Introduction Famous Quotation: "The women who can create her own job is the women who will win fame and fortune." Best known for: being the first women to fly from Hawaii to California.
What I find interesting is that she was one of the first female pilots.
3 Key Qualities:
I chose this person because I really like airplanes and seeing clouds really close up. And I really like flying.
1. took action, 2. persevered, 3. bravery.
Overcame a Hardship/Challenge Amelia and Sam, a handsome engineer, did flying training together. Amelia was one of the first girl pilots.
It might have been hard for her to be one of the first girl pilots even though the law was fair.
Showed Compassion and Empathy But they had made it across the ocean and now Amelia was famous. She insisted that Bill and Slim, two men that she flew with, did all the work.
I think she was really nice to say that Bill and Slim did all the work. It was nice not to brag.
Took Action After Amelia completed her solo flight around the Atlantic one thing led to another in 1935. She became the first women to fly from Hawaii to California.
She took action because she was the first women to fly from Hawaii to California.
Persevered One day as she stood watching the planes, the propellers blew snow in her face. She felt an urge to fly!
I think she never gave up on trying to fly. Because she really wanted to fly and she kept going until she got it right.
Impact: How Things are Different Today She was one of the first female pilots. She showed people that it was dangerous and fun.
She took a lot of people in the plane and they loved it. Amelia became famous with all the help of Bill and Slim.

Demonstrated Bravery It was dangerous but she wanted to prove herself, and to anyone else that was interested, that an experienced women pilot could fly across the Atlantic Ocean.
