About the Panther Club

The Panther Club is Adelphi University’s official organization dedicated to the support of the athletics department. It is an avenue for Adelphi alumni, parents, and friends to support our student-athletes on the fields of play, in the community and in the classroom. The Panther Club is led by an executive committee which meets periodically to coordinate club and fund raising activities. The committee works closely with the University administration, the Director of Athletics, and the athletics staff to identify prospective donors and organize outreach plans. Through an expanding network of members, The Panther Club provides opportunities for alumni, parents and friends of the University to gather while also providing crucial support to our student-athletes and their goals.
Why the Panther Club? All contributions to the Panther Club assist the athletics department in providing the best possible experience for our student-athletes. Our goals are to support the student-athletes in earning their degree, assist them in becoming leaders on campus and providing them every resource possible to become champions in their sport. Your support allows us to meet the rising costs associated with college athletics today while recruiting the best and brightest student-athletes for tomorrow.

What are donations used for? All funds raised through the Panther Club are used to support our athletic programs. Common uses are team travel, locker room enhancements, additional equipment and scholarships.
The Parents’ Circle is the giving vehicle within the Panther Club that recognizes gifts from parents of all current and former Adelphi studentathletes. Parents and families of our studentathletes are a vital resource in assisting us as we strive to provide our students with the best experience possible during their time at Adelphi. Can I direct my gift to a specific team? Yes, each of our varsity programs has their own specific fundraising account within the Panther Club. Simply indicate to which team you would like to direct your gift. Additionally, there is a Panther Club General Fund which supports facilities and initiatives that benefit all student-athletes. Are my contributions tax-deductible? Yes, however, the Internal Revenue Service rules state that a donor cannot deduct the part of a donation that represents the value of benefits received. You will receive a written acknowledgement of your contribution and a good faith estimate of the value of any goods and services provided in exchange for the contribution.
