madame butterfly november 4–13 East meets West in a timeless and tragic love story The searing drama of Madame Butterfly comes brilliantly to life with new passion when told through the dynamic physicality of ballet. Experience the return of Australian choreographer Stanton Welch’s haunting account of love and betrayal, devotion and sacrifice, danced to Giacomo Puccini’s immortal score, complete with stunning sets and costumes.

the nutcracker december 2–26 The retirement of the current production of The Nutcracker that charmed the nation No holiday season is complete without the festive cheer of The Nutcracker. Join Ballet West for the retirement season of its sets and costumes, which will make way for a new, fantastical, magic-filled look in 2017, complete with Willam Christensen’s historic choreography and Tchaikovsky’s famous score. Bring your friends and family one more time to see why this is the longest-running full production in America.

the sleeping beauty february 10–26 The magical audience favorite is back by popular demand The timeless story of a sleeping princess, a handsome prince, and the triumph of good over evil take center stage in this beloved full-length classic that will delight children and parents alike. Adam Sklute’s renowned production highlights the romance and magic of the wildly popular fairytale.

the little mermaid march 30–april 2 An enchanted ballet perfect for the whole family Join Ballet West II dancers and students from the Ballet West Academy for a family adventure under the sea. Take a trip into Hans Christian Andersen’s watery world, complete with a brave mermaid, a prince in search of true love, and a devious sea witch.

april 7–15 Three diverse masterpieces that will transport you Three compelling works come to life in a program that explores the range of humanity. Take a journey to the Elysian Fields of George Balanchine’s ethereal Chaconne. Continue to Façades, Utah native choreographer Garrett Smith’s fascinating and innovative look at self awarness through a Baroque eye. The evening comes to a commanding conclusion with the Ballet West premiere of Kurt Jooss’ masterwork The Green Table, a powerful study of the tragedy and futility of war.
