Martin Luther King Jr's house was bombed in 1956 because some people disagreed with his beliefs that everyone should be equal. at the time, african-americans were treated unfairly and they were segregated. I think every person should be treated fairly no matter what skin color. If i lived at that time i would agree with Martin Luther king jr.
Martin had empathy and compassion for black people because he had experienced unfair treatment as a boy. For example, a bus driver made him stand up for a white person. The black people were separated from the white people. i would feel sad if that happened to me. at some point you would have to stand up for yourself like rosa parks.
He was not afraid to say what he thought and believed. He could have been arrested, but he didn't care because he wanted everyone to know that it doesn't matter what skin color you have. I think everyone's skin color is great and everyone should be treated fairly.
On May 2, 1963, thousands of children protested by marching and singing hymns and freedom songs. The police arrested children that marched. A lot of kids went to jail, so many, they had to use buses to drive them to jail. I think it's mean for the fire fighters to shoot them with water and I think it's mean that police officers let their dogs attack them. I don't think this will happen in California.
martin luther king jr. saw a lot of violence in his life. he had a strong mind because he fought back with his words and peace, not his hands or weapons. i think that would be hard to do. Sometimes I hit my sister because i get really mad at her.
Martin Luther King JR. had perseverance when he was marching for equal rights and he knew he could get in trouble, but he kept going. he was not afraid.
when Martin was little, white people were not allowed to play with black people. now you can play with who ever you want to. also, the schools are not segregated any more. I think every skin color is awesome.
