REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER CAMP STARTS MARCH 2, 2020!

Blending education with play is important to providing an enriching environment and maintaining the connection to learning throughout the Summer Break. Our various Summer Camps include a variety of programs, emphasizing different educational, cultural and physical activities designed to keep youth active and healthy. Under the administration of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, the 2020 summer program will offer 24 camps throughout Atlanta for your child to stay engaged in positive activities all summer! Summer Camp fills up quickly!

CAMP BEST FRIENDS 2020 PRESENTS: SUMMER OLYMPICS The fun returns this summer at Camp Best Friends! This year’s theme, "Summer Olympics”, will focus on exposing campers to the core values of Olympism: Excellence, Respect and Friendship! Each week, campers will experience the social, cultural, and educational aspects that The Olympic Games offer. While discovering the pursuit of excellence, fair play and building friendships, we will be inspiring your camper to become “Faster, Higher and Stronger (Citius, Altius, Fortius)” with our 2020 Summer Olympics! The Department of Parks and Recreation understands the importance of blending education with play to provide an enriching environment and works to maintain that connection throughout the summer break. Now in its 39th year, Camp Best Friends has touched the lives of a quarter of a million Atlanta youth, teens and seniors. CENTERS OF HOPE CAMPS From the moment campers arrive each day, service leaders guide them in activities developed around the five (5) Centers of Hope Pillars: Academic Enrichment, Health & Fitness; Character & Leadership Development, Technology and Community. These experiences are achieved through integrated reading, sports, creative writing, games, drama, music, dance, arts and crafts, physical fitness and outdoor adventure. Ages: 5 – 12 Locations: Anthony Flanagan, Author Langford, Bessie Branham, Dunbar, Grove, M.L. King, Jr., Peachtree Hills, Perkerson, Pittman, Rosel Fann, Thomasville, and William Walker (formerly Ben Hill) Program Dates: Jun. 1 – Jul. 31, 2020 Days & Hours: Mon. – Fri. / 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Registration Fees: Residents $35.00 per week, Non-Residents $110.00 per week Ages: 5 - 18 Location: CT Martin Recreation (formerly Adamsville) Program Dates: Jun. 1 – Jul. 31, 2020 Days & Hours: Mon. – Fri. / 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Registration Fees: Residents $35 per week, Non-resident $110 per week Ages: 5 - 8 Locations: Zaban Program Dates: Jun. 1 – Jul. 31, 2020 Days & Hours: Mon. – Fri. / 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Registration Fees: Residents $35 per week, Non-resident $110 per week ARTS & NON-TRADITIONAL ATHLETICS CAMP Athletic Camps: $65 for Residents per week / $110 for Nonresidents per week Choose from a variety of athletic camps at various skill levels. Experienced instructors, coaches and college athletes provide guidance according to individual need. Ages 5–12 Location: Grant Park (Soccer and Tennis Camp) and Washington (Swim and Tennis Camp) Program Dates: Jun. 1 – Jul. 31, 2020 Days & Hours: Mon. – Fri. / 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Registration Fees: Residents $65 per week, Non-residents $110 per week SUMMER ARTS CAMP The Summer Arts Camp provides cultural experiences and academic enrichment opportunities that contribute to individual growth and achievement. Each participant receives performing and visual arts classes led by professional artists or arts organizations. This 7-week camp is filled on a first come, first served basis! Ages 5 – 12 Location: South Bend Center for Arts & Culture Program Dates: Jun. 1 – Jul. 31, 2020 Days & Hours: Mon. – Fri. / 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Registration Fees: Residents $65 per week, Non-residents $110 per week

OV ERNIGHT RESIDENTIAL CAMP Spend a week at our wilderness camp on the shore of Lake Allatoona. Campers can explore the many natural wonders in and around camp including nature trails, animal tracks, birds and trees while engaging in environmental education, competitions, swimming, boating, hiking, and more. From time around the campfire to jumping in the lake, this is an opportunity your child should not miss. Youth transported weekly from designated center.

Athletic Camps: $65 for Residents per week / $110 for Non-residents per week Choose from a variety of athletic camps at various skill levels. Experienced instructors, coaches and college athletes provide guidance according to individual need.

Ages 8 –12 Location: Lake Allatoona Campground Program Dates: June 8 – July 24** ** Lake Allatoona will not host camp during the following weeks: 6/1/20, 6/29/20, 7/27/20 Days & Hours: 8:00 a.m. Monday morning departure – 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon return (Please note the participants stay on site for the entire week) Registration Fees: Residents $80 per week, Non-residents: $135 per week

THERAPEUTICS CAMP C oan Park Therapeutics Summer Program provides participants with special needs a variety of adapted recreational activities, visual arts and swimming. Campers enrolled in the program will also have access to occupational therapy, speech therapy and hippotherapy. All campers must participate in an interview. Ages 6 – 21 Location: Coan Park Program Dates: Jun. 1 – Jul. 31, 2020 Days & Hours: Mon. – Fri. / 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Registration Fees: Residents $65 per week, Non-residents $110 per week

PRIME TIME SENIOR CAMP If you think summer camps have an age limit, think again! Atlanta Residents ages 55 and older can join in on the Camp Best Friends fun as well. Join us this summer for arts & crafts, music & dance, technology, table games, fitness & wellness and trips! Ages 55+ Locations: C.A. Scott, Old Adamsville, and Rev. James Orange Program Dates: Jun. 1 - Jul 31, 2020 Days & Hours: Mon.–Fri. 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m Registration Fees: Residents Only, FREE! No fee for enrollment
