teddy's early life was easy because his family was able to afford a big house and servants, but not so, so easy because he suffered asthma, a terrible disease that made it hard for him to breathe. so teddy did everything he could to get stronger like lifting dumbbells and doing pull-ups and finally he got over it in his teens. but with asthma, it made him very weak.

I think that being a sickly kid encouraged him to be a strong man like he was.
theodore was brave because he was the commander of the spanish american war in 1898. before he went he brought 12 pairs of glasses, just in case! his soldiers were the 'rough riders,' a group of volunteers who fought on san juan hill. after they won teddy said,it was 'the great day of life.' it all started when mCkinley sent a battleship called the maine. but on the night of february 15 1898 the maine exploded! 260 men were killed many people blamed it on the spanish. people thought u.s should go to war experts believe the explosion was an accident. teddy was thrilled. he believed spain had attacked u.s and the u.s should defend its honor.

teddy thought of others when he was president because he helped coal miners in pennsylvania going on strike because the conditions were not fair, and they were being paid too little for too much time so he talked the owners into making it fair. part of the reason they listen to him was because he was president.
teddy solved problems because from new york to california it was 13,00o miles by boat! but teddy knew better, so he decided to dig a canal through panama, a small country in between north america and south america. he started building it in 1904. in 1914 ten years later it was finished. only 5,200 miles! before that people said that was impossible, but he proved it was possible.
the railroads were Another problem that Teddy solved. As soon as teddy became president, he went after the railroads. he wanted to make sure that they didn't join togeher to set high prices. when companies compete, prices go down. when companies agree not to compete, prices go up! even though the companies were so strong, with really rich people, owning them, teddy said to himself, "they are doing the wrong thing, so I have to stop them!"
teddy took a risk when he went to give a speech after his president years were over in milwaukee, wisconsin. luckily he had a script in his shirt pocket, because at the speech he was shot! the bullet went through script slowing down momentum of the bullet and punctured his right lung instead of killing him. instead of postponing the speech he did the whole three hour speech with a bullet in his right lung!
Even after he was president, teddy was brave and daring! Teddy, with the bullet still in his right lung, took a daring raft trip on an unexplored, unmapped river with giant rapids and rocks. Theodore almost died, but he made it home. The government of brazil renamed it the Theodore roosevelt river!
Because of Teddy, the world is covered with green, not all city with pollution. There are still places you can visit that teddy preserved in the 19th century!
I think that the Panama Canal was also good for the environment. Less Pollution!
