I am often moved to paint visually interesting scenes from movies, and am particulaly inspired by the color preferences of indigenous peoples, represented in their clothing, art work, poems, stories. and vocabulary. Canvas is a natural base for my painting, and I have increasingly preferred acrylic colors. They dry quickly and I can implement spontaneous solutions and easily change the direction of the painting. I try to avoid clear, recognizable shapes and trust that the viewers of the painting, themselves, can respond to my color choices and perhaps create their own story while observing the painting. Three-dimensionality and depth perception are not as important to me. On the contrary, I strive to paint stimulating components of a canvas that register easily with the viewer - just as in story, a short sentence can be very effective.

Listening to the sound of a glacier breathing and seeing galaxies dancing in the sky changes you forever. There is no place like planet earth. We are all co-travellers on this beautiful planet - thin threads in the web of life. I find my motives in tales of nature wisdom and stories of past times. I look for hopeful achievements in news and literature and everyday life. I am fascinated by Biomimicry, to learn from the strategies found in nature. I try to visualise these stories and form them with my hands in clay - the most living of all materials. If thoughts are energy, is it possible to transfer this energy into an object? If good thoughts attract good things in life, can good energy baked into a sculpture make a difference? In times of dystopia and failing ecosystems it is important to recognise the beauty and never loose hope in humankind. The native story of Seven Generations is more needed than ever.

The process of making art is incredibly private, intimate and secret: in no time it takes you high - like a love affair - but when you try to control or master it, soon enough it knocks you down on your knees. It forces you to stay humble and present, sincere and open, over and over again. And sometimes, in its quiet spaciousness, you might float, no need to be elsewhere.

For over 40 years, my paintings have been deeply influenced by my experiences in nature. After my studies at the Helsinki School of Art and Design, I developed a fondness for landscape oil painting, both in realism and impressionism. Since then, I have explored a wide range of artistic materials and techniques, from watercolor to video installations. Today, I am particularly captivated by the lightness and delicate, peaceful nuances of colors.
In my childhood, I lived in the countryside surrounded by domestic animals. Now, I closely observe the lives of dogs, and I find them to be much like humans, with their strong emotions, intelligence, and distinct personalities. I recognize unique skills and strengths across the entire animal kingdom - each species holds its own treasures. For instance, the polar bear is a powerful creature perfectly adapted to the snowy white wilderness.
As an artist, I am also intrigued by how the theme of animals can be interpreted through human fantasy and symbolism, emphasizing that humans, animals, and nature are all interconnected, sharing this universal journey together.

I was born in Helsinki, Finland. As a visual artist I have a large working field ranging from painting, sculpture and installations to photo. My interest focuses on all kinds of relations, inter-individual and those between humans and environment. I have a passion for color which is like music for me. In 2013, for my contributions to the visual art field, I was awarded a full-grant as life-long State Pension Artist.
Claudia Sperb
I've done a lot of courses and postgraduate studies in art. I graduated in visual arts in 1991 (FEEVALE / Novo Hamburgo/RS-Brazil). During my major I learned the woodcut technique and since then I've been expressing myself through it.
My first works consisted of geometric abstracts. After I came back from India, I started with serpents. Today I have a mosaic park open to the public containing various works by other artists and other techniques which is called Caminho das Serpentes Encantadas (“The Path of the Enchanted Serpents” - @caminhodasserpentesoficial). It is located at the beginning of the Atlantic Forest in the Serra Gaúcha (south of Brazil), and it was created with the intention of raising awareness through art and nature.
Following this, I began to create the serpent garden. I consider my works as being original and creative, because they come from my imagination, once I learned from my grandmother, who was a florist and a poet, that it was the serpents that belched flowers. Currently, I make flowers of large dimensions (e.g. 200 x 80 cm / matrix).

My name is Joni Ahonen, a 34-year-old visual artist (BFA) and group art therapist, living and working in Vantaa. I create figurative art with fantastical elements, often featuring a strong, predominantly feminine character. Contrasts such as beauty and ugliness, light and darkness, passion and modesty, alternate as themes in my work. In art, I'm interested in exploring my relationship with visual expression and with myself, which has evolved over the years without any specific plan. In my younger years, art was a way for me to be heard and seen. Nowadays, art is purely a source of enjoyment for me, a way to express myself and explore new themes. Currently, I am interested in armor and the emotions hidden beneath it.
Lenny Lopes
Lenny Lopes is a Brazilian artist who lives and works in London.
Her abstract works with bright colors are made in acrylic on canvas. Lenny uses different techniques in her art, expressing herself in large formats. She uses different tools, including different types and sizes of spatulas, frames and with the support of a turntable, she lets herself be carried away by the psychedelic, illusionistic and surreal form that she calls mixed media combined with mixed techniques.
She says she has a lot of fun developing her unique techniques and is not afraid to make mistakes, because for Lenny even imperfection is beautiful. Through her work, Lenny tries to show the beauty of colors within a contemporary cultural context.
Present in several collective and individual exhibitions in Brazil and internationally. Her works are part of private collections in different countries of the world.
Born in Maranhão and raised in Brasilia. She has lived in several countries, accumulating knowledge of different cultures and, together with her childhood experiences, has expressed in her works her interpretation of life and nature, in a unique style of post-impressionist painting. Lenny studied at the London School of Photography, the British Academy of Photography at the University of Westminster, the London College of Fashion and the Chelsea School.

The Fellow Traveller-mittens include hand puppets. They were born out of concern for children left in the middle of war in Ukraine.
Russia attacked Ukraine in a full scale in 2022. The war news felt like a nightmare. The footage of the refugee flows in the news broadcasts was not a dream but a complete reality. Likewise, pictures of destroyed residential, school and hospital buildings. Stories of people spending days in subway tunnels to protect themselves from bombings went right under the skin.
I came up with an idea that combines warmth and the possibility of play. I made a collection of woolen mittens that serve as both mittens and hand puppets. The gloves are designed in such a way that they can be used in both hands.
The material is wool. Faces of animal characters are made by embroidery and crocheting on the gloves, and the thumb acts as the character's hand.
I have organized numerous crochet workshops where I teach how to crochet mittens. Those who participated in the workshops have organized their own workshops on their own, and this way we can together send a lot of mittens to little Ukrainians in the fall of 2024.
Let's crochet warmth and play!
Maj-Lis Tanner
maj-lis@tanner.fi
Maj-Lis Tanner is a visual artist living in Espoo, Finland, who paints with acrylic on plexiglass and oil on canvas. The shiny plexiglass creates the freedom to detach. The brush with its colors moves on the plexiglass surface as it pleases, and the result is an expressive color saturation with or without figurativeness. Nature has always been close to her and therefore involved in art as a source of inspiration and a central subject, but now more and more people can be found in her works of art and, above all, humor in the expression. Tanner likes to interpret things and events through humor. She makes use of what she has seen or experienced, memories and events, but you may not recognize them from the result. In the Venice exhibition in the fall of 2024, there will be plexiglass works from her, in which the unifying factor is togetherness and joy of life. Tanner has participated in several group and joint exhibitions at home and abroad and held solo exhibitions about once a year in Finland.

I was born a poet and I love dancing. Writing has saved my life several times. And essentially expressing with my body is where I am best. The body in poetry. From this expression, the encounter with theater took place within me, before I even knew what this fascinating and profound art is. Along my path, an overwhelming fascination with cinema also emerged, and I immersed myself in the expanded visual arts. From this affiliation of affection, a frontier art was born, an investigation of hybrid poetic language, which hears each time in which matter-time the work wants to happen the idea, always instigated by the dialogue between art and philosophy, moving through old and new technologies .
My diverse backgrounds are a reflection of this intuitive trajectory of the body-soul: bachelor's degree and degree in Performing Arts (UNIRIO); Social Communication with an emphasis on Cinema (UFF); Philosophy (UFRJ); Videoart (School of Visual Arts/Parque Lage). My love for Nature, which we all are, led me to train as a Designer for Sustainability (Gaia Education and Transition Towns/Brazil). And in the search for sanity, I became a Yoga Instructor (Yoga Alliance); Meditation Facilitator (Brazilian Taoist Society); Reikiana (IOC/ Fiocruz) and many other initiations on a journey that is always in motion.

"Solid and delicate, formed by gravity." "Paint is my thinking medium."
I am deeply passionate about my work as an artist, continuously refining my skills. Paint as a material has captivated me for a long time, leading to a unique, somatic connection with it. This relationship allows me to create something entirely new, rooted in a profound dialogue with the material. The methods come from my nature. I am a contemplator and an observer.
Creative Process:
For me, creation is a patient and organic dialogue with the material, driven by curiosity and a sense of adventure. I surrender to the process, allowing the paint to guide and shape the work. This process is fragile and uncertain, yet immensely rewarding, as the paint flows, mixes, and tells its own story, influenced by natural forces like gravity. Character of the painting is revealed in the process.
Personal Reflection:
My work is deeply contemplative, rooted in a desire for peace and humility. I am committed to creating rather than destroying, guided by a nurturing spirit. My art reflects a search for truth, joy, and gratitude, celebrating the adventure of pure form and harmony.

Minna Herrala visual artist minnaherrala.com
Minna Herrala is a Finnish artist whose creativity stems from an exploring and thoughtful stance on life. Having years of broad experience in the field of painting, she has also created notable works utilising various other mediums, including photography, installations and drawings. Yet, as she says, the medium only works to serve the idea.
Herrala's works are full of symbols and references to the world around us as she perceives it. Human interaction and behaviour, animal rights and commentary on politics and ethics are found in Herrala's works - but recently, above all else - it has been the concept of Empathy that has been under the artist's scrutiny.
”As a visual artist with an inquisitive mind, I am interested in human and animal behaviour and the way we treat each other and nature. Some questions are of utmost importance to me, like why do we value people of different origins differently and, in the same sentence, do we, and how do we, consider the welfare of the nature, the environment and the animals?
Why do we expect gratitude after being sympathetic?”

Some forty years elapsed for me working as a primary school teacher. Thus, a significant number of my creative moments were shared with children and teen-agers. Alongside my work, I travelled on art trips, painted, and, in particular in the last years, immersed myself in the art of sculpture.
My bronze and ceramic sculptures, as well as my paintings, have featured in a number of joined exhibitions at home and abroad. I have also held solo exhibitions both in Finland and abroad. In addition, I was active in art societies for about a decade – as a member, secretary and finally chair for two years. I have been a full-time artist for the last ten years, and am a member of the Artists’ Associations of both Tampere and Jyväskylä in Finland.
My art work is inspired by the home, nature, people, and animals. In my paintings, oil and acrylic paints play the key role, and I like to use colours in plentiful ways. My sculptures, on the other hand, bring about stories. For an artist, time flies. Perhaps that is also why many of my statuettes have acquired wings. Currently, I am very much fascinated by clay and have, therefore, focused especially on ceramic sculpting.
In my statuettes, I have merged, for example, old photographs and glass. A lacy surface gives a light touch even to the heaviest of sculptures. You can learn more about my art on Instagram (@paulakyllikkimikkila) or on my home page where you can also find my CV.

Rose Maiorana
Rose Maiorana is a contemporary visual artist born in the state of Pará, in the Amazon region of Brazil. Her works are an invitation to immerse yourself in a universe of colors and shapes that overflow with life and movement.
Inspired by the revolutionary Pop Art movement, Rose held her first vernissage, "Explosion of Colors", in her hometown, Belém. Owner of a free and observant personality, she contemplated and captured the essence of nature and transformed it into art, giving life to "aFLORAr", her second exhibition. She has not stopped evolving, always exploring new possibilities and, in addition to the exhibitions mentioned, she has participated in group shows, both in Belém and in other cities, such as Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and Brussels (Belgium). In all of them, she has made an impact and won admirers.
Currently, Rose Maiorana is fully involved with her Amazonian heritage in Marajoara, which can be seen in "Liquid Amazon", which brings her artistic and critical bias through what is reverberated in the canvases and portraits. The artist has become a true ambassador of the Amazonian and Marajoara culture, which always enchants and surprises those who know her. Her exhibitions are an invitation to embark on a journey of discovery and contemplation of nature and life in northern Brazil.
This connection with nature is a strong characteristic of her work, which transcends technique and touches the soul.

Sirkka Laakkonen is a Finnish fine art painter. When outdoors she sees trees, flowers, buildings, people. Also indoors there is a lot to see; how light and shadow play their roles and make the world alive. She needs to have a painters´s eyes to see the beaty in all this.
When she has succeeded in her painting she can give the same experience to somebody else. She likes to paint performing arts, art which is understandable for people who look at it. So the painter does not have to explain what lines and colours mean.
After many years working with painting she feels very meek. She feels very lucky that there are people who understand what she is trying to say with her paintings.

I’m member of Oulu Artists Association and Photo North – Nothern Photographic Centre and also belong to Artists’ Association MUU, which is a national association for artists working in non-traditional forms. Artistry is a process. For me, it means a life-long search, getting to know different art forms and them then encountering my being. To me, the artist represents a critical researcher.

...”Bisogna ritornare sui passi già dati, per ripeterli, e per tracciarvi a fianco nuovi cammini.
Bisogna ricominciare il viaggio. Sempre. ”
José Saramago: Il Viaggio in Portogallo
.......” One must return to the old paths, to walk them again, and to draw new footprints beside the old ones. On must start the journey again. Always. "
José Saramago: Journey to Portugal
I feel as if I had followed this text of Saramago during the recent years of my working. I have returned to old drawings, schetches and different pieces and made out of them new combinations.
My two art works in this exhibition - Book of Wanderings I (”Herbarium”), and Book of Wanderings II, consist of pictures of people and objects, detail and symbols, letters, pages from my artists books etc. Things made decades ago, or just a couple of days ago...
Both works include an image of a running girl. It ́s my drawing of a little sculpture from Sparta, which I saw in 1990 at the British Museum. The ”Spartan Girl” has inspired and followed me ever since, and appeares often in my works.

Ulla Remes
Ulla Remes is a colourist. The works are very intensive and loaded with emotion.
Remes often takes starting points for her works from nature and human being's emotions. The paintings are abstract, expressing the landscape of the mind.
Remes has had nearly 35 solo and 50 joint exhibitions during her 25-year career. Her works have been exhibited in America, Japan, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, France, Great Britain, Greece and Estonia. She has worked several periods in various international residencies in Italy, Spain and Greece. Her works can be seen in many public collections.
Ulla Remes also acts as a community artist (for example in European Capital of Culture of Turku and Helsinki Design Jubilee Year projects, the nationwide Church Days in Kouvola and Helsinki Night of the Arts).
In the past year Remes's artist career 25th anniversary celebration exhibition together with photo artist Helena Karhu was in Kuopio Cultural History Museum. In the next few years she will participate in the Master Course of The Cultural Promotion Center.

My current works reflect on the position of children in this violent and chaotic world. Around the world abandoned swings swing away in light as well as shadow as symbols of both dark and sacred memories. These images of empty swings symbolize the lives of our children in the world of today. Will these swings ever be used again or will they remain abandoned?
Ulla-Maija Vaittinen has participated in several group and solo exhibitions. Her techniques vary from works in bronze, graphics, painting, installations, videos, performance and environmental works. Her recent works have been videos and photographic collages. In this exhibition organic colors play an important role in the paintings.
Russian War of Aggression against Ukraine has deeply influenced the contents of my work.
Ulla-Maijas motto is: Art may not change the world, but it can impact people ́s emotions and their way of thinking and arise discussion. Ulla-Maija Vaittinen has studied at Art Industrial High School of Helsinki (now a part of Aalto University of Helsinki). She has taught visual arts in many sectors. She is a member of many Art societies. Ulla-Maija Vaittinen lives and works in Helsinki, Finland.

In photography Brooke Shaden, Sue Bryce, Flora Borsi and Danny Bittencourt act not only as inspiration but as part of my academic training accumulated trough numerous courses and workshops in Brazil and abroad.
My artistic research seeks to expose the female interior as a focus and for I make use of sculpture, paintings and photography as incessant tools for personal expression and demonstration of feelings.
Anneli Hilli
visual artist, printmaker, painter
I have held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Finland and abroad since year 1974. I am a member of Finnish Painters Union, Society of Finnish Graphic Artists, Espoo Visual Artists' Assosiation, Viipuri Artists' Association and Turku Printmakers Assosiation.
My works are in several domestic and foreign collections, e.g. Collections of the State and Parliament of Finland, Amos Anderson Art Museum, The State Museum of Majdanek, Lublin, Poland. The 150th anniversary stamp of the Association of Finnish Artists.
I make my art with different techniques, painting, graphics, three-dimensional form. My works always have a narrative, even if the work is abstract. Colors create feelings and stories. The most important thing in my production is the colorful color palette combined with the rhythmic narrative of the form. I use strong pure colors deliberately even to the limit of good taste to make the colors play. My visual language is semi-abstract. I wonder about the phenomena of nature. I'll make pictures of them. I strive for continuous development and renewal.

Since my childhood, I have always been fascinated by the artistic world and, in 2021, I made the decision to dive head first into this fascinating universe, giving life to CMF Arts. My artistic approach is based on a fusion of techniques that include graffiti, painting and drawing, resulting in completely handmade and absolutely unique works. Through abstract figures and a vibrant palette of colors, each of my creations tells a unique story, infusing modernity and beauty into any environment in which they are displayed.

He developed his artistic and farming practices influenced by a sense of belonging in nature and the healing of the soul. Among the forests of Vale do Ribeira he planted his agroforest with over 70,000 varied plant species, creating a forest of organic fruits and a new home to wildlife.
In the field of art, he has dedicated himself since 2016 to ceramics production, exclusively through the technique of coiling and further experimentations with metal. In the series “Wisdom Lost”, he pays tribute to ancient trees destroyed by man for material gain, and contemplates the wealth of wisdom lost through this destruction. He also delves into themes of past and future civilizations, the mysteries of outer space, celestial bodies and the underground techno scene.

“Sabedoria Perdida” (Wisdom Lost series)
This collection of work stems from my belief that there is advanced consciousness and intelligence in plants. I don’t believe they grow only to serve our species in the forms of tables, doors or wardrobes. Plants are extraordinary and highly evolved organisms in constant communication, and the group of species I investigate in this series are of a unique caliber. Today we know that older trees help younger plants during extreme conditions by sharing nutrients and water via their root networks, healing and nourishing one another. Their roots access the deeper mineral deposits unavailable to smaller plant species. These are then distributed with the forest with every fallen leaf. This series is about the ancient trees of the forest. Certain tree species that, on rare occasions, manage to stand the test of time growing for hundreds, even thousands of years. Saplings that sprouted before Christ was born, enduring wars and natural disasters. During these long periods, a library of knowledge and experience is accumulated and shared with the younger forest dwellers. This series is a tribute to the forest giants destroyed by man, who cut and burn these cathedrals of nature, forever silencing these wise voices. It is a tribute to the wisdom lost over human greed.
“Imbuia” Sabedoria Perdida, 2020
One of the longest living tree species on the planet. In Brazil, one specimen was found with an estimated age of 2700 years. This means its seed was germinating around the time of the destruction of Babylon, circa 700BC. In this work, cutouts form legs pacing in opposite directions like gears of time. The empty spaces form crowns indicating the noble stature of this tree, while the carbon black shows the manner of its death through fire.

Kinkas Caetano
KINKAS' visual universe is steeped in its tropical roots. Nature and the human being within this powerful, omnipresent entity are one of his favourite sources of inspiration. This brings us back to the fundamental questioning of man's place in the world and his impact on his environment. This collision between natural and cultural forces is reflected in recurring elements, in juxtaposition or opposition. The body, for example, is treated as a fragmented, unstructured architecture, like so many signs and symbols to be deciphered, those of original chaos, or of the prospect of final chaos. The artist presents us with another topography of Eros, where the body appears more often than not nurturing, maternal, the supreme symbol of the homage to the living that that unfolds on her canvases. The exuberance, the chromatic and graphic abundance, where his predilection for bold, saturated colors saturated colors, juxtaposed and superimposed in flat tints and instinctive strokes are also the transcription of an enigmatic dream world. All these elements of his pictorial score articulate together in a complex, random harmony. harmony. Using a contemporary language, Kinkas interrogates the timeless music of life, its mystery and fragility.

The work "Caviar Brasil" summarizes aspects of Brazilian cultural identity, highlighting its rich fauna, tropical fruits and Christ the Redeemer as one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. With vibrant colors and elements such as birds, jaguars and colorful favelas, the composition reflects the diversity and vitality of Brazil, uniting nature, culture and urbanity.
Marcella Alves
"Marcella Alves's artistic journey began with a profound understanding of what it means to be a woman and the full acceptance of this identity. In her canvases, she explores the duality of the feminine, revealing that delicacy and aggressiveness coexist harmoniously. Her strokes are bold and intense, contrasting with the soft and delicate forms of girls and women that inhabit her works. Each painting by Marcella is an extension of herself, a visceral reflection of her experiences and emotions. The eyes, which she considers the window to the soul, are the focal point of her creations. They are mirrors of ambiguous feelings, expressing the complexity of the human being in a raw and authentic way. She uses a palette of colors and techniques that reinforce this duality: black and white. The brushstrokes are deliberate and vigorous, imbued with strength, while the more subtle and ethereal details evoke an intrinsic fragility. Her works invite the viewer to dive into this universe of contrasts, where each look reveals a new layer of meaning and emotion."

I’m a visual artist and an art educator. As an artist I journey in everyday life with all my senses wide open to any new things and phenomenon to be observed. I am fascinated by the materials. I approach my work often through the materials. I search the qualities and the mental image of the material and try to obtain the nature of the material in my work. An essential factor to my work is also the space. I am fascinated by the relationship of my art, space around it and the viewer. These three factors always have an effect on each other and they all became important in a situation where the art and the interpretation take shape. I make art in various methods. Including three dimensional elements and space my art work is often installations. Also drawing and printmaking have always been part of my expression.
I live North Karelia, Finland. The place you live in is a major factor to your wellbeing. Here, there is lot of space and you can feel being part of the nature. It has an inevitable effect on my art which often finds its inspiration from the surrounding environment.

Monica Doin
Born in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Monica is a visual artist whose journey reflects a relentless quest for expression and innovation. Starting her artistic career in photography, she quickly fell in love with the endless possibilities that captured images offered. However, it was in 2023 that Monica discovered a new passion: abstract painting. This transition to painting not only expanded her creative repertoire but also provided a new medium to explore and express her deepest feelings. Abstraction, with its ability to transcend literal representation, became a powerful tool for the artist to connect with the essence of her gestures and emotions. Exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro, Osaka, Berlin, and Finland highlight the opportunities her art has had to connect with different audiences and cultural contexts, reflecting the ongoing progress and growth of her artistic career. In February 2024, Monica participated in an artist residency in Finland, an experience that not only broadened her creative horizons but also reinforced her commitment to continuous learning and exploring new forms of expression. Combining technique and intuition, Monica continues to delve into the depth of her emotions and the relationship between her gestures and the world around her. Constantly evolving, her art is a reflection of the deep connection she seeks between her inner self and the universe that surrounds her.

Pia Hovi
Pia Hovi's paintings honor the nature and animals in forests. The power and sensitivity of animals are present at one time and all become entangled as one entirety. The painting includes always the lesson and certain message for us humans. It is created by intuitive fall to become abstract with needed realism. Painting leaves room for viewers own choices and possibility to reflect own inside world through the hidden, elements.
Hovi is using mixed media techniques to be able to create interesting surface structures and various nature nuances. Special focus is on color compositions which aim to ground and peace the viewer's attendance. If something beautiful, gentle, good willing or joy arouse, has the painter achieved her ultimate goal.

Finland
I am a Finnish visual artist living in Helsinki and painting in my own studio. I have painted for nearly forty years and studied in several art schools and art groups. I am member of many art associations. Nowadays I paint mostly in oil and acryl as well tempera on canvas and plywood. Without planning my paintings too tightly in advance, I go step to step towards the end result. Lately I have shifted towards an increasingly abstract way of expression. Nature is important to me, water in particular, being an ever-changing element. I have spent much time sailing in the archipelago, and I love to walk around in the forest as well in cities, as well as to watch everyday beauty around me. The colors mean very much to me and working with them is relaxing. I enjoy listening to music in concerts as well in my studio while painting. I have had tens of solo exhibitions in Finland as well as participated in numerous group exhibitions in Finland as well in Japan, France, Italy, Spain and Germany.

My art is particularly appreciated for its delicate color palette, nature-inspired themes, and strong emotional expression. My paintings often depict nature, such as the sea, forests, flowers, and animals.
My works embody subtle beauty and tranquility, often conveying a meditative atmosphere with soft and harmonious colors. The paintings are often seen as touching, as they frequently evoke a strong sense of peace, longing, or contemplation of life’s fleeting moments.

Allégorie De La Lumière
This painting symbolizes the notion of light and its inherent relationship and contrast with the perception of darkness. It explores this theme from both philosophical and spiritual perspectives, as well as from a material and physical viewpoint. This idea is embodied by the three distinct characters, each representing a complementary and essential aspect of this dynamic.
Yana Purger Brazil
Yana Purger is a jewelry designer, stylist and visual artist from Minas Gerais, resident and domiciled in Rio de Janeiro, the city in which she has established herself and put down roots since she was twenty years old.
With creativity, the disposal of leather from jewelry gained a new destination. Disruptive, Yana gave free rein to her imagination and developed a unique and previously unknown technique to sculpt leather – previously used in the pieces and accessories produced – on canvas.
The high-relief multidimensional aspect of the works reveals the special and pioneering touch of her art. Whether with the most varied objects, whether with light or dense strokes of paint, Yana found, in her work, a special and innovative way of expressing herself and dialoguing with the world.
