Devon & Exmoor Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe is a picturesque costal town on the North Devon Coast which was traditionally a fishing village but grew in the Victorian period as pleasure seekers arrived. It is bordered by a natural area of outstanding natural beauty that is renowned for its unique character and spectacular scenery.

Friday To north Devon and we make a stop in Barnstaple of the River Taw, one of the oldest towns in England and today is market day.

Tours whilst at resort

A | We visit Bideford on the River Torridge, full of history and narrow streets leading to the quay. Then a short stop in Appledore, a quiet resort with beautiful views across the estuary.

B | Onto Exmoor viewing wonderful scenery as we pass via Simonsbath and Wheddon Cross to call at Dunster, Exmoor’s prettiest village. Then along the stunning coast road to call at Lynmouth, nestling in the valley and overlooked by Lynton which is accessible by a cliff railway.

Last Day We head for home with a stop in Weston Super Mare.
