Introduction Famous Quotation: It is better to be alone than in bad company.

Best known for: being the first president.

What I find interesting: he was always calm in bad situations.

I chose this person because he formed our country.

Overcame a Hardship/Challenge I read that he overcame a challenge when his father died when he was 11 years old.

About 4 years later, his brother died.

I think that was very hard because he had no family left.

He had to work harder.

Showed Compassion and Empathy I read that he showed empathy for his troops because he tried to make sure they were all safe For example if there was a safer route he would take it so less lives were lost.

I think it was nice he made sure they didn't get hurt the best he could.

Took Action I read that in 1783, he took action by leading the Revolutionary War, which was when America overthrew the British.

I think that was a way of taking action because he marched and marched and did his job.

Persevered I read that he persevered by attacking the British so many times until he won the war. The war lasted from 1775 -1781 the reason why attacked a lot is because he didn't want to pay tax for no reason.

I think it is more than anything I will do in my life.

Impact: How Things are Different Today George Washington became president in 1789 because he wanted to protect the American colonies from the English.

Today we are independent.

I think it was important because if it hadn't been for him we might still be ruled by the English.

Demonstrated Bravery I read that he demonstrated bravery became the first president in1787.

I think that was brave because he could be shy and ask someone else to be president and it is hard to have the whole United Sates in your hands.

Communicated and Shared I read that he communicated by gathering troops and overthrowing the British. The colonists did not want to pay tax's for no reason to the British king because he took most of there money and there resources.

I think he communicated because he got troops and fought for freedom.

George Washington Persevered when: he attacked the English so many times during the Revolutionary War.

Showed compassion when: he helped his troops stay safe.

Took action by: leading the Revolutionary War.

Made a difference when: he overthrew the British and gave us freedom and independence.
