelona, Paris, Portugal, Italy, United States and Brazil, he was chosen in 2016 by Jaguar to show his works in the flagship store of the brand in Brazil. In addition to photographer, Fernando Bianchi is also an award winning director of advertising films since 1996.

Sergio Chvaicer Shapes and light have accompanied me since I was 11 years old when I started photography. In nature or in the studio my eyes see the light that defines the shapes. Forms that perpetuate themselves in photography, thrilled... telling stories without words. I was born in 1953, photographer for the past 53 years, and I say that any instrument of capturing images separates by the photographer's vision a piece of the world to appreciate and to eternalize.

Carla Senna Carla Senna is Brazilian, born in Araxรก, Minas Gerais state. She is a self-taught painter that works with mixed technique, mainly with acrylic. Since her adolescence she is a lover of painting, but it was after she moved to Tiradentes, a historical city of Minas Gerais, that she started working exclusively with this kind of art. She enjoys painting canvases, but sometimes also uses demolition wood, material available in the region of Tiradentes that she transforms into decorative panels and gives new life to the wood that was once discarded. Carla does not cling to a single style, but prefers figurative art using multicolored palette, because it is in vibrant colors that she expresses the joy of living, painting and being able to color the world with her art.

Cuscua

Cristina Pignatari Cuscua was born in SĂŁo Paulo and since her childhood she shares an interest for art. A great part of her story was lived in Italy where she was able to enrich her cultural baggage even more with the country's artistic influence. Her first work appeared in 2005. Self-taught, she uses a mixed technique to paint. In a genuine and unplanned manner, Cuscua paints "with her soul." The paintings that were once limited to a small corridor and a tiny room, now have contributed to successful exhibitions: "Rompante do meu ser" (December, 2016), first personal show of Cuscua, at Dalmau Studio; "SĂŁo Paulo inspires art" (January, 2017), at the Art Lab Gallery; "Every Expression" (March, 2017), at the Art Lab Gallery; "Love Inspires" (June, 2017) at the Inn Gallery; "Brazilian Art in the Contemporaneity" (June, 2017), collective exhibition and book launch at Inn Gallery; Collective exhibition "In Art" with tribute to Manabu Mabe, (August, 2017); "Brazil and it's Contemporary Art" (September, 2017), at the Ars Longa Gallery in Helsinki, Finland. In addition to benevolent auctions and decorative samples, Cuscua's works are currently in Brazil, USA and Europe. Always inspired by music and personal experiences, every piece created has a strong rhythm and flow that invites the observer to look deep into himself. Cuscua finds her work the perfect place to strip her soul and allow her deepest feelings to overflow.

Rogério Mariano

rmmariano@gmail.com www.facebook.com/rogeriomarianoarte Rogério Mariano’s works are composed by informal abstraction paintings presenting shades of a wide range of color combinations, distributed on canvas in a spontaneous, almost insensible way. The meaning of the painting thus created is supposed to be not only in the canvas, but also in elements of an external reality completed by the eye of the spectator. The artist’s action painting technique is materialized in scratches in the painting caused by the dragging of several objects used for painting the canvas, such as a paintbrush, a spatula, a squeegee, among others, creating some kind of glaze or certain monotype effect, defining recurring patterns and colorful schemes, enabling the sudden appearance of areas between different color fields, recognizable amid the abstract source of the artwork, with no previous schemes.

Gustavo Kuklinski Gustavo Kuklinski was born in 1991, in Rio de Janeiro. He started his artistic life when eight years old, with encouragement and support from his entire family. In these early years, the artist worked an absolutely fluent language with his watercolor brushes. A few years later, math reasoning of programming codes began to occupy his mind. Gustavo started his undergraduate studies as Systems Analyst until he began to understand that art and mathematics at some point would merge. Nowadays he devotes himself entirely to the production of his art, often twofold, transiting through tortuous repetitions in contours that could be decoded by the most attentive; or exploring universes of geometric and abstract colors, or even in a sophisticated way traspassing simple and fluid forms as in his early years of art.

Emerson de Paula Emerson Alves de Paula, a self-taught plastic artist, Brazilian born in the state of Minas Gerais, lived, since childhood, in contact with nature, which directly influenced his work. In 1986, he worked in a prestigious jewelry company, modeling and producing jewelry, getting to know different types of metals, their welding, finishing and fusions. In 1986, he worked as a trainee in a prestigious jewelry company, modeling and producing jewelry, knowing different types of metals, their welds, finishes and mergers. Emerson turned professional four years later. In 2005, he inaugurated his modeling studio and in 2010, as a designer, he launched his own jewelry line. His techniques and knowledge about metals added to the love of nature have grown an unceasing desire to develop new forms, which, in 2013, gave rise to the artist's first sculpture. "Emerson de Paula", signature name of his works, debuted in the world of the Arts in May of 2014, in a Collective Exhibition "Meeting of the Arts", held in Belo Horizonte / MG, where his works were accepted with great admiration by visitors and art critics. In July 2015, one of his works entitled "The Centaur horse" was awarded 2nd place in the "l Show Cultural Institute Exodus and Imperial Award" held in the city of Petrรณpolis, Rio de Janeiro. In September 2015, the same work, he was awarded the prize of best work of the "V Salon of Visual Arts and Literature ABD" (Brazilian Association of Design and Visual Arts) in Petrรณpolis, Rio. In his career, Emerson de Paula has sought to express his feelings and emotions through his sculptures and jewels, developed with a diversity of techniques that satisfy both his personal pursuit and those who observe his art.

In this work entitled "Incomplete", the artist dives between brass and copper wires to draw the threads of life that unites us to the world around us. We live, thus, in a network of threads that connect us to people, situations, ideas, fears, memories and hopes. This bond can be very pleasurable in certain situations, as well as very painful in others. In these connections we often feel as if we have lost a part of us. It is necessary to "pull the thread back", rescuing what has been lost. Get back to being whole!

Nightmare 57 x 57 x 10 cm Mixed technique - Sculpture on canvas In this work entitled "Nightmare" the artist depicts the unpleasant experiences lived throughout life Nightmares are nothing more than bad dreams that arouse feelings of fear, anguish, sadness and anger. These sensations are brought to light by the artist in the strong colors of the work, in the stormy movement represented in the canvas background texture and by the position of the individual who gives us the sensation of not being able to bear the weight of the misadventures of life.

Lila The Expressionist movement historically had the proposal of showing a personal and intuitive art, where the artist's inner vision prevailed, free to subjectively express nature and the human being. In this sense and in view of the diversity of investigations that it encompasses, we can say that this form of artistic making predates the German movement and continues today, perennial, as the creative force in many great names in contemporary art, unlike other cycles, restricted to their time / spaces. This is confirmed, both in the sculptural work of Lila and in her canvases - of great pictorial impact and which bring her vision that there are varied universes, formed by antagonistic energies. In this phase, entitled "Dimensions", the artist presents the world as a mirror, where plans of "light and not light", in strong signature, quote the human from the viewpoint that the response to our attitudes is an eternal becoming. Infinitely, out and into our existence.

The pieces of Pamela Munhoz (artistic name) are inspired by the millennial circus art, that goes from the magical world that the spectators see on the circus, to love, strength, art and the dream of the artist that lives this tradition since she was 8 years old, so, she can bring a little bit of how it was and still is in the world behind curtains and on stage. The pieces are memories and observations of the artists’ movements and body dexterity - artists with whom Pamela has worked and admired - or even of her own body movements. The painter likes to portray and explore the expressions and feelings that those artists are able to transmit. Being self-taught, Pamela Munhoz started at arts just after she suffered an accident on the stage of a circus. As she liked to paint since a child, she decided to explore the world of colors and paints where she can show through the pieces her love for the arts, evoking the feeling of curiosity in the spectators. The artist has already won competitions of arts in São Paulo and her works have been shown in expositions in Brasil and abroad.

"My admiration for nature’s creations and love of artistic expression create a need in me to paint. My wish is for each painting to capture the freedom and vitality of nature in unexpected ways. Color, light, movement, and the brief spaces of silent moments are all dynamic elements I find in nature. Therefore, I work to incorporate each of those components in a way that appears as if one has arrived at a moment in nature where all the elements have come together and time stood still for a breath." Sarah Janece Garcia is an artist in Dallas, Texas. She works primarily in watercolor to create unique nature inspired paintings. Sarah’s work is influenced by her passion for art, attraction to color, and love for nature’s beauty. The energetic movements in her organic abstractions, along with vivid colors and a focus on the intricate details of natural elements allow her work to capture nature in both literal and abstract ways. Sarah’s paintings have been showcased at various group exhibitions throughout the United States, including being selected as a finalist of the Hunting Art Prize which is a prestigious annual competition with the most generous annual award in North America. Sarah’s work has won several awards, including having a painting designated as the grand prize winner in an art and design competition hosted by Uncommon Goods. After winning the design challenge, Uncommon Goods chose to offer multiple pieces of her work to their customers. Wilson Teixeira

wilsonpaints@hotmail.com The art of Wilson Teixeira, the artist, seems to be traditional but it’s figurative, descriptive and not usual because of its individuality. The painter created, for sure, a manner, not a MANNERISM, of setting a segment of nature, the animals, with total freedom, present in the use of unreal colors. Touch paintings, inhabited by cocks, chickens, owls, birds and other, the screens invite touching. With smooth surfaces beside others saturated of pigments and textures, the art of Wilson shows a great and unique unit, allied to the quality of making art. Mali Frota Villas Bôas

CRITICIZED BY: Oscar D'Ambrosio www.facebook.com/odambros PhD in Education, Art and History of Culture and Master in Visual Arts, works at Unesp's Communication and Press Office. The art of Arivanio Alves Natural of Quixelô, CE, Arivanio Alves is an artist who illustrates well the genre that many call naif. Leaving aside the question of nomenclature proper, he, self-taught, part of situations of his mental everyday to build a visual work that is an interpretation of the world. What does that mean? Alves, like most popular artists, has in its simplicity its main characteristic. But that does not mean simplism. On the contrary, the way it articulates themes, colors and shapes brings biographical elements and affective memories that raise a very own mental castle. The challenge of knowing and studying popular creators is precisely in understanding how this game takes place. Most of the time, it is not a question of elaborating complex anthropological questions, but rather of exercising our gaze to learn and learn how to do it finds various forms of expression. Arivanio Alves presents a sincerity that makes his art model. Conceptualizing or validating it in the eyes of the learned becomes unnecessary. Your doing crystallizes in the universe of perception. There is a chronicler there, in the sense of living every moment with great power of observation, and a naivete, that allows to live each experience as new and unique. 70

Siomara Almeida I do not think should be classified into a simple and specific scheme the work of Siomara Almeida, so I think we can speak of a astrazionale tension that combines well as a short and utterly interesting view figural on which it is actually alive and visible a controlled gestures with signs / signals where stop - on and off - the modulations blood love / sacrifice, combinations of blue and purple that denote the sensitivity of feeling, those of the green and of yellow thesis to unite the gap that separates from each other. In any case the attitudes of Almeida Siomara towards life will reflect a pictorial personality worthy of full interest, given that everything is clearly visible in harmony concentrated in those jobs of every physical dimension materialized in both landscape drafts, both in the fullness of figures sometimes sensual, with a set fluently led to the conclusion, that the junction nell'inesausto lyrical journey where the intensity meticulous unites extreme sweetness. It 'a path, his, going fast forward but without excess, sail through the sea, creeps into the current Water management, it is quiet in ports and ravines, living in big cities and along - thoughtful and persuasive - autonomous spaces of freedom. The sky is high, as his thought. " Louis Gierut, art critic, in 2014
