CTC Software’s CIM Project Suite

TC Software, based in Bloomington, Minnesota, has been creating add-on packages for Revit and Civil3D since 2010. Their tools have proven themselves year after year to be an asset to not only CAD and BIM Managers, but for the everyday users of Revit and Civil3D. Of the many software packages they offer, three of them are focused solely on Civil3D. In this article I will explain the benefits and use cases for their CIM Project Suite; a tool targeted towards the everyday Civil3D user.

WHAT IS THE CIM PROJECT SUITE? CIM (an acronym for Civil Information Modeling) is a play on the popular BIM methodology. We are not just doing line and text drawings with Civil3D, we are creating dynamic models that react to our changes. Our projects are ever evolving and when utilized to its fullest, Civil3D makes updates to certain related design aspects in a dynamic fashion. WHAT TOOLS ARE IN THE CIM PROJECT SUITE? There are currently 16 tools in the CIM Project Suite. That number is set to increase very soon. More on that later. First, I will go through an overview of each tool currently available.
