introduction Famous Quotation:

"I have traveled a long way to see the great waters. Now that you are going to see the monstrous fish , I think it is very hard that I cannot go!" She said this to Captain Clark because she wanted to go see the whale that had washed up on the shore.

Best known for being the only woman to participate in the Lewis and clark expedition to find the northwest passage, a water route that was supposed to connect the atlantic and pacific oceans.

What I find interesting is that sacagawea was married when she was 16 years old. I feel like 16 years old is very young to get married!

Hardship/challenge because it was hard to be cold, wet and hungry with fleas

I CHOSE THIS PERSON BECAUSE she is a female like me! I think I can be brave and courageous like her. I like to play with my younger brother who is five and sometimes we pretend that we're on a rocket ship. We like space exploration!

Takes action because she brought food and medicine back to shore when the boat tipped over Bravery because she was the only woman on the expedition. she was not afraid to say what she thought to the men in charge.

when sacagawea was young, her tribe was invaded by the minnetaree tribe. The Minnetaree stole their horses and killed many women and children including Sacagawea's mother. Sacagawea and her friend were taken as prisoners. I think it was hard for her because she had to live and work in the fields with another tribe that she doesn't know.

on june 29, 1805, a terrible storm hit. sacagewea was holding her baby walking along a dry creek bed. a flash flood roared down the ravine. the water was waist high. pomp's cradle board was swept away, but sacagawea hung on to her baby. i think she cared her baby so he wouldn't fall and get hurt.

sacagawea and charbonneau joined the lewis and clark expedition. i think she was brave to join when she was about to have a baby.

Sacagawea was on a boat and it capsized and all the supplies : Food and medicine went into the water. She saved the materials and brought it to shore. I think she did this by herself and did it fast.

She was traveling west to the pacific Ocean. THe rain rotted their clothes, the men had fleas and they didn't have enough food. Finally on November 7, 1805, they found the ocean. I think it was hard because they were on a boat and they were very uncomfortable. It would tempting to give up and go back to where they started.

PERSEVERED WHEN... she was on a boat with fleas and lots and lots of rain. the goal was to get to the ocean and they were on a river. they kept trying and trying and finally they got to the ocean.

SHOWED COMPASSION WHEN... there was a hurricane they had to climb a mountain, she carried her son on her back but the carrier broke so she climbed while holding him in her arms.

TOOK ACTION BY...

MADE A DIFFERENCE WHEN..

they were on a boat and the boat tipped over and she jumped in to save all the minerals and bring them back to shore.

she helped lewis and clark find a water route to the northwest with the pacific ocean.

I'm A change maker when I. help the bay.

I'm Similar to my change maker because: i like to go on adventures to.

My Change maker is connected to AMelia Earhart because amelia was the first woman pilot and sacagawea was one of the first femaile explorers. THey were both very brave to try new things that women didn't usually do!
