EVENTS MANAGEMENT Level 6 Events April/May 2019
BA (Hons) Creative Events Management April 2019 Each year students on the BA(Hons) Creative Events Management course at AUB are expected to produce a live event as part of their studies. By this stage of the course students will have a good body of experience in staging live events and responding to creative briefs. They will also have strong technical and organisational skills, including planning, marketing, finance and fundraising. The Live Event 3: Major Project unit is an opportunity for students to deliver a team project of their own devising. This unit is designed to challenge and to provide an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to analyse, interpret and respond to a complex body of knowledge and practice. The project is expected to have high creative values, to be pushing at the boundaries of industry practice or, alternatively, to engage with the community and involve the students in something they might not have experienced before, either as spectators or participants.

“7 Planet Productions is producing a venue inspired escape room with a twist. Highcliffe Collection is an immersive experience, enticing audiences to steal a painting at a staged gallery opening with a live pianist. Inspired by Highcliffe Castle’s rich history, the collection of art is rumoured to have been commissioned by previous owners of the castle. This is the first time these pieces have been shown to the public so security is high. Guests must secretly solve clues within their teams, throughout the evening leading them to the ultimate goal – a highly sought-after painting. Audience members need to have their wits about them to ensure they don’t get caught. Tickets are priced at £15 per person, including a welcome drink, sold in groups of four to six people. All profits made from this event will go to the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital Charity, who specialise in lung and heart conditions. This is a cause close to our hearts, so gather your teams together and get ready to enjoy the castle in a way never experienced before. Check out our website and commit a crime all in the name of charity: www.highcliffecollection.co.uk”
The Green Elephants Events team presents The Last Straw – It’s not a market. On Saturday 27th April 2019 at Factory Studios, Bournemouth, The Last Straw will celebrate sustainability! The purpose of the event is to create awareness about environmental issues such as global warming, water and plastic pollution. We aim to offer attendees sustainable alternatives in order to achieve an eco-friendlier lifestyle. The event is aimed at the local community of Dorset and consists of three main elements creating an immersive market experience. The first element is an art installation curated by a final year student at Bournemouth University. It will raise awareness of water pollution and today’s environmental issues; the second is a sustainable market, offering the community alternative products from local companies that are more environmentally friendly; and the third is workshops, hosted for the attendees to demonstrate easy DIY techniques to create homemade living products that help promote a sustainable lifestyle. Money raised at the event will be used to donate tothe charity Sustainable Dorset.
