We can’t wait for summer camp season 2021! Here is a sneak peak of some of the camps we will be offering. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and check our website often for updates for information including descriptions, dates, fees and more! Perfect for working parents, our K.E.E.P. Camp is back for children entering grades K - 6 for the 21/22 school year. Learn dance techniques/routines, cheers, poms, proper stretching and warm-up exercises while having a lot of fun in Little Broncettes. Participate in a wide variety of fun and exciting activities in Discovery Camp. Our Summer Series Weekly Camp run throughout the summer and include games, arts and crafts and a theme-related field trip every Friday!

Some of the most important aspects of early development are becoming comfortable with separation, encouraging independence and fostering communication skills. The Park District is keenly aware this year is full of crucial cognitive milestones that are preparing them for kindergarten. They are starting to get the hang of numbers, patterns, time and even starting to read. They are expanding critical thinking skills, such as identifying, classifying, comparing, contrasting, sequencing, predicting and problem solving. Advances in hand-eye coordination help four-year-olds do puzzles and play with toys that have small parts. Rock ‘n’ Kids is Rockin’ at Home!

AGES: 1 - 6 YEARS Sing, dance, play and learn YOUR way in this virtual music and movement class! Registered participants will receive an email from Rock ‘n’ Kids on Monday’s at 8:00am with that week’s pre-recorded, private, 30-minute virtual class, allowing families to participate on their own time. Links will expire one week after the last class for the session is distributed. The session’s musical activities will be based on the theme of “A Whole New World!” Each week we will pretend to ride on our magic carpets to explore a new place! A pirate ship? The jungle? Outerspace? It will be a musical adventure! Activities will include opening songs, weekly theme introduction, 5 - 6 additional music activities and closing songs. Along with class content supplemental activities will be included to enhance your child’s learning. AGES: 1 - 5 YEARS WITH PARENT Music Masters 2 / Family combo is perfect for ages 1 - pre-K and offers 45 minutes of music and movement, rhythm and readiness, and purposeful play through music rhythm instruments, music picture books, dancing, singing and marching to develop musical intelligence through music. Hands-on Cooking by iCook After School VIRTUAL

AGES: 5 - 11 YEARS (GRADES K - 5) iCook is offering a fully-immersive LIVE virtual cooking program for our young chefs. This winter, our chefs-in-training will learn how to make delicious and nutritious recipes using nutritious ingredients. We will travel across the globe to learn about cuisine and traditions. We will learn about seasonal eating, various spices and how they enhance the aroma and flavors of our dishes as we master cooking safety, slicing, dicing, chopping, folding, baking, zesting, mixing, and more! New Year’s Pajama Pamper Night

AGES: 4 - 10 YEARS Come join Glitzy Girlz staff and beat the blues of winter and the past year! Put on your favorite jammies and join your friends and pamper yourself! The Glitzy Girlz staff will teach you how to do your own pedicures and manicures and how to perfect your nail polish. Each participant will design their own beaded glitzy bracelet with a personal charm. Glitzy Girlz staff will provide each participant with their own supply kit for class, including a nail brush, cuticle stick, lotion, scrub and buffer that they will also get to take home after class. The children will have a blast, as they learn exactly what to say and do when performing in front of an audience. Since this class is an online video, it can be taken whenever it is convenient for your schedule. And, all of Gary’s online videos can be watched again and again. With the help of our weekly, LIVE, interactive Mad Scientist, your child can continue to explore science around them. Little Newton’s Learning Lab: Preschool STEM Series AGES: 3 - 6 YEARS This series of classes is designed specifically for preschoolers and their grown-up helper!

Mad Science interactive, online program include: • Live virtual classes for kids to interact with Mad Scientists and peers. • Classes that meet for 4 consecutive weeks. Class will be 30 minutes in length with an optional 10-15 minutes for Q&A, guided builds or other optional activities. • Programs will be recorded and available for one week so kids can ‘catch up’ if they miss a live class. • Each child will receive their very own Experiment Pack filled with Mad Science Take Homes! AGES: 7 - 13 YEARS With all the uncertainty we have experienced in 2020, celebrations saying GOODBYE to 2020 and HELLO to 2021 will be monumental and memorable this New Years! This self-esteem building lab experience offers incredibly fun activities and games to boost our children’s gifts and talents for 2021. Everyone is good at something, we just have to roll up our sleeves and figure it out. Through wacky dramatizations and experiences, kids will have the chance to cultivate self-worth and will not even realize they are working on it! What to expect? Interactive games like: Splat Ball Scatter, Lollipop Marathon, King’s Throne, Balloon Bust, Whirling Confetti Storm, Compliment Café, and more! Kid’s emotional “buckets” will get filled and will likely be overflowing with confidence when they depart this class. Private Drum Lessons

AGES: 4 - 5 YEARS AND 6 YEARS AND UP These one-on-one private lessons are designed for beginner (ages 4 - 5), intermediate and advanced students (ages 6 years and up). All styles, including rock, jazz, funk and blues are taught. If interested, students can also learn mallet percussion. Each lesson is 25 minutes in length for ages 4 - 5, and 30 minutes in length for ages 6 and up. Prior to the start date of the session, the instructor will contact you with the time of your lesson. Please note: Lessons will be taught maintaining 6 ft. of physical distancing between student and the instructor and all other health and safety guidelines from Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan will be followed. Drop off and pick up will be curbside and only the participant and instructor are allowed in the room. Additional supplies: students have the option of purchasing a music book and/or supplies (drumsticks) on their own or from the instructor for an additional fee. K.E.E.P. 2.0 Remote Learning AGES: K - 5th Grade This program has been running with great success and we look forward to continuing the program into the new year. This recreation-based program is designed to provide children with a safe environment to conduct self-directed e-learning and participate in enrichment activities, games, socialize and explore the outdoors and park facilities when not actively engaged in school work. Children are assigned to pods in a format that meets all health and safety guidelines of the Restore Illinois Plan. K.E.E.P. 2.0 takes place at the Barrington Park District and there are both full day and half day options based on the Return to School Plan” distributed by Barrington School District 220. Gentle Yoga - Beginner

AGES: 16 YEARS AND UP This ultimate yoga experience is for someone who is looking for a more strength-based yoga class. Each week we will have skill challenges where the kids will get to practice and compete in different aspects of nerf action, then we will have an all-out battle to wrap up each week. High School Basketball Program

BOYS & GIRLS IN GRADES: 9 - 12 The High School Basketball Program has never been more fast-paced and exciting! This new 3v3, short court, format is sure to bring some high intensity action to the hardwood. Boys’ & Girls’ Basketball Program: Grades 3 - 8

The Barrington Park District has long been known for its basketball program, which is both extremely fun and instructional. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in this high-energy program for budding hoops players. Whether your child is new to the game, or looking to improve their basketball skills, this program is the perfect way to have fun playing hoops! GENERAL INFORMATION • Participants are grouped by grade level; Grades 3 & 4, Grades 5 & 6, Grades 7 & 8 are combined to create age-appropriate teams. • Each squad will have a max of 48 players.

• Practices will be held at intra-squad scrimmage times (times listed on the next page).

• Players cannot play up, or down, a level.

• Practices WILL NOT be held during the regular season.

• Players will be evaluated by volunteer coaches before the start of the scrimmages.

• Players MUST bring their own basketball, labeled with their first and last name to every practice.

• Players cannot request to be with any specific player or intra-squad scrimmage team.

• Players MUST wear face coverings and athletic shoes to all practices (except while actively participating in competition/practice).

HEAD COACHES ALWAYS NEEDED! As our programs grow and adapt, so does our need for volunteer coaches. Without the support of these volunteers, this program would not be possible. Job Description: The coach should be a sincere, caring individual who can dedicate a few hours each week to the program. He/She should also have some knowledge of the sport, serve as a positive role model who encourages good sportsmanship, be safety conscious, have patience and enthusiasm, and most of all, make sure everyone has a great time! Coach’s Training: All volunteers will be able to participate in a brief coach’s meeting to help prepare them for the program. Practice and scrimmage ideas will be shared, and coaches will be able to ask questions to the program supervisor and other coaches. Developmental Basketball Program

BOYS & GIRLS IN GRADES 1 - 2 The “D-League” is a great program for younger kids who cannot wait to jump into league-style basketball for the first time. Participants will have fun, while learning the fundamentals of the game. To help practice the basics of shooting, the baskets will be lowered to 8 feet. A junior size basketball (27.0”-27.5”) will be used to help each player work on dribbling and passing. Player-to-Player defense is taught, using colored wristbands worn be each player on the court. Scrimmages will be slowed down and stopped to help instruct players. No score is kept in “D-League”, the focus is all about having fun! E-Town Tennis

Junior Tennis Level information: Quick Start 1 & 2: For Ages 4 - 7 Years Quick Start Tennis is used to help develop skills and play tennis games utilizing smaller sized rackets, low compression tennis balls and smaller court sizes. This program develops proper technique and is great for all ages. Students progress at a faster pace through each skill test using regulation tennis balls and courts designed for their own unique abilities and needs. Beginner/Advanced Beginner: For Ages 7 - 13 Years Beginner class is ideal for ages 7+ just taking up tennis. Instruction includes eye-hand coordination, racquet skills, stroke production with emphasis on ground strokes, serve, return and volleys. Court position, scoring and singles and doubles strategy are introduced. Advanced beginner classes are for the students who have had basic instruction but need further review of fundamentals. Stroke development, footwork, strategy and match play are included. Prorating and Rain Make-Up Policies Tennis classes will not be prorated. Those who cannot complete a class due to injury/health reasons may receive a prorated refund after submitting a doctor’s note. Missed classes may be made up by attending an equivalent class within the same session. To find out whether your class has been cancelled due to rain, please call the Barrington Park District’s RainOut line at (847) 268-2268. If your tennis class is rained out, you either may attend an equivalent-level class within the same session or the instructor will discuss a make-up with the participants at the next class after the rain out.

Beginner Pickleball

AGES: 16 YEARS AND UP This class is for those who have never played Pickleball before or who have very limited experience with the sport. It will focus on Pickleball basics such as forehand and backhand shots, serving and court positioning. Players will also learn scoring and rules of the game through drills and playing time. The slower pace of this class will give players the opportunity to develop the skills needed to play this fun and energetic game.
