best known for... THomas jefferson ordered lewis and clark to explore the west and find the pacific ocean to have more land for the government. Sacagawea helped them get horses to succeed. She was the first woman to see the pacific ocean with white men! Birth: 1789 or 1790 in what is now idaho we don't know when she was born because she's an NATIVE AMERICAN AND THEY DON'T KEEP TRACK.
Kidnapped from tribe
Died: 1812 at a trading post. december 1805 "ocean in view! Oh! the Joy!" Expedition reaches oregon coast 1804 invited to travel with corps of discovery, lewis & clark
baby born right after they left, oh no!
sacagawea gets really sick and almost died!
hail storm struck! one member died! oh no!
sacagawea endured hardships when Sacagawea was 10 or 11. a different tribe, the hidastsa, kidnapped her because she dropped her doll. her mother tried to get her to keep walking but she didn't listen so she got kidnapped. her friend got kidnapped too, but she escaped! but sacagawea did not escape. she got taken to a new tribe with a new language and a new family. with lewis and clark, she saw her family again!
If I was her, I might just let them take me far away, and I would be scared!
sacagawea took a risk WHEN she was reAdy to have a baby but it wouldN't come out! but captAin clark made a raTTlEsnake pOTIOn, AND like ten minUtEs later a baby came out! clark callEd him pomp his real name was jEAn baPTISTE. Even though she was getting ready to have a baby, she went on the journey!
I think that this story shows that Sacagawea was really risk-taking! I think that she would rather go on the journey-even with a little baby--than stay "a prisoner among strangers" in the town!
SACAGAWEA Thought OF OTHERS on the expedition BECAUse sacagawea USUALLY COLLECTED all the plants and ROOTS for their food while SHE was on land. then, when it was time for dinner she would cook them and get them READY. then she would let everyone have some.
I wonder if they expected her to find and cook food for them, because she was a woman. what do you think?
it was 1805 in late may sacagawea had to persevere when they were half way through the mountains, because there was BALLS OF ICE the size of baseballs. once they hit the ground they would bounce 15 feet high and then hit the ground again. sacagawea didn't turn back. one hit a man, and he died.
I THInK THAT IF I WAS SACAGAWEA I WOULD TuRN BACK!
Sacagawea communicated and shared ideas with others when they tried to get horses on the journey. THe captain would say something to a french person, the french person would say it to charbonneau, charbonneau would say it to sacagawea would say it to her tribe and her tribe would get her the horses.
sacagawea got very ill, very, very ill, in june 1805, and she was very brave and she said that she could keep walking but the captain said, "no!" She got well! there was ANother time that she was brave on the trip. Sacagawea didn't know how to swim but the boat tipped over and she jumped in the water and saved the supplies and food. if she hadn't saved it, they could have died!
She was very brave to drink his made up medicine!
Because of Sacagawea, they got horses, so they could go on the journey! if sacagawea did not go on the journey there might not be states in oklahoma, kansas, nebraska, south dakota, noth dakota, new mexico, colorado, wyoming, montana, idaho, washington, oregon, nevada, arizona, and california! THanks to sacagawea, the whole U.S.A. is together.
I'm Similar to my changemaker because i like to have adventures!
I'm A changemaker when I help animals.
