WATERMILLS THEMATIC PARK

Há paisagens bucólicas e reconfortantes. O Parque Temático Molinológico por ser uma dessas paisagens é das mais procuradas em Oliveira de Azeméis. Este espaço faz-nos recuar mais de dois séculos na história e transporta-nos ao modo de vida das padeiras e moleiros de antigamente e a um importante património industrial oliveirense.

Um conjunto de 14 moinhos de água recuperados e divididos por quatro núcleos permite ao visitante assistir ao vivo à moagem de cereais e à produção artesanal, em forno de lenha, do conhecido pão e regueifa de Ul. Trata-se de um local que carrega muitas memórias e histórias de vida ligadas à atividade produtiva da freguesia de Ul. A confeção do pão de Ul é uma prática ancestral e o saber desta tradição passou de mães para filhas resistindo até aos dias de hoje. Era dos moinhos que integram atualmente o Parque Temático Molinológico que saía a farinha de qualidade para a produção do tão apreciado pão. Depois de uma visita matinal ao parque nada melhor do que começar a manhã provando esta belíssima e saborosa iguaria.

There are bucolic and soothing landscapes. The water mills park is located in one of such landscapes, and it is consequently one of the most popular destinations. This spot makes visitors go back two centuries in time and takes them back to the lifestyle of those bakers and millers. The water mills are an important industrial heritage. A total of fourteen water mills, renovated and divided in four specific sections, allow the visitors to view live the grinding of the cereals and handmade production in a wood oven, of the well-known “Pão de Ul” and “Regueifa”. This place represents the life memories closely linked to the production of bread. Bakery is a century-long tradition which was taught from generation to generation, up to the present. The quality-flour used in the production of the bread, was grinded in these water mills, that are now part of the “Watermills Thematic Park”. After an early visit to the park, the best way to start the morning is by trying this tasty delicacy.
