Blending education with play is important to providing an enriching environment and maintaining the connection to learning throughout the Summer Break. Our various Summer Camps include a variety of programs, emphasizing different educational, cultural and physical activities designed to keep youth active and healthy. Under the administration of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, the 2020 summer program will offer 24 camps throughout Atlanta for your child to stay engaged in positive activities all summer! CAMP BEST FRIENDS 2020 PRESENTS: SUMMER OLYMPICS
The fun returns this summer at Camp Best Friends! This year’s theme, "Summer Olympics”, will focus on exposing campers to the core values of Olympism: Excellence, Respect and Friendship! Each week, campers will experience the social, cultural, and educational aspects that The Olympic Games offer. While discovering the pursuit of excellence, fair play and building friendships, we will be inspiring your camper to become “Faster, Higher and Stronger (Citius, Altius, Fortius)” with our 2020 Summer Olympics! The Department of Parks and Recreation understands the importance of blending education with play to provide an enriching environment and works to maintain that connection throughout the summer break. Now in its 39th year, Camp Best Friends has touched the lives of a quarter of a million Atlanta youth, teens and seniors.
CENTERS OF HOPE CAMPS
From the moment campers arrive each day, service leaders guide them in activities developed around the five (5) Centers of Hope Pillars: Academic Enrichment, Health & Fitness; Character & Leadership Development, Technology and Community. These experiences are achieved through integrated reading, sports, creative writing, games, drama, music, dance, arts and crafts, physical fitness and outdoor adventure. ARTS & NON-TRADITIONAL ATHLETICS CAMP
Athletic Camps: $65 for Residents per week / $110 for Nonresidents per week Choose from a variety of athletic camps at various skill levels. Experienced instructors, coaches and college athletes provide guidance according to individual need. SUMMER ARTS CAMP
The Summer Arts Camp provides cultural experiences and academic enrichment opportunities that contribute to individual growth and achievement. Each participant receives performing and visual arts classes led by professional artists or arts organizations. This 7-week camp is filled on a first come, first served basis!
