Kaley turned 16 this year! She is currently in 11th grade and is still attending Florida Virtual School (FLVS). This year her honors courses include Pre-Calculus, United States Government, and English 3. She’s ahead in her required course credits, so she’s taking a few electives such as Digital Information Technology and Outdoor Education (to finish her P.E credit). Her cumulative GPA is over 3.8, with a weighted GPA of 4.1. Kaley also started her first job this year! She started with Office Max in September for Back to School and was hired as a seasonal employee. That quickly turned into a permanent part-time position. She’s currently a cashier and enjoys earning her own money.

Another thing that Kaley really got into this year is playing her guitar. She’s been playing on and off for years, but really go serious about it this year. She bought herself a new guitar recently with money that she earned from work. She is also paying for her enrollment at the School of Rock here in Miami. She auditioned for them with Limelight by Rush and they were impressed. She had a choice of a few different bands, but joined Foundry Fathers, as she is into the genre of music they play. The band meets for 3 hours every week and will have their first performance early next year. Foundry Fathers plays songs like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. As far as r u n n i n g go e s, she has not been doing much. Between school and work, she hasn’t found the time to train. Back in January, she did run the Walt Disney World Marathon 10K. That was her first 6.2 mile race and she placed 37th in her age division. She ran the race in 1 hour 15 minutes! Considering that she stopped to take pictures with Disney characters along the course, she definitely ran a great race time.

Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party & Epcot Food and Wine Festival at WDW
September 2017
In September, Kaley and Amy went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. For the Halloween party, Kaley went as Rapunzel and Amy was Mother Gothel, from Tangled. Although Amy doesn’t look dressed up, she wore clothing known as Disneybounding. That is where you color coordinate your outfit to a Disney character. A little example is shown under their castle picture (far right). While there, the two also attended the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.
Fall in Pennsylvania and New York City October 19-25, 2017
This year’s fall trip took Amy and Kaley to Pennsylvania and New York City! If you don’t subscribe to This Clicks Photography blog (and you should), then a link will be at the end of this article that will take you to it. You will find 8 blog posts from their trip. They logged 2,117 miles by plane, 173 miles by train and 921 miles by car. That’s a lot of adventure in 6 days! In post #1 there are links to all of the photo galleries, if you prefer to skip the stories. The girls stayed in Harrisburg, PA for 4 nights. Some of their stops included Gettysburg, the PA Capitol Building, the Kinzua Skywalk, 3 covered bridges, and Hersheypark. Day 5 took them via Amtrak train into NYC for another 2 nights. They visited Central Park and Times Square, and on day 2, went on a 6 hour walking tour and took in a broadway show! Please visit the blog here:

the KELLY Times Kaley’s Sweet 16 Birthday at Disney World June 25th - June 30th
Kaley’s Sweet 16 birthday was celebrated at Walt Disney World. Kaley’s boyfriend and mom flew in from Boston and we joined up with another friend and his mom, who flew in from Connecticut. Together they helped Kaley and her mom celebrate her 16th birthday in style. They visited Epcot and the Magic Kingdom and had birthday celebrations at Teppan Edo Chef Mickey’s, and Ohana. On Kaley’s actual birthday, Kaley and her mom broke away from everyone and had dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table. A surprise in-room celebration was waiting back at their hotel room at the end of the night, which was a special ending to a wonderful birthday. The last two days, Kaley and her mom spent alone and continued the celebration. They spent their last couple of nights at Disney’s Yacht Club and really enjoyed the birthday splurge. They went to Epcot, Animal Kingdom and back to the Magic Kingdom. They enjoyed a special character breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno and for a very special grown up birthday celebration, they had dinner at California Grill (top left) and enjoyed the fireworks show from the balcony.
The Kelly’s wish everyone a happy and healthy 2018.
