Rachel carson is best known for trying to tell people that chemical bug spray is bad. she wrote books about it. she said that it would kill bugs, and other people wanted that. but rachel did not. rachel also said that bug spray kills birds and other animals and it was bad for the environment. People even sprayed it inside where they could breathe it in!

I think that she was being a good person to tell other people that chemical bug spray is bad. she could have kept it to herself and let other people get hurt, but she wanted to help them!
it was a challenge for rachel and her family when she was the only one who could eaRn money, because her dad usually lost his job. Rachel got a scholarship to go to college because she was so into being a marine biologist. Rachel loved learning about animals, and how they lived, and studying stuff like frogs, fish and starfish. She got a job after college it was perfect because her job was about the ocean. she wrote it was her first time writing scripts but rachel was really good at it. it was also a challenge when she adopted her niece and her nephew. it was hard because it was just her.

rachel carson communicated by talking in speeches and through books. rachel helped people understand that ddt was a mistake. everybody used it to kill bugs inside their houses because they did not know about the chemicals until rachel wrote a book about it called silent spring. she said "silent" because there would be no birds no animals to make noise unless people stopped using ddt.
rachel carson solved the problem of ddt. Rachel learned that ddt was killing everything when she studied in the forest. the trees were dead, the birds, were, the fish too, and even more people got sick.
Rachel showed compassion for others when she explained about ddt so that animals could live and people would not get hurt. People said it does not hurt us, "ha, ha, ha." but it actually did.
ddt hurts people too!
the people who made and sold ddt got worried that people would stop buying ddt, if they believed Rachel's books, and they were right! and so they wrote a book about ddt and how no one could live without it. they told rachel, "your books are totally wrong!" they paid 100s and 1000s of dollars but everybody was starting to believe rachel. finally they changed the law that only professionals who knew what they were doing about the chemicals could use ddt.
are you sure?

You're not all here a owed to us e DDT ny mo r people e still m but some a sell it to oth ke DDT and er cou ntries .
Rachel Carson was brave to persevere when no one believed her. when scientists believed her, John f. kennedy read "silent spring" in a speech. then everybody believed her.
without rachel, we would probably be dead because ddt kills everything and if she was not alive we might still use it!
Making DDT stop was what she was working on for her whole life!
