"If you don't try to win you might as well hold the Olympics in somebody's back yard." "One chance is all you need." Jesse Owens if best know for being an Olympic runner. I found Jesse Owens interesting because he won four gold medals at the Olympics. Three qualities that describe Jesse are perseverance, compassion/empathy and takes action. I picked Jesse Owens because he was an Olympic runner and because he kept trying and he never gave up!
i read that jesse owens had to eat take out meals or eat in blacks only restaurants. i think that he didn't like that he could not eat in restaurants with everybody else.
i read that jesse OWENS SPONSORED sports programs in poor neighborhoods. I THINK THAT IT WAS NICE OF JESSE OWENS TO SPONSOR SPORTS IN POOR NEIGHBORHOODS because people who wanted to play a sport could not afford to.
Jesse owens tied the world record for the 100 yard dash. he was invited to Ohio State University in 1933. I think that he worked really hard to be able to tie the world record for the 100-yard dash.
