The Northeast-10 Conference the national title in the 4x400 relay at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an NCAA Division II conference that was established in 1979. The conference consists of 15 member institutions located throughout the Northeast in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont. With the addition of women’s golf in 201415, the NE-10 now sponsors a total of 24 sports.

When it came to NCAA postseason selections, the NE-10 once again had another sensational year with 48 teams chosen to participate in national tournaments during the year. On top of that, representatives from 34 different swimming and diving, cross country and track & field teams competed for national titles. Of those 48 teams, 13 different Northeast-10 institutions were represented, while nine teams from the conference advanced to at least the national quarterfinal round in national tournament play – a new NE-10 record.

The institutions that make up the Northeast-10 are Adelphi University (Garden City, N.Y.), American International College (Springfield, Mass.), Assumption College (Worcester, Mass.), Bentley University (Waltham, Mass.), Franklin Pierce University (Rindge, N.H.), Le Moyne College (Syracuse, N.Y.), Merrimack College (North Andover, Mass.), University of New Haven (West Haven, Conn.), Pace University (Pleasantville, N.Y.), Saint Anselm College (Manchester, N.H.), Saint Michael’s College (Colchester, Vt.), The College of Saint Rose (Albany, N.Y.), Southern Connecticut State University (New Haven, Conn.), Southern New Hampshire University (Manchester, N.H.), and Stonehill College (Easton, Mass.).

From the field of play to inside the classroom, the Northeast-10 honored a number of student-athletes for their academic accomplishments. A record-breaking 73 percent of the league’s 287 athletic teams garnered a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Overall, nearly 59 percent of all conference student-athletes earned at least a 3.0 GPA throughout the 2014-15 academic year and were named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll (CHR) as a result. An astonishing 164 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall before 205 more did so in the spring. The Northeast-10 also honored 247 student-athletes as members of its academic all-conference teams.

The conference’s 15 member institutions are spread geographically from Syracuse, N.Y. to Waltham, Mass. and from Colchester, Vt. to Garden City, N.Y. Many of the members are located in or around the metropolitan areas of Albany, Boston, Manchester, New Haven, Worcester and New York City. The Northeast-10 was proud to welcome the New Haven and Adelphi in the conference’s latest expansion, adding to the powerful union of strong academic and athletic institutions. In addition, LIU Post (Brookville, N.Y.) is an associate member of the NE-10 in the sports of field hockey and football.

The Northeast-10 also remains focused on its community endeavors. The conference has built a strong partnership with Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization that matches children with life-threatening illnesses with college sports teams. In 2015, the NE-10 became the first ‘fully-matched’ conference in Division II, as at least one team from each member institution has matched with a Team IMPACT child. More than 60 NE-10 teams currently have matches through Team IMPACT. The conference’s fundraising efforts for Make-A-Wish are also more than any other Division II conference in the country over the past decade.

The Northeast-10 has evolved into a membership committed to competitive athletics programs that emphasize the education, both on and off the field, of more than 6,000 student-athletes. Among the many accomplishments of these institutions are NCAA Division II national championships in women’s basketball, women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s track and field, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving.

Through the establishment and enforcement of regulations, the conference aims to encourage policies that enable intercollegiate athletics programs to contribute to and be considered an integral part of the total educational offerings at our member institutions. The Northeast-10 can look to a long history of success including the growth from seven original member institutions to more than double its size 35 years later, the contention for and winning of multiple national championships, and the recognition of student-athlete performances off the field and in the classroom.

The conference is coming off yet another banner season in 2014-15. The Adelphi women’s lacrosse team repeated as national champions by defeating Lock Haven, 5-4, in the title game. Also, Southern Connecticut’s Chrystle Hill, Georgette Nixon, Sarah Hill and Shatajah Wattely claimed

record and earned the program’s second first-round home playoff game for the Northeast-10 Tournament title. They defeated Bentley in the first-round, on an overtime goal by Molly Cuevas to advance to the NE-10 semifinals. After suffering a 5-0 loss to the eventual 2013 NCAA National Champions of LIU Post, Coach O’Connor had several players earn post-season accolades. The squad saw three players named to NE-10 All-Conference teams, three earned Fall Academic AllConference and the team took home the NFHCA Division II National Academic Team Award as well as the NE-10 Team Academic Excellence award with a 3.384 GPA. She also had one NFHCA second-team All-American in 2013.

The 2015 season marks the start of Gloria O’Connor’s eighth year at the forefront of the Adelphi University field hockey program. O’Connor was named head coach by former vice president and athletic director Robert E. Hartwell in 2008, when the field hockey program returned to Adelphi. Over her tenure, she has compiled a 67-64 record and has led the team to five consecutive Northeast-10 Conference Tournament appearances. In 2014, O’Connor led the Panthers to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time since 1981 after going 13-5 (8-3, NE-10) during the regular season. After falling to Stonehill in the NE-10 Tournament semifinal, O’Connor in the Panthers met #2 LIU Post in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but were defeated 3-1. Five Panthers received NE-10 All-Conference honors, and junior midfielder Molly Cuevas was named Longstreth/NFHCA DivisionII First Team All-American.

In 2012, the Panthers earned the fourth seed for the NE10 tournament and hosted their first-ever playoff game. They continued on to the semi-final where they suffered a 6-0 loss to Merrimack College. Head Coach

In 2013, the Panthers finished with an 11-9 overall

Island coordinator. O’Connor also coached varsity lacrosse at Carle Place, capturing five New York state titles and is also a member of the New York Metropolitan and Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame (2006). In addition, she has been honored with the Hofstra University Outstanding Contributions to High School Girls’ Athletics award and was a National High school Coach of the Year nominee in 1988. A long time teacher and administrator, O’Connor is no stranger to Long Island schools, having spent time as a special education teacher at John Adams High School, an Athletic Director at Sewanhaka High School, an Assistant Principal and Principal at Floral Park Memorial Jr. Sr. High School and most recently as superintendent for Personnel and Administration for the Sewanhaka High School District.

O’Connor led the team to an 8-12 record and a 6-4 mark in conference play. Adelphi had a Rookie of the Year for the conference as well as 13 girls named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad. The team also held the title of NCAA Statistical Champion for defensive saves in 2012. In her first four years at the helm of the program, Gloria O’Connor led the Brown and Gold to three Northeast-10 Conference Tournament appearances, had three players named All-American and eight named to NE-10 AllConference teams, all while compiling a 35-36 record. At the high school level, O’Connor achieved unparalleled success, posting a record of 146-18-21 that included nine league championships. She is also a member of the Long Island Field Hockey Coaches Hall of Fame (1990) and Carle Place High School Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach.

• Adjacent to the Motamed Field is a practice space. • The tennis courts are located just beyond this field and anchors the complex in one contiguous area. • All-weather surface material to allow for year-round practice and competition. • Four main light standards help illuminate the field for evening training and competition, as well as working media and game operations. The Outdoor Sports Complex features Motamed Field, which is the home for the Adelphi men’s and women’s soccer, lacrosse and field hockey programs.

• A heated/air-conditioned Press Box is located at the top of the stadium seats. Located midfield, the press box accommodates sports information, working media and game operations, which maintains the scoreboard and public address sound system. • The Panthers’ live in-game stats of soccer, lacrosse and field hockey events originates out of the press box. • Addition of a one-level parking structure for over 300 cars below the field.

Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation Danny

created a new strength and conditioning center inside the Center for Recreation and Sports which features all the amenities required for a first-class program. Finally, in 2015, McCabe was chosen to begin a three-year term on the men’s basketball NCAA East Regional Advisory Committee and also serves on the ECAC Board of Directors.

McCabe After a nationwide search, Danny McCabe was appointed Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation at Adelphi in July 2013 by former Adelphi University President Dr. Robert A. Scott.

In his first two years at the helm of the athletics department, the Panthers continued to set a standard of excellence in the Northeast-10 Conference, winning the school’s second consecutive Presidents’ Cup in 2013-14 before finishing second in 2014-15. In that time, Adelphi claimed seven NE-10 Championships, sent 15 teams to NCAA Tournament play and claimed two NCAA National Championships in women’s lacrosse. In 2015, the softball team reached the Women’s College World Series for the first time as a Division II program, winning the NCAA Division II East 2 Regional on Janet L. Ficke Field before sweeping the Super Regional on the campus of top-seeded Southern New Hampshire. In the classroom, 12 student-athletes have been recognized as CoSida Capital One Academic All-District I Team honorees, including five Academic All-Americans from the men’s lacrosse (Nick Watson), women’s lacrosse (Devan Crimi, Alexa Froccaro), women’s soccer (Taylor Groth) and women’s basketball (Kelly Mannix) programs. Furthermore, seven teams earned the NE-10 Team Academic Excellence Awards in 2013-14, while the softball program posted the highest GPA across all three NCAA Divisions; the program followed that up as one of four Panther teams to win an Academic Excellence Award in 2014-15, recording the highest GPA in the history of the award. In addition to the success in competition and in the classroom, McCabe has been instrumental in expanding Adelphi’s corporate partners, bringing the sponsorships of TD Bank ®, the Whitmore Group, the Greene Turtle, and MetLife ® to the department. In 2015, MetLife Legacy Advisors became the title sponsor of Adelphi’s annual Fall Cocktail Reception, while MetroTeam Outfitters returned as Adelphi’s official gear sponsor and joined the roster of corporate partners as the title sponsor of the annual Ficke Golf Classic. The funds raised at these special events reached record levels, and membership in the Panther Club, the department’s major friend-andfundraising arm, also doubled in 2015 to nearly 800 members. McCabe has been instrumental in creating several new positions in the department, beginning with the addition of a varsity women’s golf program and the hiring of Keith Ferrara as the first full-time strength and conditioning coach. In addition, the department

McCabe came to Adelphi from Hofstra University, where he was a part of the Pride Intercollegiate Athletic program for eight years, as Executive Associate Athletic Director. He played a pivotal role in the day-to-day operation of the department and in that role McCabe spearheaded Hofstra’s NCAA Certification process, and played a large role in developing and implementing the University’s fiveyear plan for athletics. He also served as the chairman of the NCAA Lacrosse Quarterfinals Organizing Committee at Hofstra in 2009 and 2011. In addition, McCabe served as the program administrator for the men’s and women’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, volleyball and the men’s soccer program and had oversight responsibilities for the sports medicine and strength and conditioning departments. Prior to Hofstra, McCabe was at Providence College where he served as Associate Director of Athletics for External Relations from 2000-05. In that capacity, he managed all athletic department marketing, promotions and sales strategies for the Big East institution. Under his guidance, the College experienced increased sponsorship sales and ticket sales and increased the average attendance at Friar men’s basketball games. McCabe also oversaw the Providence Athletic Ticket Office, managed their collegiate licensing program increasing revenue by 133 percent, and worked with the Director of Athletics in the department’s fundraising program. Before his time at Providence, McCabe served as the University of Miami (FL) Director of Ticket Sales from 1998 to 2000. At Miami, he handled season ticket and group ticket sales strategies for the Hurricane’s football, baseball, and men’s and women’s basketball programs. McCabe also spent time in leadership roles in the marketing departments at both Fairfield University (1994Adelphi University 98) and Fordham Director of Athletics University (1991-92). A 1991 graduate of Providence College Bill Altenberg - 1950-51 with a bachelor’s George Faherty - 1951-66 degree in business Jim Bedell - 1966-72 administration, McCabe earned a MBA Ron Bazil - 1972-79 degree from Fairfield Larry Keating - 1979-85 University in 2004.

Long Island There’s more than plenty to do on Long Island. Arts, culture, history, beaches, golf and shopping.

Central Suffolk, with beautiful forests and natural inlets, the world’s largest factory outlet center and a huge water park.

There are five distinctive regions in Long Island North Shore, otherwise known as the Gold Coast, with dozens of historic sites dating back to colonial days and Gatsbyera mansions .

North Fork, with an array of vineyards, waterfront ports and farm stands. South Fork, widely known as “The Hamptons,” with its pristine beaches and exclusive villages.

South Shore, the Island’s spectator sports and entertainment center, with worldfamous Jones and Fire Island Beaches, and home to the New York Islanders.

New York City It is impossible not to find something interesting to do and see in Manhattan. The most renowned of New York City’s five boroughs, Manhattan offers the best of everything— Broadway shows, concerts, sporting events, museums, shops, restaurants, parks, parades, cultural landmarks and one-of-a-kind neighborhoods. New York City is only 30 minutes from the Adelphi University Campus. On a trip to Manhattan, you could: • Head to Central Park to catch the finish of the New York City Marathon, or pack a picnic basket for lunch on the grass at Strawberry Fields; • Ring in the New Year by watching the famous ball drop in Times Square; • Catch a Tony Award-winning show or late-night TV favorite David Letterman on Broadway; • See the Knicks take the court or the Rangers hit the ice at historic Madison Square Garden;
