Grade II listed refurbishment
The Royal Parks, St Mary’s Lodge, Greenwich Park
Highlights
Axis’ Heritage team won a new Grade II listed refurbishment project for The Royal Parks (TRP).
St Mary’s Lodge is situated in the north west corner of Greenwich Park and houses a café.
It was built in 1807-8 for the park under-keeper to designs by British architect John Nash. Nash’s best-known designs are the Royal Pavilion in Brighton; and Marble Arch and Buckingham Palace in London.
Our Heritage team’s external works included removing the roof covering and repairing the timber underneath. We supplied and installed a new breather membrane covering. Reinstating the roof, our team was happy to use some of the old and reclaimed slates to keep the building’s authenticity.
