DIRECTOR’S NOTE

The 17th century has hidden a jewel of a queer icon and it’s only now that she’s starting to see the spotlight again. A skilled duelist, famous opera star, and fierce bisexual lover, Julie’s life is the epitome of fighting for queer love and gender expression in a world where it’s still largely challenged. Her tale is an epic battle between the societal norms of how a woman should be, act, present, and who she loves, as well as her inner struggle to love her shadows alongside her talents. This punk-rock multi-media version of her story is a tribute to how she relates to queer humans today in their own journeys to love and be loved.

You are enough. ~ Kelsey Milbourn
