2022 ANNUAL REPORT

Building Futures Through Housing

Letter From the Board President 05 Hearts at Work 07 History 09 Projects 12 Financials 16 Contributors 20 CONTENTS

First and foremost, I would like to thank all our donors, partners, staff, and friends for your support during 2022. All the accomplishments — the new relationships formed, community collaboration, homes built, lives impacted, and the veterans, families, and countless others who have been empowered — would not have happened without our supporters.

In 2022, we made a commitment to build four Housing for Heroes homes, each with an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) with our build partner Lennar. This was a huge undertaking, one we knew would be a challenge, but one that would be met with great reward. This commitment will take us into 2023 where we will complete these homes and provide more safe housing for veterans, which to me is a small token of gratitude for all those men and women have done for us.

In addition to these projects, the Foundation held some amazing fundraising events! These events were not only fun, but they ultimately allow us to continue the work we do. We had many record-breaking fundraising events this year — the Spring Parade of Homes Dream Homes, annual Gala, and golf tournament each exceeded our fundraising goals! We rounded off our event and fundraising efforts with our Fall Parade of Homes Dream Homes — a big success.

As I reflect on the year, it would be remiss of me not to recognize the leadership of our board of directors. I could not be prouder to be surrounded by a group of industry professionals who stood strong as we navigated the first part of the year with the vacancy of an executive director. We had the constant support of the team at Housing First Minnesota and were confident we would find the right person to fill that position and role — and boy did we ever! Jessica Ryan, our new executive director, was met with open arms and was prepared to jump right in. We are all incredibly grateful to have her leadership and expertise!

We are in a very strong position to make an even greater impact in 2023, and I am confident we will do just that, but we cannot do it alone. I invite you to join us and become a build partner, event sponsor, participate in our fundraising opportunities, and help us achieve our mission and goal to partner to build safe housing for Minnesotans in need and to end homelessness in Minnesota. Thank you!
