My name is Amanda Maria Padovani. Painting for me is a source of personal fulfillment, my most sincere way of expressing my feelings, emotions and what I am feeling at that moment. I always try to demonstrate in my works my sensitivity to the world around us. In the work “hero of a nation”, my inspiration was born from my connection and admiration for the sport of formula one and more specifically for the driver Ayrton Senna, who I greatly admire not only for what he did in his career as a driver, but also for the person he was , especially when it comes to the legacy he left for the Brazilian nation. Each of my canvases has a special meaning and a different message, a different feeling that I try to express. And even thinking about something specific, I am enchanted by the countless forms of interpretations. I think a lot about each color to use and the meaning that each color has, each technique and most importantly, what I actually want to try to demonstrate with it. Each person in my works are people who inspire me, who have a great emotional weight for me and who I demonstrated this love in the form of painting. I will always carry art with me as part of my life, seeking to express myself, communicate and fill it with the color of gratitude.

Born in August 3, 1972, in Santa Rosa, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), Ane began painting and demonstrated interest in photography since a young age with the help of her father, Roque José Hansel, an excellent draftsman and realistic painter, through drawing practices, calligraphy and self-portraits in oil on canvas, mandatory but dealt with fun. In 1987, won the Award for best painting in high school from the State Institute of Education (IEE), in the State of Santa Catarina, due to a painting of a thousand colored leaves. Later, he graduated in Law at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and postgraduated in Strategic Judicial Management at the Judicial Academy of the Judiciary of the State of Santa Catarina (PJSC), nevertheless, never had opportunities and, above all, time to dedicate to her old vocation. Fortunately, years later, she completed a Realistic Drawing Course, Intensive Color Course and practical classes/painting workshops at the “Mundo Paralelo” art school, with techniques based on, from oil to charcoal. Subsequently, she painted live in an art gallery at “MAC” Shopping, from the same State, where she also held, in 2023, an exhibition of paintings by the artist father initially mentioned, in his memory, and, in the same year, she was invited and participated in the European and Latin-American Biennial of Contemporary Art (Edition VI), in Helsinki, Finland; in addition to the present participation in the “International Art Fair Carrousel du Louvre”. Ane can be proclaimed as an artist without prejudice in relation to colors, shapes, styles and artistic schools, with an eclectic ease; a “chameleon” who changes the color of her hair and the style of her works according to her mood, a vivacious appreciator of nature, in order to contemplate such a masterpiece of infinite tones. The feeling of unfinished work, generally felt when finishing a painting, makes her paint several canvases simultaneously. Furthermore, she employs a mostly mpressionist style through outdoor painting sessions, primarily beaches and coastal regions, where she also relishes exploring local rock art on Santa Catarina Island (Florianópolis). Her passion for cats and kittenish leads her to develop a related portfolio, using techniques that prioritize solar lighting and shading, exacerbating the impressionistic and embossing aspect, for example, when applying only the own tubes of painting or abstaining from conventional brushes. Yet, she often tends to value the twodimensional in her paintings, in an attempt to achieve realism or realize the abstract. Moreover, it uses other elements and devices, unusual in the foreground, such as cork stoppers. Regarding the work “José Junior, ‘JJ’”, JJ is the “first-born” cat adopted by the artist’s family, previously stray, found with dirt in his stomach, undergoing surgery and applied physiological saline fluid in his neck. Now, strong and healthy, perhaps a “little cougar”, as he found the love of the family that adopted him; he opens door knobs, presses switches and likes to communicate with delightful and exploitative vocalizations. As for the painting, it is an amalgam of photorealism, impressionism and realism; of a captured image of the cat, however, with the insertion of symbolist elements, including thy wings, which represent the “Holy Spirit Paraclete” instigating the retrieval and rescue of cats and stray animals. Ultimately, it took many days and layers of tones to channel the coat's targeted shade without using black paint. Now, as for the photograph “Butterfly 88”, it’s observed a butterfly with exceptional natural painting, pigmentation of red and golden tones in sunlight, containing a formation that resembles the number 88, interpreted as a sign of good luck, a lucky charm, for eastern ethnicities and creeds by association to infinity, totality, perfection and aspects of mysticism.

Ângela Vielitz

THE AGGRESSORS and THE WIND

The artist Ângela Vielitz uses her authorial photographic record made on trips and journeys through places where she goes as material for her creative process. It consists of moments abstracted by her gaze, which captures reflections, shadows, remains, architectures, transparencies, seas, rivers, skies, trees, among so many other forms of nature, bodies of times and colors crossed by noisy voids that the artist registers to reconstruct into new landscapes. The printed photographs are cut out and readjusted with other materials, such as different fabrics impregnated with earth and ink, threads, and leftover materials. In a gesture of tearing and composing, the artist's work continuously structures volumes, creates forms and gives life to new horizons for her poetic narrative. Her work is always about this stretching that wastes time by adjusting a gesture in order to better express both herself and the world.

As in a chessboard, the works of the series “Os Agressores” [The Aggressors] (which deals with the neglect of nature, constantly attacked and disrespected), oppose the works of the series “O Vento” [The Wind] (which deals with the conscience of mankind, in an effort to save this same nature with sustainable energy), the artist tries to establish a dialogue that plays with the different realities. These processes present a well-built and powerful aesthetic that induces the viewer to pause and reflect, in a movement in the face of the work’s smooth language and strong narrative essence.

Birgit Walander

Birgit Walander, taiteilija Suomesta.

Birgit Walander, artist from Finland. We have four seasons, and each season has its own charm. When I paint landscapes, I want to depict the same motif in all seasons. This winter has been cold with a lot of snow. I was inspired by the snow in our yard. The paintings are partly representational, and some become abstract. I work as a hairdresser and studied to be an artist. I finished in September 2023. I want to paint every day. I have a studio that I walk to through the woods with two dogs for company. I like to paint larger paintings. At the moment, I have mostly painted with color pigments that I mix in Coca Cola, sugar water, or wine. When the painting is finished, I varnish the painting with alkyd varnish. The colors are important, I am happy to mix and paint beautiful colors. Inspiration for paintings comes from what makes me happy, and I become happy from it.

Clara Fleiuss (CMF Arts)

Since my childhood, I have always been enchanted by the artistic world and, in 2021, I made the decision to dive head first into this passionate universe, giving life to CMF Arts. My artistic approach is based on a fusion of techniques that include graphite, painting and drawing, resulting in completely manual and absolutely unique works. Through abstract figures and a vibrant palette of colors, each of my creations tells a unique story, infusing modernity and beauty into any environment in which they are displayed.

I've done a lot of courses and postgraduate studies in art. I've had a degree in visual arts since 1991. FEEVALE - Novo Hamburgo-RS. On the course I learned the woodcut technique and since then I've been expressing myself through it. My first works were abstract geometric. After I came back from India, I started with snakes. Today I even have a mosaic park open to the public, with various works by other artists and other techniques: Caminho das Serpentes Encantados @caminhodasserpentesoficial. It's located at the beginning of the Atlantic Forest and the Serra Gaucha. With the intention of raising awareness through art and nature. Then I started to make the snake garden. I consider my woodcuts to be original and creative, because they come from my imagination, since I learned from my grandmother, a florist, poet and tennis player, that it was the snakes that belched the flowers. Today I make large flowers (e.g. 200 cm (about 6.56 ft) x 80 cm (about 2.62 ft) / matrix)

“Sabedoria Perdida” (Wisdom Lost series)

This collection of work stems from my belief that there is advanced consciousness and intelligence in plants. I don’t believe they grow only to serve our species in the forms of tables, doors or wardrobes. Plants are extraordinary and highly evolved organisms in constant communication, and the group of species I investigate in this series are of a unique caliber. Today we know that older trees help younger plants during extreme conditions by sharing nutrients and water via their root networks, healing and nourishing one another. Their roots access the deeper mineral deposits unavailable to smaller plant species. These are then distributed with the forest with every fallen leaf. This series is about the ancient trees of the forest. Certain tree species that, on rare occasions, manage to stand the test of time growing for hundreds, even thousands of years. Saplings that sprouted before Christ was born, enduring wars and natural disasters. During these long periods, a library of knowledge and experience is accumulated and shared with the younger forest dwellers. This series is a tribute to the forest giants destroyed by man, who cut and burn these cathedrals of nature, forever silencing these wise voices. It is a tribute to the wisdom lost over human greed.

“Imbuia”

Sabedoria Perdida, 2020

One of the longest living tree species on the planet. In Brazil, one specimen was found with an estimated age of 2700 years. This means its seed was germinating around the time of the destruction of Babylon, circa 700BC. In this work, cutouts form legs pacing in opposite directions like gears of time. The empty spaces form crowns indicating the noble stature of this tree, while the carbon black shows the manner of its death through fire.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1961, she dedicated professionally to environmental engineering. But it was through art that she ended up discovering herself and opening the paths of her sensitivity and, step by step, understanding in 2020 that she should assume her feminine identity and, as a transgender woman, strives to continue participating in society, in her work, to demonstrate that she is just an ordinary woman, like any other. She started showing off her art in 2014, having already participated in several exhibitions (including 4 solo exhibitions), in which he received 10 awards. In his intuitive technique, she usually photographs in Black & White – to highlight shapes, shadows and lights – using colors when they are the main subject of the scene. She doesn't use image editing resources, defining in the scene, at the time of shooting, whether it will be in color or not, adjusting the shadows and defining the lighting that feels most appropriate, so that your photographs are a direct view of the image that was taken. captured. She produces photos that show these moments, the beauty in the unexpected, in the details, shapes and designs of light in their nuances of shadows and emotions.

Elisabeth Wortsman

The free and unlimited use of color shows us a new phase for the artist. It achieves an expression of its own, a particular language.

The translation of this moment in which he shapes his inner reconstruction in color is something very beautiful, without being thunderous. The feminine, love and color marry, in perfect harmony, freed from the past, ready for a new flight. A flight of the soul through multiple colors.

Elisabeth frees herself from the "obligation" to represent figures of visible reality. It is possible to express with ideal shapes, pure formal elements such as circles, squares, lines, to detach itself from that influence of the early years that limited it so much. It was also another way to use large fields of color, his favorite element.

For Elisabeth Wortsman, a form or object captured by her sensibility has emotional value and only takes shape in her work of art, sensibility acts in the entire process of elaboration of her works.

She originally expressed herself through words in chronicles and poems, but after 20 years of writing, she sought to use paper and liquid paints to show her deepest feelings. In her “Seeds” series, she uses black ink to intesify remarkable outlines that are filled with colored ink or watercolor with harmonic contrasts representing the feelings of the heart. The oil pastel coverage gives texture to the shapes and represents the social layer that we all let out. Creative, authentic, sensitive, and expressive, her art always longs for an attentive and receptive eye, and is open for various interpretations. It is a unique art piece, much like her name.

I start my painting process with acrylic and spray paint using the action painting technique, which creates free abstraction and where the momentary moment can come to the fore. I use the wet- on-wet technique. On top of this, I continue with oil colours more slowly and carefully. Abstract and figurative meet in the same picture. The themes and subjects of my works are man and humanity, as well as various references to space and popular culture. As reference material, I use image material that I found on the internet as well as images produced by artificial intelligence, which I fade so that the origin of the image can no longer be recognized.

Jari Järnström is a painter from Helsinki (b.1960 Lahti) and studied visual arts at Orivesi Folk High School (Fine Art Department), Kankaanpää Art School and Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts, from which he graduated Master of Fine Arts in 2003.

In recent years, Järnström has held about one solo exhibition a year and participated in several collective and group exhibitions in Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Germany, France, Great Britannia, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, United States and Japan.

I mainly use oil pastels to draw pictures of animals. I like all animals, but I often draw mother bears and their cubs. In recent years, there has been an increase in sad news about bears in Japan, and it hurts my heart to the point of bursting. That's why I always draw them in my pictures with the hope that they will live happily ever after.

I like to shoot in twilight or in the dark. I "paint" the subject with lights, creating a strange atmosphere in the picture that gives space to the viewer's imagination. I live in the middle of forests and lakes, in a small Finnish town. I love nature and animals. I photograph pets and nature on walks, but I put those photos in my own album. The photos that I put on display at exhibitions are created with the arrangement of "staging, lighting and photography". I "stage" the milieu with shadows, reflections, glare, shades, reflectors, I light it with dozens of lamps. Until I get the right mood, I take a camera, digital paperback or an old cellphone camera and take a picture. I save the images, enlarge them, check the brightness, colors and contrast and print them. I don't use an SLR camera, Photoshop, or other image processing.

Maija Vanhatapio (1946) was born in Helsinki, lives and works in Kajaani in Eastern Finland. She graduated as a graphic designer and studied fine arts at the University of Lapland. She is a member of the Oulu Artists' Association, which is the Oulu Region Professional Art Association. She has several private and group gallery exhibitions a year, 9 th in October 2023. She is also represented in some online galleries, competitions, magazines. Vanhatapio studies and experiments textures, colors and lights of the Nordic landscape through different media.

In creating my works, I use the basic elements of painting: line, color, light, shape, and space. Graphic lines with charcoal, different kind of papers. Color surfaces directly on the bottom guided by the feeling or memory of the moment. My way of creating is almost intuitive, an approach that allows me to be open to unexpected moments of seeing something that is not obvious. I try to expand and include these discoveries in my works and open new experiences, interpretations, and reductions of the surrounding world to the viewer.

Maalausteni lähtökohtana on kuitenkin aina luonto vaikka kieli olisi muuttunutkin abstraktiksi. Sitäpaitsi akvarellissa on huumoria, josta syntyy mukavaa, sattumasta kumpuavaa rosoa kuulakkaille pinnoille.

The starting point of my paintings is always nature even if they seem to change abstract mood. I like challenges and I enjoy stumbling with unbridled and wild watercolour. I try to understand the innermost nature and demands of watercolour. The collaboration between water and pigment brings forth particularly enjoyable possibilities for manifesting content in this art medium. In addition, watercolour possesses humor, which creates cute haphazard roughness clear surfaces. I have lost my heart to the expressive power of wonderful watercolours.

I live and work in Helsinki. I gained my Masters degree from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki in 2004 and has since taken part in solo and collective exhibitions in Finland and further abroad. And that is what I am going to continue also in the future! In addition I feel to have a duty to teach and deal the knowledge about the possibilities of fine watercolours.

I was born a poet and I love dancing. Writing has saved my life several times. And essentially expressing with my body is where I am best. The body in poetry. From this expression, the encounter with theater took place within me, before I even knew what this fascinating and profound art is. Along my path, an overwhelming fascination with cinema also emerged, and I immersed myself in the expanded visual arts. From this affiliation of affection, a frontier art was born, an investigation of hybrid poetic language, which hears each time in which matter-time the work wants to happen the idea, always instigated by the dialogue between art and philosophy, moving through old and new technologies .

My diverse backgrounds are a reflection of this intuitive trajectory of the body-soul: bachelor's degree and degree in Performing Arts (UNIRIO); Social Communication with an emphasis on Cinema (UFF); Philosophy (UFRJ); Videoart (School of Visual Arts/Parque Lage). My love for Nature, which we all are, led me to train as a Designer for Sustainability (Gaia Education and Transition Towns/Brazil). And in the search for sanity, I became a Yoga Instructor (Yoga Alliance); Meditation Facilitator (Brazilian Taoist Society); Reikiana (IOC/ Fiocruz) and many other initiations on a journey that is always in motion.

I am Marilene Tapias and I have been an artist for 15 years. Moro no Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.

Mandala is commonly used by eastern religions to convey the message that human beings are indivisible from the universe. I made a series of mandalas in 2010, but after visiting the Amazon and seeing the prevailing deforestation, I used recycled paper and pieces of my old works to create these news ones to remind people that we must all stand together (glue) in defense of our home: the planet on which we live.

Art is my purpose, I tell stories and express them in colors and shapes. In street art I am a Muralist, I take my art from canvas to large murals.

In every painting I place my heart and I convey through my gaze the work in form of what was once a feeling.

Every story is like a single star in the sky, my purpose is to tell them with my brushes.

What delights me is to express what people feel from my art.

I am a visual artist from São Paulo and I have been working with contemporary sculptural art since 1996. My work is distinguished by the use of mixed techniques that include oil painting, gouache, watercolor, collages, recyclable materials, the use of gold, silver and other precious stones and for a search for different textures, giving my works an element of three-dimensionality that can be appreciated both up close and from afar. Up close, the different textures in different levels and formats convey to the viewer the feeling of organic warmth. From afar, sinuous lines in relief are like harmonious bodies in motion. My paintings and sculptures instill a sense of curiosity and reflection, giving the viewer the freedom to create images and meanings for my works, making them delve into the colors, the objects used and into a world of shapes and textures. I like to provoke the viewer by creating harmonious worlds in which nothing is what it appears to be at first sight, as an invitation to delve deeper into my canvases and sculptures, and to navigate them with an open mind and heart. I have a canvas called Gold on permanent display at the Montserrat Gallery in New York and I have participated in several exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, such as Expo Arte SP, and Caminhos Alternativos in São Paulo and Habemus Artem: Arte Sem Fronteiras in Portugal.

Petri Anttonen www.petrianttonen.fi

Uuden hankkeen lähtökohta on autostereoskooppinen kolmiulotteinen valokuvausmenetelmä.

Petri Anttonen (b. 1961) is a Helsinki-based photographer and visual artist. He began his artistic career in the early 1990s with works investigating the representation of time and motion. The new project takes as its starting point an autostereoscopic three-dimensional photographic method. The 3-D photographs are made using the lenticular technique in which the illusion of depth and movements are created by interlaced photographs. The allure of the moment fascinates the view time after time.

The key elements in Petri Anttonen's work are investigation of the practices of viewing and development of pictorial expression. He has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions in Finland and internationally, and he has works in several collections. Anttonen received his Doctorate in Fine Art from the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture (University of Art and Design) in 2005. He lives and works in Helsinki.

Rafael Ferraraccio

Rafael Ferraraccio's artistic career began with his journey as an imagineer in 1997, breathing life into sculptures and themed settings admired in Brazil and internationally. His path is a testament to the passion and unending search for new ways to express an artist's creativity.

In 2020, Rafael plunged into a world of vibrant colors and unique strokes, capturing an intimate and sensitive vision for canvas paintings. Inspired by Impressionist techniques and using acrylic paint and watercolor, his works convey the profound essence of the sacred in a universal manner, with no religious limitations.

Rafael's distinctive style can be described as a manifestation of Sacred Art, as he draws inspiration from a vision he had at the age of 18: the image of the Virgin Mary. This vision that permeates his imagination, as can be seen in the series of works titled "Our Lady in Colors" and "The Faces of Jesus," where each brushstroke is an invitation to contemplate the beauty and depth of Faith in all its forms.

Rafael Ferraraccio invites the public to enter a universe of beauty, reflection, and connection with the divine. His exhibition is an invitation to explore the deepest layers of the human soul through art, celebrating the magic and universality of artistic expression.

Olen porilainen kuvataiteilija, Muu ry:n, Ornamon, TEXOn, Lasitan sekä paikallisten taiteilijaseurojen jäsen. Vaikutan myös Suomen Kuvataidejärjestöjen liitto ry:n hallituksessa.

Teokseni ovat tällä hetkellä valokuvia. Muokkaan teoksiani digitaalisesti, liittämällä useita kuvia yhteen luodakseni maalausmaisen vaikutelman. Vedostutan teoksiani lasille, alumiinille, vanerille, polykarbonaatille, kankaalle tai paperille. Teen aina uniikkiteoksia, eli editio on aina 1/1.

Teosten aiheina ovat usein luonnosta löytyvät elementit, tosin aivan viime aikoina olen myös käyttänyt ihmisaiheita.

Teosteni värimaailma on useimmiten kirkas ja rikas kuten elämä itsekin on.

Viimeisimmät julkiset teokseni olen tehnyt suoraan uuden koulurakennuksen lattiaan.

I am a visual artist from the west cost of Finland, Pori. In addition of being a member of our local society of artists, I am also a member of the Artists´ Association Muu, Ornamo Art and Design Finland, The Finnish Association of Textile Artists TEXO and Finnish Glass Artists Lasita. I am a board member of the Union of Finnish Art Associations.

My current art work is photo based. I edit and manipulate the photographs that I have taken. I aim to get a somewhat painting-kind of result. My photos are printed on glass, aluminum, plywood, polycarbonate, fabric or paper. They are always unique; the edition is 1/1.

Topics of my art I often find in nature, although currently I have also used themes of persons as part of my working.

The color scheme is most often bright and colorful as is life too.

The most recent public art I have created directly on the floor of a new school building. They were printed directly on laminated glass to enable the colors and brightness authentic.

Riitta Hurme

Maalaaminen on minulle matka värien ja valon maailmaan. leikkisä tai vakava matka, joskus molempia. Olen koulutukseltani taidehistorioitsija ja maalannut aktiivisesti lähes 20 vuotta. Maalausta olen opiskellut useita vuosia mm. Helsingin Taiteilijaseuran kurssikeskuksessa, ja osallistun vuosittain ryhmä- ja yhteisnäyttelyihin. Maalaan sekä öljy- että akryyliväreillä. Öljyväreissä minua viehättää erityisesti tekniikan mahdollistama pohdiskeleva hitaus, maalausten kerroksellisuus ja himmeä hohto, akryyliväreissä mahdollisuus visuaalisiin seikkailuihin monipuolisen tekniikan avulla. Maalaamisen ohella elämääni on sisältynyt runsaasti myös muuta kulttuuria. Opiskelin nuorena oboen soittoa, ja soitin useissa harrastajaorkestereissa. Musiikki on minulle edelleen hyvin rakasta. Myös japanilainen kukkataide ikebana on osa elämääni, ja olen kouluttautunut ikebanaopettajaksi (Sogetsu Teacher’s degree, 4th grade). Olen myös väitellyt filosofian tohtoriksi Helsingin Yliopistossa.

For me, painting is a journey into the world of colors and light, a playful or serious journey, sometimes both. I am an art historian by training, and have been actively painting for almost 20 years. I have studied painting for several years, e.g. in the Course Center of the Helsinki Artists´ Society. I paint in both oils and acrylic, and participate in group and joint exhibitions every year. In oil colors I am especially attracted by the contemplative slowness made possible by the layeredness and dull glow of the paintings, while the versatilily of acrylic provides the opportunity for visual adventures. In addition to painting, I have been involved in many other cultural activities, I studied the oboe when I was young, and played in several amateur orchestras. Music is still very dear to me. The Japanese flower art ikebana is also a part of my life, and I have trained as an ikebana teacher (Sogetsu Teacher’s degree, 4th grade). I defended my doctorate in philosophy at the University of Helsinki.

Riitta Santala-Köykkä's artistic practice is multidisciplinary, spanning across various mediums such as painting, sculpture, installation, and photography. She often incorporates recycled materials and natural elements into her works, creating a dialogue between the man-made and the organic.

One of her notable series is "Northern Lights," where she captures the ethereal beauty of the aurora borealis through painting. In these works, she explores the themes of transience and the sublime, inviting viewers to contemplate the fleeting nature of beauty and the awe-inspiring power of the natural world.

Through her paintings and installations, Santala-Köykkä raises questions about sustainability and the future of our planet. As an artist, she has received critical acclaim for her ability to evoke deep emotional responses. Her works have been exhibited in galleries and museums across Finland and internationally.

In addition to her artistic practice, Santala-Köykkä is also an advocate for environmental conservation and social justice. She uses her platform as an artist to raise awareness about pressing global issues.

She focuses on mastering the power of creativity to inspire, provoke, and unite. Through her diverse body of work, Riitta Santala-Köykkä invites viewers to reflect on their place in the world and to consider the impact of their actions on the environment and society.

Ritva Larsson is 58- years old painter from Helsinki. She graduated from the University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Fine Arts Lahti. She also holds a masters degree in social sciences. She nowadays works as an professional artist and a social worker. The artworks have been painted based on classical traditions. Larsson uses classical brush techniques and materials: oil on canvas or watercolor. The combination creates an interesting tension between the traditional techniques and the modern themes, where “the social“ meets “the realism“. In these three paintings she uses experimental techniques: before painting process watercolor papers are coloured with coffee, tea or red wine.

The Collection Shinkiū, which means “The New and The Old" in Japanese, is the first series of canvases created by the artist Rodrigo Yasuda.

A passionate about traditions from different cultures, but mainly from his genealogy, and also an enthusiast with modernity and technology, this series surges with the intention to represent extinct traditions and at the same time to show that the modern allied to traditions could be a better solution in several areas of the modern societies today.

Up in Smoke

Chudō (middle path), represents the difficulty of choices that life presents us since our early days. The middle path, one of the main buddhism philosophies, means that choosing the middle path instead of a more extremist ideology could set you free and lead you to enlightenment.

I am a Korean realist painter and I majored in art in college. I held many group and individual exhibitions in Korea and Finland. I drew many realistic portraits and still-life paintings. But I also drew many abstract paintings. I have expressed the transparency of my artworks by almost minimizing oil paint using sawdust as an ingredient on hardboard paper for 20 years. I have drawn many paintings showing my sensitivity, emotions, and subjectivity. In Korea, there is a saying for people who have a hard time in life, "Doesn't your shoulders feel heavy?" This painting is a semi-abstract painting, and the hand on her shoulder in the painting represents the weight of her life.

I’m a Surrealist artist, and my proposal is to innovate the branch of Surrealism by creating a sub-category, "Metaphysical Surrealism".

Since my childhood, I had sought to present to the world an artistic expression of the things I think about, always with a background of extreme depth and importance for the imagination of society as a whole.

My art consists, as already said, of representing metaphysical concepts through minimalist drawings. All of my works are made on paper, with the background completely or partially black, using just two pencils: a graphite pencil and a black colored pencil.

I believe that the experience of using just two pencils makes all the difference in creating the work. It carries with it one of the essences of my art, which is "Minimalism" and "Simplicity".

I want to show that with little it is possible to say a lot, and with this make a difference in people's lives, bringing them deep and intuitive reflections.

I am a Korean designer and artist. I am studying industrial design in college. When I was 13, I was selected as an art prodigy in college and studied art. I was also interested in webtoons, so I have drawn them for a long time. I wanted to freely express my abstract personal thoughts and concepts without the boundaries of Western painting, oriental painting, and drawing, so I drew abstract concepts of Western painting using Korean paper and ink. Sometimes the public will be the subject, and sometimes I will be the subject myself to do various art across genres.

"Tatáliana is a young artist born in the northeast of Brazil, who explores the concept of life in her works. According to the artist's perception, the organic curves of her works, created intuitively, trace feminine and maritime elements that carry the idea of individual birth and the emergence of collective life.

While some works bring the energy of gestation, other elements bring the presence of the ocean where the artist is inspired by the conception of life in its fullness. Despite her works in their immense majority carrying this energy, other works bring a twisted vision of distant memories or personified feelings.

Tigout

Akvarellien maalaaminen on intohimoni. Rakastan niiden keveyttä, läpikuultavuutta ja monipuolisuutta. Akvarelleissa on taikaa.

Painting watercolours is my passion. I love the lightness, translucency and versatility of watercolours. There is magic in watercolours. I express my feelings and experiences through painting. Elements of nature - air, light, wind or snow – have an essential role in my paintings. I ́m working as an artist entrepreneur and as an art teacher. I have a gallery of my own in the heart of beautiful Rauma Old Town, which is one of the Unesco World heritage sites. I have had several art exhibitions of my own and taken part in many kinds of group exhibitions in Finland and other countries, too. I ́m a member in The Finnish Watercolour Society and The Artist ́s Association of Rauma. I won Arla Passion for Food & Art -competition in 2019. My paintings belong to a couple of collections.

Ulla-Maija Vaittinen

www.ulla-maijavaittinen.fi

My current works reflect on the position of children in this violent and chaotic world. Around the world abandoned swings swing away in light as well as shadow as symbols of both dark and sacred memories. These images of empty swings symbolize the lives of our children in the world of today. Will these swings ever be used again or will they remain abandoned? Ulla-Maija Vaittinen has participated in several group and solo exhibitions. Her techniques vary from works in bronze, graphics, painting, installations, videos, performance and environmental works. Her recent works have been videos and photographic collages. In this exhibition organic colors play an important role in the paintings. Russian War of Aggression against Ukraine has deeply influenced the contents of my work. Ulla-Maijas motto is: Art may not change the world, but it can impact people´s emotions and their way of thinking and arise discussion. Ulla-Maija Vaittinen has studied at Art Industrial High School of Helsinki (now a part of Aalto University of Helsinki). She has taught visual arts in many sectors. She is a member of many Art societies. Ulla-Maija Vaittinen lives and works in Helsinki, Finland.
