JACKIE ROBINSON WAS BORN IN CAIRO, GEORGIA ON JANUARY 31ST, 1919. 1 year after World war 1 ended. When Jackie was a young boy he was sick and tired of being called terrible names because he was black. Jackie felt angry and sometimes did loose loose his temper.
He was respected by some of his his teammates in college. Some of is team mates Because a black athlete was playing with them.
Jackie met a man named brach rickey, owner of then dodgers, He wanted Jackie to play for the dodgers, a major league team. Jackie was the first african American to play in the major leagues. Jackie had to prove he could keep his temper down so that he could play. Jackie kept his promise of keeping his temper down even if they called him a terrible name.
This Person is a changemaker because: 1. Jackie was the first african american to play int he major leagues 2. He was rookie of the year 3. He had numerous challenges of being treated unfairly when he was young
