The Michael O’Neal Singers (MOS) Celebrates 35 Years

The Michael O’Neal Singers (MOS) organization opens its 35th concert season with Bernstein on Broadway. The performance features the 130-voice MOS chorus, soloists, and stage band performing music from all of Leonard Bernstein’s Broadway musicals, including Candide and West Side Story. This performance will take place Sunday, October 8 at Roswell UMC in Historic Roswell, Georgia. Composed of a symphonic chorus, the Kaleidoscope vocal ensemble of 36, and an annual community Summer program, MOS provides a unique opportunity to metropolitan Atlanta and beyond (via the MOS ONLINE program) to experience choral presentations of artistic excellence and programmatic variety. The Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University is Holding the Light

The theme for the Rialto Center’s 2023-2024 series season, Holding the Light, is rooted in the Rialto’s foundation as a beacon of lifeinspiring encouragement through the arts. The season opens with Ranky Tanky, the Grammy Award-winning band whose name means “get funky,” as they combine songs handed down through generations in the Sea Islands with their own original compositions in the Gullah tradition. Special guest, Grammy Award-winning R&B/Jazz/ Pop vocalist, Ms. Lisa Fischer will join the band, and a “Good Time” will be had by all, Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 8 p.m. Tickets and information are available at Rialto.GSU.edu

Artists in the exhibition contribute to a visual archive, generating dialogue about visibility and belonging for Latinx people.
