MYRIAD PABLO LUNA GOOSE ISLAND OKTOBER FEST

PAUL HOLLYFELD - 3.75

This local lager from Myriad brewing has a clear straw color, with very little head. There are subtle citrus notes on the nose, as well as a hint of lemon and a slightly astringent bitterness on the palate. A session lager at 4.4% that goes down easy.

PAUL BRAGIN - 5

A thick white head rests on this lager and never totally evaporates. A sweet malt scent controls the scent, with some hop bitterness also present. The first sip gives a burst of carbonation on the tongue, followed by a good balance of malt and hops. This beer should find a spot in everyone’s refrigerator as a great everyday choice. Pair it with a variety of spicy cuisines like Thai dishes or Mexican food.

JABEZ MARTINEZ - 4.5

This beer almost appears clear with a light coloring of yellow. It's light and refreshing - I would consider this beer somewhat of a light lager. This is a great, thirst-quenching beer. It has an ABV of 4.4% and comes in a 16 oz can. I'm very impressed by this beer - good job by a local brewery.

PAUL HOLLYFELD - 3.5

This Marzen style lager pours a clear amber hue with a creamy head. Notes of toasted malts on the nose, and light and slightly malty on the palate. There is a slight hoppy bitterness on the finish making this a very well-balanced lager. True to style, this is sure to please anyone who enjoys the Oktoberfest style.

PAUL BRAGIN - 4.5

A white head crowns this beer when poured into a traditional beer mug. The scent of malt fills the nose. Sweet malt flavors hit the tongue when drinking the beer and are balanced by the wrestling of malt and hops in the finish. Drink this seasonal offering while you can during the cooler autumn months. Pair it with a variety of classic German dishes like a variety of sausages, sauerkraut, German fries or apple strudel.

JABEZ MARTINEZ - 3.5

This beer pours a clear amber color with decent carbonation. It has a malty aroma with some spices mixed in. I would consider this your average Oktoberfest beer. It has some fruit flavors to it, some spice and the Marzen flavoring. It has a very light hops flavor but a little bitterness in the finish.

TERRAPIN HIGH & HAZY IPA

PAUL HOLLYFELD - 3.75

This pours hazy and yellow, with a quickly dissipating head. There are notes of citrus, mostly orange, on the nose. It is dry on the palate, and while not bursting with fruit, the notes of citrus and mango are ever-present. It is well-balanced, with a smooth finish and just a touch of bitterness.

PAUL BRAGIN - 4.25

A thick white head forms on this hazy IPA and evaporates slowly. A scent contains a generous amount of citrus and pine notes from the hops used during the brewing process. The initial tasting of the beer seems a bit more balanced, but the strong hop flavors return in the long finish. People who enjoy hoppy beers need to try this one. Pair it with sesame crusted tuna, Asian orange chicken or mild Cheddar cheese.

JABEZ MARTINEZ - 4.5

This beer pours a hazy straw color. It has an ABV of 5.8% but for some reason I expected it to be a little higher. I can taste the pine and the fruit flavors as in most IPAs but this one's pretty smooth. The can says it's “chewy” and I think they are right.

SIERRA NEVADA HOPTIMUM TRIPLE IPA

PAUL HOLLYFELD - 4.75

This triple pours a clear orange-amber hue with a thin creamy head. Bursting with notes of citrus on the nose, with an even bigger splash on the palate. Grapefruit, orange, mango and even some pineapple are dominant, and it's so well-balanced that the bitterness from the hops is almost imperceptible. This is a really big beer, coming in at 11% ABV and at the same time it is dangerously and deliciously smooth.

PAUL BRAGIN - 4

A decent white head tops this golden triple IPA and dissipates reluctantly. A burst of citrus scents in the hops dominates the scent profile. Likewise, the hop flavors remain while drinking the beer and continue in the finish. The 11% alcohol content packs a punch. Hop lovers and people who enjoy stronger beers definitely need to drink this limited time offering. Pair it with spicy dishes like Thai chicken salad or a Buffalo chicken sandwich

JABEZ MARTINEZ - 4.5

This is a clear, amber-colored beer. I can smell the hops right away. I can taste the warming alcohol and notice that it has an 11% ABV. I can taste the pine and the other fruit flavors. Overall, it's pretty smooth. Maybe the IPAs are growing on me or the breweries are getting better at making them.

PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY.
