TRIBUTE AWARDS FINALISTS The stage is set for the 28th Annual AMA/Cox Communications Tribute Awards on May 8 at the Phoenix Convention Center. This year the AMA received 658 nominations from 36 property management companies. Our 75 volunteer judges donated over 575 hours to complete the initial round of judging. The Tribute Awards program was developed to elevate our amazing individuals, teams and communities. It identifies the top performers and recognizes them, while it gives others a standard to shoot for. The Tribute Awards is about more than winning an award on one night, becoming a finalist or award recipient; it truly creates new opportunities for mentorship, leadership and creates a pathway to promotion. Over the past year, the AMA conducted significant research within our industry as well as evaluating best practices with other industry leaders to enhance the 2020 and beyond Tribute Awards Program. Third-Party research determined that our process is one of the most rigorous in the country. The playing field is level whether you are a large or small organization in Maricopa County, Tucson or any smaller market. Multiple evaluation tools and metrics are used to mitigate bias, including nominations, skills testing, interview process and secret shopping. The Tribute Awards strengthen one of Arizona’s most influential industries – real estate – which helps to strengthen all Arizona businesses and the state’s economy. The Tribute Awards help ensure we have strong leaders taking our industry to a new level in the future. Recognizing strong leaders creates stability and ethical practices for 37 percent of Arizonans living in rental homes. We are pleased to present the 2020 Tribute/Cox Communications Tribute Awards Finalist. Congratulations to you all. –Continued on next page

The federal LIHTC program has been responsible for constructing or renovating almost 3 million housing units nationwide, financing almost 45,000 units in Arizona alone since 1987. With a foreclosure rate of less than one percent for these properties,

People ultimately just want to be understood
The Mesa-based firm had just restructured to focus exclusively on service work for the commercial, multifamily and residential markets. It was this same year that it added HVAC services to its repertoire. “The AMA served as a springboard into professional relationships that have been invaluable to our growth as a company,” says Process Director Dallin Tippetts. “Deciding to dive into service work as opposed to construction projects was a difficult decision, but ultimately was a decision made for us due to the state of the economy at that time.”
derstanding and not just selling our services. – and we excel at that.” Multifamily is one of the most popular property types in Arizona with unprecedented growth and thousands of units under construction. How is Rainforest benefiting? “We are aware of the immense period of growth that Arizona is experiencing right now – growth that is heavily fueled by the multifamily industry,” Tippetts says. “In addition to this, residents’ expectation of quality and service is high. We know that our plumbing and air conditioning service is an extension of the excellence of the company who manages

business statistics beat all the averages. “This was made possible only because of the relationships forged through AMA membership,” Tippetts says. “We also could not have made our recent expansion into the Tucson market without the support of the AMA.” Industry groups are vital to the success of any business. How has Rainforest leveraged its standing in the Arizona multifamily community through its membership in AMA?
Personally, what does it mean to Tippetts that he is a member of AMA? “I joined Rainforest in 2012 and recently became a co-owner along with my father and brother. The very beginning of my path to get to where I am now began with the relationships cultivated in the AMA,” he says. “From being a part of the very first Lyceum leadership class in 2014 to my board service
