I wanted to learn more about her and her life. I also wanted to learn about how she became a talk show host.
oprah's parents were young and poor. Her mom couldn't take of her, so she left young oprah to live with her grandparents. i think oprah felt sad because she didn't get to have a lot of time with her parents. But, the good thing is that her grandmother taught her how to read, write, and do math.
Every day on her show, oprah encourages people to live their best life. I think oprah feels like she's helping a lot now and can help more if she wants to.
When oprah was little, kids picked on her and called her names like miss jesus and preacher. I think oprah felt upset but she didn't want it to happen to any one else.
Oprah donates money and books to schools all over the united states and has funded the building of libraries around the world. I THINK Oprah really likes books and wants other people to have books too so they can learn more about the world.
As a kid, she said, "I want to be paid to talk." Oprah wanted to see more black people on tv because you could go without seeing one black face on tv for a month of sundays. I think oprah set her mind to becoming a talk show host and did. It's like my dad saying, "if you want to do something really bad, put your mind to it."
the people at the tv station loved the tape and wanted oprah to come for an interview. oprah was thrilled, but nervous. everybody,exc ept her best friend , told her it wouldn't work. I think oprah was unique because she believed in herself so much and didn't listen to the other people saying negative things to her.
at the time that Oprah lived, black women were not talk show hosts. they were not even on TV at all, but now black women are on TV a lot. I think Oprah felt like it was really unfair and black people were treated unfairly. it was really upsetting, but i think oprah wanted to be treated fairly.
I'm Similar to my change maker because I am brave and she is brave and I like talk shows and she likes talk shows too.
