By Ron Cox A short time ago the folks in charge of the American Veterans' Traveling Tribute contacted Harley-David-
son of Ft. Myers (HDFM) asking if it would, through its HOG Chapter, provide an escort for the trailer con¬ taining the exhibit from the dealership to the spacious grounds of the Lee County Sports Complex. Since the exhibit was schedule to leave at 4pm on
a Thursday afternoon the thinking was if we get 50

bikes it would be a good showing. Much to every¬ one's surprise between 250 and 300 bikes and trikes jammed the parking lot at HDFM. When it comes to Veteran's issues you know Vets will show up in force.
(L-R) HOG Director Jack Fenwick,
The police escort was provided by the Lee County Sheriff's Office under the command of Sergeant Joe
HDFM Marketing Officer Jessica Fischer, Lee County Deputy Sheriff Sgt. Joe Bass
Bass. As HOG Chapter Director Jack Fenwick sig¬
naled "start 'em up" the rumble of motorcycles started a small seismic event. The ride lasted about 10 miles
and afterwards different groups and clubs posed for pictures in front of the trailer. American Veterans' Traveling Tribute travels the USA with the Cost of Freedom Tribute to provide a forum for members of the community to come together to Honor-Respect-Remember all those whom we have asked to stand in harm's way to protect and defend our great country and freedom as our way of life.
