YOUR GUIDE TO THE ARTS IN SELWYN

Notes from the Arts Advisor Kia Ora, This month is all about celebrating the cultural diversity in our district. June signifies the beginning of the Ma¯ori New year – Matariki. Selwyn Libraries have some wonderful activities for children and the community for the duration of the month – it is a real opportunity to learn and be involved! On 25 June we will be celebrating as a community with a special day of performances at Lincoln University. This month there is also a FREE seminar on the ins and outs of art as your business featuring FUSE speaker, Kate Spencer. The local art galleries have some fabulous exhibitions and the Nut Point Centre and Mistlewood Gallery will both host wonderful concerts for your enjoyment. The Ministry of the Mind Open Mic Nights are every Wednesday in Lincoln and there is always a good selection of live music gigs around the district. If you want to see the full selection of what is on offer, check out the Arts Newsletter which is available online at www.selwynartstrust. org.nz and from our facebook page www.facebook.com/ Artsinselwyn. Enjoy the month of June! Rachael Inch
