What I find interesting: she was the first woman to win a nobel prize in phyisics and not only that she was the first person to get two!
I CHOSE THIS PERSON BECAUSE She was the first woman to get a nobel prize in physics.
marie's family had many troubles. marie's mother was sick with a lung dIsease. when marie was 6 her father lost his job and their home and marie's family moved to a tiny apartment. I WONDER WHY Marie's father lost his job and their home. I THINK IT WAS HARD FOR MARiE because marie's mother did not want to spread the DIsease, so she did not hug or kiss her children.
during world war one marie equpped trucks with x-ray machines and trained people to use them. marie traveled to battle field areas to assist doctors. she helped save the lives of thousands of wounded solders.
I think it was hard to take solider's x-rays because she was probably tired.
marie was the first woman to receive a physics degree at the sorbonne in 1893. She was Brave because she was the only girl in her class.
marie discovered a new element and she named it "polonium" after poland. IT happened on July 18, 1898 in DeMareay's lab. I think that it took a lot of time to figure out that a new element was inside the rock because no one had ever seen it before.
in 1883, marie graduated from high school with top honors. she dreamed of becoming a scientist and she did become a scientist in 1891. I think it was hard to become a scientist because girls in poland could not go to college.
Marie ground up rocks for four years to gather a tiny sample. It weighed less than a feather. She did this because she knew something was in the rock adn wanted to find out what it was. It took a lot of work because it took four years.
Marie discovered two new elements: Polonia and radium. Radium is used to treat cancer. She worked hard to find the two elements.
PERSEVERED WHEN She tested a rock for four years
TOOK ACTION BY Discovering two elements--Radium and Polonium.
SHOWED COMPASSION WHEN she took x-rays in World War I because She was Assisting doctors to check for broken bones.
MADE A DIFFERENCE WHEN she discovered radium and no one had ever seen it before.
I'm A change maker when I Turn off the lights when I leave a room because I don't want to waste Electricity.
I'm Similar to my change maker because: i like to read and like science.
My Change maker is connected to Albert Einstein because they were both scientists.
