AIRPORTS COMPANY SOUTH AFRICA CALLS ON NON-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT Airports Company South Africa is calling on non-profit organisations, particularly those that are relatively small or located in remote areas, to submit proposals to receive funding in terms of the company’s socio-economic development programme. Refentse Shinners, the company’s Group Executive: Corporate Affairs, says non-profit organisations (NPOs) perform critical roles across all parts of South African society. She says South Africa should not only be proud of the selfless work of these organisations, but should provide them with as much support as possible. “Airports Company South Africa strives to do that through its socio-economic development strategy. This strategy drives us to support impactful NPOs with projects that can be sustained and expanded over time,” says Shinners. “We are looking for innovative, impactful and sustainable initiatives where our support can help to amplify their activities.” She says Airports Company South Africa sees socioeconomic development as distinct from charitable giving. “We all know about the acute challenges being felt every day across all sectors and regions of South Africa. There is therefore a particular need to use limited resources and funding to achieve the maximum impact possible.
