Park District - Contact/Hours/Letter from the Director
Administrative Staff
A new and exciting inclusive playground will be installed late spring in Concord Park, formerly Meinhard Park. The Barrington Park District was awarded the 2019 Illinois Park & Recreation Association’s Healthy Play and Recreation Initiative which will provide assistance in the development of this inclusive playground in the amount of $32,289.50. The initiative is a partnership between IPRA, PlayCore and GameTime to promote education and research-based best practices in the creation of play. The restoration of Flint Creek running from Langendorf Park, through the Village of Barrington’s property and concluding at Hart Road on School District 220’s property will begin this year. The Flint Creek Dreamway Restoration Project was initiated by Joe Kelsh who passed away in September 2017. We are pleased to have received an IEPA grant of $340,000.00 toward the $566,000.00 project. This spring, a new filtration system will be installed at the Aqualusion Pool. The pool is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend, however, opening day may be changed based upon the completion of the new filtration system. We will keep patrons and residents notified via our website, facebook, e-mail and the marquee on Route 14. Sincerely,

Rosie & The Rivets
SM6
Rosie & The Rivets perform the best danceable music of the 1950’s and early 1960’s along with some current hits with a retro twist. You’ll hear early rock, rockabilly, girl group, surf and soul authentically and expertly performed by professional entertainers.
Good-time family band SM6 is George, Isabel, Adam, Emily, Eliana and Jack, a tight-knit group of siblings who put out highenergy songs with catchy melodies, ear-pleasing harmonies, dance-worthy rhythms and relatable lyrics that celebrate their love of spreading joy through music. Wise beyond their years with a thoughtful, playful approach to writing and arrangements, the group performs a combination of imaginative covers and fresh originals that ring out with elements of indie pop, rock and folk. SM6 pulls audiences of all ages into its funfilled orbit through dynamic live shows and recordings.

All of our campers and outside camp groups who visit our pool go through a swim test with our lifeguard staff. After the test, the child is given a color coded wristband that represents which areas of the pool they are allowed to swim in. The color codes are easy to understand because they follow the colors of a Stoplight.
Red - The child should only be seen in the zero depth pool (baby pool). The child should NOT be going down a waterslide.
Yellow - The child is allowed to be in the zero depth pool and the large activity pool. The child is allowed down the flume or body slides but NOT the diving board or drop slides.
Pool - Wristband Safety System
Safety is a priority for the Barrington Park District. The past couple of summers, you have seen more and more youth swimmers wear wristbands. These wristbands do mean something, and you can help us keep our children safe by understanding the Wristband Safety System.
Pool - Rules/Wristband Safety
Wristband Safety System
Green - The child is able to swim in all pools, go down all slides and go off the diving board.
If you see a child in the wrong pool, please notify pool staff or camp staff immediately. Wristband Safety System posters are up throughout the pool area to help explain the wristbands.
Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Help us keep our children safe!

Youth - S.E.S.M. Workshops
Self-Esteem Science Machine (S.E.S.M) Workshops At Lisa Lombardi Coaching, the staff of life coaches, entrepreneurs and engineers inspire children through a fusion concept of pairing up science and entrepreneurship with self-esteem concepts. Whether your kiddos are naturally talented at science and entrepreneurship or not, your children will have the opportunity to walk away from a S.E.S.M. workshop feeling confident. Self-esteem stems from a sense of contributing to society and that our ideas are valued. A feeling of self-worth may lead to children in the future taking chances on their ideas and efforts. Exploration and self-esteem really do go hand in hand and it’s fun! Everybody is good at something and we embrace that at Lisa Lombardi Coaching!
Perseverance Punch! Life Coaching for Kids
AGES: 6 - 13 YEARS What do Michael Jordan, Walt Disney, Thomas Edison, J.K. Rowling, and Mark Zuckerberg all have in common? PERSERVERANCE! Despite feeling or being told they couldn’t do something, they persevered to be some of the most famous people in the world. They kept “punching through” until they got what they wanted, and this is the growth mindset we want for our children. Through outrageously fun group games like: Pancake Perfectionist NOT, Ricky the Rejecter, Squishy Toy, All Lit Up, Fried Chicken, and Ear Infection, kids will learn how amazing the “one-two” punch of perseverance can result in amazing opportunities. We will also explore when it is not appropriate to persevere. We will enjoy a cup of “decked out” party punch at the end of class to celebrate our new skills. This is a drop off class. Whack a Worry! Life Coaching for Kids
AGES: 6 - 13 years Worrying and feeling anxious is on the rise and is considered one of America’s TOP health problems. While there’s no miracle quick “fix”, this class has the potential to be a transformational kick-off to managing it and building self-worth! Through funny and elaborate dramatizations like: Emotion Potion, Mystery Object, 1-2-3 WHACK, Selfish Selfie, Bubble Bonanza, and more, kids will garner strategic tools to use after they depart this workshop. Don’t be surprised if they have a little bit more “pep in their step” as they walk out of class. All attendees leave with a prize to celebrate their new skills. This is a drop off class. Demystifying Clique Chaos: Life Coaching for Kids
AGES: 6 - 13 YEARS Cliques are EVERYWHERE. This class is for BOTH girls and boys….cliques can occur with either gender! How do we “fit in” when social popularity or sports cliques form? It is a horrible feeling……UNLESS your child has a self-esteem muscle developed. If they do already, we will build on that, and if they don’t, we will learn the first steps in pumping it up. While this is a serious subject, the content is presented in a high energy and motivating manner with hilarious games like: Collapsing Caitlin the Clicker, Bananas in the Lunch Room, Crickets at Night, Wet N Wild, Bubble Soccer Bobby, and more! All kids leave with a prize to celebrate their new skills. This is a drop off class. (Min/Max: 6/15). Instructor: Lisa Lombardi Coaching Inc. (Certified Professional Life Coach).
