Winter signifies a period of renewal at the American School of Dubai. As the New Year unfolds, many students are flustered as they prepare for mid-term exams prior to the start of the second semester. Seniors grow more and more excited with the passing of each day, as graduation day approaches at a previously unimaginable pace. As the weather cools, a sense of urgency is lit in everyone to make the most of the remaining school year. Yet, even amidst the frenzy, it?s important to remember to slow down once in awhile and find some personal activity to enjoy during this period of respite. This issue of the Akhbar offers a brief escape from the clutter of equations and facts in textbooks. From the insightful analysis of events to the breakdown of 2015 to the more lighthearted pieces, this issue serves as a testament to the ever-improving quality of work the students of ASD can produce with each year.

This week has been so stressful. It's supposed to be a chill week with few summatives so we can study for exams, but there is so much extra work and assessments that I hardly have any time to actually study for exams. I have hardly gotten any sleep this week when I need it the most. i want to sit in a corner and cry :))))
I've never been this close to death.

Feeling Stressed, but confident because our teachers have prepared us for them all year, so we have no excuse to do poorly. IM DYING FAM! I am super stressed RIP IM STRESSED SO and I swear to god MUCH NOW! Just a lot I'm going to shoot of work and stuff, but my right foot after also I am stressing finals. LOL myself a lot with clubs HAHAHAAHHAAHA so that doesn't help. My parents don't have to worry Im coping fine, I have about paying for my study plan ready. uni because I (Cram the night before) won't be going (:
Q&A
W h i ch ex am ar e y ou m ost n er v ou s f or ?
Biology because it has the most content in in to memorize and it will be my first test. I love science, however I feel as if I will confuse two topics together since there is so much to remember.
I am most nervous for my IPC final because I have only had time to work on my GIA project and English project instead of studying.
Kind of all of them. There are aspects that terrify me with all of them, but mostly the weighing. Too much of our overall grade is dependent on one test. One of the things ASD keeps saying that they care about is progress and growing and correcting mistakes but that can't happen if almost half of our grade depends on one test. If someone is slightly sick or off their best, they're screwed because if they do bad, there's nothing they can do.
