British Columbian Precious

OPA LS Made in Canada Whistler, B.C.

AN ACCIDENTAL DISCOVERY In 1991 Bob Yorke-Hardy staked a gold mining claim on a mountain near Vernon, B.C. Three months later Bob and his associates were breaking rocks and accidentally discovered another kind of treasure, a rare and beautiful gemstone—the precious opal. Yorke-Hardy soon opened the first, and only commercial opal mine in Canada.

ONE-OF-A-KIND JEWELLERY Every opal is entirely unique, and reveals a singular pattern, brightness and “play of colour” that sparkles with every hue in the spectrum of light. Like snowflakes, no two opals are the same, and when you choose a precious opal you are buying a one-of-a kind gift. After training with two internationally prominent jewellery designers, he became a gem-cutter and jewellry designer, and has been designing and creating exclusive pieces of jewellery for over two decades. Chris primarily fashions his custom gold and silver jewellery featuring precious opal from the family-owned deposit. His exquisite designs also include gemstones such as Canadian diamonds, garnets, peridot, jade and minerals. Located in the Shops at the Westin Hotel 122-4090 Whistler Way, Whistler BC
