With numerous bays, beaches and coves to discover, here are our firm favourites…
Anne Port
This small secluded bay, found at the north-east of the island, has a combination of pebbles and fine sand. Limited parking means the bay is often quiet, but parking can be found just a short walk from the beach. Archirondel
Archirondel
Found on the east coast, the unspoilt beach and spectacular views of St Catherine’s make it a popular destination for locals and holidaymakers alike. Access isn’t easy and the pebbles may prove problematic for wheelchair users. Beauport
Beauport
Surrounded by cliffs, this sheltered sand-andpebble bay is accessed via a steep wooded incline, which means it’s rarely overcrowded. Its pristine water makes it perfect for snorkelling. Named after the grass-covered rock just off the coastline and accessible at low tide, this beach is situated at the southerly tip of the island. Here beachgoers can enjoy silky sand, rock pools, gullies and clear waters.
Grève de Lecq
Stretching between the parishes of St Mary and St Ouen, this is the most accessible and frequented beach on the north coast. Visitors can enjoy sandy shores with safe swimming during the summer months.

Situated next to St Brelade’s Bay, which can be reached on foot at low tide, this secluded sandy beach is less crowded than its neighbour, making it popular with families.

Shouldered by high cliffs on the dramatic north coast, this picturesque beach is accessed by a long staircase. Great for swimming on calm days and surfing when the wind picks up, searching in rock pools at low tide or visiting the caves by kayak.

BEACH SAFETY Always read and obey the safety signs, usually found at the beach entrance. Where possible, swim between the red and yellow flags at beaches patrolled by lifeguards.

Located on the south coast, this golden sandy beach and clear waters attract swimmers and snorkellers. The beach is accessed via a long stairway which may prove unsuitable for visitors with mobility issues.
Rozel Bay
This beautiful fishing port on the north-east coast, although charming, isn’t the traditional pleasure beach. However, low tide reveals a small sandy beach perfect for sunbathing, and safe swimming at high tide
St Aubin’s
Popular for water sports, this beach stretches from St Helier to the harbour at St Aubin. The sandy shores are popular with volleyball players and you can walk to Elizabeth Castle when the tide permits.

St Brelade’s
This large sheltered bay is one of the busiest beaches on the island. It offers plenty of activities, including banana boat rides, canoe, paddle board and kayak hire, trampolining and volleyball.
St Ouen’s
Situated on the west coast, this long sandy bay’s exposure to the Atlantic makes for perfect surfing, but with strong currents even the most accomplished swimmers should take care.
