Outcomes First Group is a leading education provider with over 70 schools and colleges across the UK. Through their Acorn Education brand, they work with neurodivergent children and young adults with multiple, complex and co-occurring needs – often with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD or dyslexia. CLC was tasked with undertaking a series of refurbishment projects at their Worcester site for Norton College.
INNOVATIONS
Norton College provides education for young people who do not benefit from mainstream educational settings. Recognising the sensitive nature of this environment, all refurbishment works were scheduled during nonterm time days to avoid disruption. Our Walsall team diligently worked on this site for a year, utilising nearly every holiday break to ensure the timely completion of these enhancements. This ensured that the educational activities of Norton College were not interrupted, and the students could continue their learning in an improved and supportive environment.
SOLUTION
This refurbishment and redecoration project covered several key areas of Norton College, such as the reception area, staff kitchenette, bathrooms, corridors, staircases, and other high-traffic zones. We completed 414.26sqm of new flooring, 371.30sqm of ceilings refurbishments, 39 windows replaced, 9 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms. Significant improvements were made to the bathrooms which underwent a complete transformation, now boasting bright, clean, and contemporary facilities with brand-new toilets and sinks. The comprehensive rework of these spaces has significantly improved the hygiene and comfort for students and staff.
To achieve these results, we collaborated with a range of trusted subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that each aspect of the project was completed to the highest standards. As the principal contractor, we worked closely with the client, and coordinated all efforts to deliver a seamless and efficient refurbishment process.
THE RESULTS
The project has provided the college with a much-needed refresh, greatly enhancing the environment for both students and staff. The successful completion of the Worcester site project has led to securing us additional works, including a further contract for bathroom upgrades and corridor redecorations at their sister site in Tewkesbury. The client’s satisfaction with our services is reflected in the glowing KPI reports they provided, affirming the high quality and effectiveness of our work.
