Welcome

ONE & ALL! to the 4th Annual summer Banchory Beer Festival We’re older, wiser and we may have lost a wee bit of hair! Over the years we’ve listened to your feedback - we’ve tried and we’ve tested, and thanks to all your help this years festival will be better than ever!! We wouldn’t be here without you! So thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

Tokens MAKin’ MAKin’ IT RAIN MAKin’ IT IT RAIN RAIN

As with all our events, all the bars within the festival operate on a token based system, allowing for a quicker service at the bars and less waiting time for you. Tokens can be purchased using either cash or card.

5 tokens - £11 10 tokens - £22

BOOM!

This year our main focus is on supporting some of Scotland’s brilliant island gins, unique beers from across the UK all while trying to support the thriving local music scene and burgeoning food industry.

Two tokens equal either a pint of beer or cider, a gin/ rum & mixer or a glass of prosecco. All half pints are one token.

From racks of ribs, to unique gin botanicals and wildly hoppy IPA’s, this years festival has something for everyone!

All food vendors within the festival operate on a cash only basics and don’t partake in the token system.

We love to hear from you guys so if you’ve got any questions, please collar us for a chat during the festival. We hope you have a wonderful time with us here today and please drink responsibly. We’d like to thank our sponsors this year for their help with the festivalBancon Homes, Marks & Clerk, Mackie’s of Scotland and our design partners FortyTwo Studio.

r Bathtub Gin? It is said that during Prohibition in the US, bootleggers distilled gin illegally, mixing grain alcohol with flavourings (like juniper!) to disguise the taste, before topping up the tall bottles with water from a bathtub. Like gin, Laings has a long history. Since 1862, we have been a part of the North East and are now Scotland's largest, independent luxury kitchen, bathroom and bedroom retailer.

BATHTUB GIN SELFIE

Join us at our Bathtub Gin Photo Booth between 12pm and 5pm on Saturday or 1pm and 4pm on Sunday to take your Laings Bathtub Gin selfie! And don't forget to post your selfie on social media using the

ALL THE FOOD AMAZING STREET FOOD FROM ALL OVER the north east

Wild & Smokey, Wild and Smoky is a mobile restaurant cooking and serving the best of Scottish ingredients in a “Low ‘n’ Slow” barbecue method which is particular to the Deep South of the USA. We serve Scotch Aberdeen Angus Brisket, Shoulder of Pork, Pork Ribs, and Shoulder of Lamb, which has been dry rubbed with our special seasonings and slow cooked over Scottish oak, and fruit woods. We will also cook free-range chicken and kebabs over charcoal and wood smoke. These dishes will be served with our own sauces, slaws and sides in compostable packaging.

Wooden Fire pizzas, farmers grill, The Store is a family run Farm and Coffee shop producing our very own Aberdeen Angus Cattle for our butchery. The latest addition is The Farmers Grill giving customers the opportunity to taste our Aberdeen Angus beef from the farm just as it should taste!

12

We are a small family firm that makes handmade pizza from local artisan ingredients laid out before the public who choose what they wish to go onto their individual pizza. The pizzas are then baked in a wood-fired (old oak whisky barrels saved from landfill) clay oven. At each festival I source fresh ingredients (organic preferably) from local suppliers. As the public choose their ingredients I cater for carnivore, herbivore, vegan (no cheese or for a small extra charge soya cheese) and celiac (I make up some gluten free bases.)

Night Shift – Black IPA – 6.5% Abv

24/7 – Session IPA – 4.7% ABV

Cranachan Killer – Raspberry Fruit Beer –

5.5% ABV An oatmeal pale that has been “smashed” full of local raspberries and honey, enough of them “to feed a clan of Highlanders”. No seriously its full of them and it tastes amazing. Fierce Beer have literally taken the beer making rule book and told it to f@*k off…

Baby Faced Assassin – IPA – 6.1% ABV

Day Shift – Pale Ale – 5.0% ABV

Yankee – Pale ale – 4.3% ABV

When the Day Shift is done, the Night Shift takes over. Let your inhibitions go with this deep Black IPA. Velvety and smooth with a biting hoppiness that guarantees instant pleasure and a thirst for more.

A light and easy drinking pale ale that’s got a heap of hops in it. Citrus and pine with a great hoppy bitterness.

marillo, Chinook and Simcoe from the USA work in harmony with New Zealand’s Nelson Sauvin to produce a punchbowl aroma of lemon, tangerine and gooseberry, followed by a balanced grapefruit bitterness.

Brewed with 100% Citra hops that create aromas of mango, apricot, grapefruit & mandarin orange, along with a lasting, juicy, tropical fruit bitterness, the Baby-Faced Assassin is a deceptively drinkable India Pale Ale that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Be careful or it might sneak up on you!

Light and easy-drinking, it’s a beer that showcases the floral and citrus fruit aromas of the Cascade hop, grown in the Yakima Valley in Washington State, USA, projected against a back drop of soft Yorkshire water and golden promise pale malt.

Weizen – Wheat – 5.2% ABV

German style wheat beer using authentic German yeast helping to provide the great lemony, clove and banana flavours wanted from a wheat beer

GLUTEN FREE

Oundle, England

Super fresh hoppy aromas and a touch of Madeira cake sweetness mingle with apricot and apples. The palate is mouth-watering and balanced with a floral and very moreish hopped finish.

Lossiemouth

24

Nene Valley Brewery

Wonderfully balanced pale ale with a huge hop aroma giving way to malty sweetness and a gentle bitter finish

Lots of citrus fruit and light floral malty notes on the nose which move to tropical fruits and pineapple on the palate.

Supersonic – Wheat Beer - 6.5% ABV

This is a must try. My two favourite things combining here, Gin and Beer. A German style wheat beer that’s brewed using Gin botanicals. Aromas of juniper, lemons and kaffir limes lead to a full smooth body with more juniper and citrus notes. An open mind is required, not a stereotypical wheat beer by any means.
