A Father’s Sacrificial Love
Father’s Day is a celebration of “Dad” - the special man in our life. Fathers have always provided guidance and protection over the household, and they are respected and loved for those roles within the family circle. A father sacrifices his time and hard work to provide for his family and is fully engaged in the well-being of his children. I came across this precious poem that truly defines a “Dad”: What Makes A Dad? God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle’s flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, And then there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called it - Dad. ~ author unknown Encourage your child to write a special message to their father this Father’s Day to show their appreciation and love for all the wonderful things that a daddy provides day in and day out. Remember, a dad cannot have enough ties, so be sure to add another to his collection this Father’s Day. Happy Father’s Day & Blessings,

Putting a Puzzle Piece in Place for You People often ask me what I do and how exactly I might help them. It’s a fair question considering the plethora of “wellness” experts out there! What I do is actually pretty simple: I help people figure out how to get better…how to get healthier, eat better, sleep better, run faster, climb a flight of stairs easier, play more, change jobs, lower stress, improve those health numbers that we all hear about. I listen closely to you, make some observations then we collaborate on creating a plan that you can live with. I am an intuitive person, and I can see things in you that you may not be able to see in yourself. Let’s say for example, you are being “down-sized” at work, and you recognize you need to start looking for another job. You describe your situation to me and then set some simple goals. After a few weeks of working on your goals, you haven’t made progress. However, I listen intently and pick up on something you hadn’t noticed: you are angry at your company for not valuing your 20 years of service! I reflect this back to you and this becomes your “ah-ha!” moment that gives you better direction and more energy for job-searching. Or, maybe you are feeling overwhelmed with all that is on your to-do list -you wonder how you will summon the energy to do it all. You tell me about the things you feel you must do and why you must do them, and how it makes you happy to put your family first. But as I am listening reflectively, I put a
puzzle piece in place for you: while you are staying up later to try to get more done, your lack of sleep is actually causing you to get LESS done and making you feel more worried. You hadn’t realized the impact that lack of sleep is having on you, so we talk about ways you can get more sleep – and set some goals to improve it. Now your to-do list starts to shrink. Or, let’s say you want to get to the gym more. You tell me how you loved the way you used to feel and look when you went to the gym 3 times a week. Being fit is important to you, and you are disappointed in yourself for getting out of shape. So we talk about some things in your life today that are different from your life 10 years ago (2 kids, getting older, major work stress). You set a goal to get to the gym one time in the next week; however, I can sense that roadblocks are in the way so I ask “What gym do you belong to?” You don’t. “Ah-ha!” you say, “Maybe I will set a smaller goal of finding a gym.” And then SUCCESS! You met your first goal and we move on to another simple step. I promise I won’t be like your mother or your nurse or your personal trainer. I won’t yell at you or make you feel guilty or remind you of what you’ve done wrong or tell you exactly everything you ought to do. My approach is collaborative and positive. I’ll ask you questions like “When was a time when something DID work right for you?” or “What do you LIKE to do?” or “At your best, what do envision yourself to be like?” I have helped clients get in better shape, lose weight, change jobs, prioritize the one-thousand items on a to-do list, find time to exercise, complete home-improvement projects, and more! There are so many pieces to your health, and my job is to help you put them together. — Amy Rainwaters MSOL, Simple steps to health and wellness, www.amyrainwaterscoaching.com, email amy@amyrainwaterscoaching.com, (513) 225-8206.

“I Home Church”
That’s what my Aunt Mel said to me when I was visiting at her home in Linden, Ala. a while back. I had never heard that phrase before, but I understood what she was saying, and found the humor in it. I filed it away for future reference. By default, that is what I did one Sunday morning, except I “boat churched.” Turns out there are no Sunday services on a cruise ship, at least not the one I was on at the time. There are countless options to eat, drink and be merry, but no church. So, what’s a man to do that made a commitment to not miss Sunday services for an entire year, to “arrive expectantly” every Sunday, then write about each experience? That was the question I sat down to answer before going to bed the prior Saturday night. I asked God how He wanted me to handle that one when Sunday morning arrived. Should I stream a live service? Trust him to put the right You Tube video in front of me? The right article? I had no idea. The answer I eventually received was too just show up early. So, I did. I showed up, “expectantly,” at dawn. Grabbed a cup of coffee and walked to the upper deck of the boat, which was completely empty. Just me and 200 empty lounge chairs, water as far as I could see and a glowing orange horizon. I felt very small. I sat for a while and thanked God for as many specific blessings as my mind could rattle off. Everything from new tennis shoes to the ability to walk in them. Breakfast I had not yet eaten but I knew was waiting for me, healthy kids sleeping in comfort and safety below. Then I just sat and listened. When I gave God the floor, God showed up. There is no mistaking when God shows up. None whatsoever. RJ Tanner said
it best, “It’s like lightning in my bones.” That and an un-describable peace, all at the same time. Money can’t buy it and you can’t manufacture it. Let’s back up a few weeks……… Several weeks prior, I was watching a video on you tube. Some older fellow with a slow gravelly voice and a strong message was discussing a conversation he had with a big shot CEO on the importance of making time early each day to meet with God. The big shot CEO’s response was, “I already get up at 5:00 in the morning, I am so busy, I simply don’t have time.” The fella’s slow and deliberate response to the CEO I can still here and quote word for word, “I don’t think you understand who you are meeting with…. (long pause)…. You are meeting with the God of the Universe.” The words “The God of the universe” stuck with me like glue. Then they played repeatedly in my head for days on end. That’s how I have found it works with me. Every now and then I will hear or read something that literally leaps off the page at me like it is on fire, then gets stuck in my head. I’ve found it is God preparing me for a point He is going to make in the future. They play over and over then in time, His time, God will address it in a physical tangible manner. He shows up and does something that is directly in line with the saying stuck in my head. It’s very cool. Here is how this one played out….. Several weeks prior – God put a man in front of me that referenced our ability to meet privately, at will, with “The God of The Universe.” That phrase stuck in my head and began to play continuously. Several weeks later – I found myself sitting alone on the deck of a cruise ship watching a beautiful sunrise on a Sunday morning in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. I was but a speck in comparison to the vastness in front of me, that vastness in front of me was a speck in comparison to the planet I call home, that planet is a speck in comparison to the universe, it just keeps going. The quote He planted in my mind culminated with a private meeting where God showed up to address my mortal weaknesses, and human fears, by telling me this.... “I created all of this and I created you. I have a plan for all this, and I have a plan for you. I’ve got all this…… and I’ve got you. Abide in the certainty of Me and my plan.” What an appropriate place for the creator to deliver that message. Nothing but His creation as far as the eye could see in every direction, without another soul in sight. Just He and I. Just like He had planned all along. Get in the Boat. Do your part. Keep Your Cool
Lucy’s T-Bone Steak with Jalapeno Popper Sauce
Air-conditioning is going to jack your power bill big-time. Sure, you need it this summer, but don’t set the temperature any lower than necessary. Remember: the lower the setting, the higher the bill. And besides, the cooler you keep it inside, the less heat tolerant you and your kids become. If you have central A/C, close off unused rooms and close the vents in those rooms. If you have window unit A/C, also close off unused room and only operate the A/C units in the areas you’re actually using. If you have ceiling fans, use those to keep the cool air circulating. If you don’t have ceiling fans, use oscillating fans and personal size fans to help keep you and your family cool.
Help Your Kids Be Creative
Don’t let all your kids’ entertainment this summer be structured or electronic. Check with local stores and round up a few of the largest boxes you can find. Put the boxes, your kids and a pack of washable markers outside and let them use their imaginations to create their own playthings out of the boxes. Tell them to mark any places they want cut for windows, doors or other openings and you can supervise that part of their projects.
Freez’em
Freeze kid-size bottles of water or flavored drink mix for your kids to take outside. As they play, the drink will slowly thaw, allowing them to have a cool drink on hand for quite a while.
Fabulous Homemade Barbeue Sauce
Once you start making this, you’ll never buy barbecue sauce again. You’ll need: (1) 2 cups of ketchup; (2) 2 cups of apple cider vinegar; (3) 1 ½ cups of brown sugar; (4) 1 tsp. of salt; (5) ½ teaspoon of each – garlic powder, onion powder and Tabasco or other hot sauce. In a saucepan, mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. If you aren’t planning to use the sauce immediately or you have unused sauce left over, store it in a glass jar in the fridge. (Double or triple the recipe and process canning jars in boiling water so you can seal the sauce for shelf storage or to give as gifts.)

“You must not have any other god but Me” (Ex 20:3, NLT). While other languages have a variety of words to choose from, we Americans tend to “love” everything: our families; our cars; our houses; our pets; our clothes; our jewelry; and the list goes on. Why not make a change? Stop carelessly using “love.” Teach your children the importance and value of what it really means. Reserve it for the Lord and those you highly value in your life. — Judy Woodward Bates Want Judy to speak to your church, civic organization, or ladies’ group? Since the final season of Duck Dynasty aired three years ago, family patriarch Phil Robertson has been shocked by the number of people still hoping for a taste of West Monroe, Louisiana preaching and an Ouiachita River baptism. When fans find him (and find him, they do), he invites them for a meal and then uses the book of Acts as a guide for the rest of their day. “If you had seen the mighty throng since Duck Dynasty that we’ve baptized, you’d be stunned,” Robertson says, noting it’s not unusual for him to perform a marriage on the same day. “We explain to them how serious marriage is, so we marry ‘em right here on the living room floor. Then we share the Gospel with them… [and] take ‘em down by the river... and they go on their way rejoicing.” It’s a momentary glimpse into the Robertson’s life: simplicity, Scripture, family, nature. In a way, it’s the antithesis to the violence and immorality Robertson says is destroying mainstream America.
“Logically, I don’t really see the downside for a family structure to be together and the overarching verse that they live by is love God and love your neighbor. That’s what I instill in my sons and that’s what I go around telling America,” says author and Duck Dynasty family patriarch Phil Robertson seen here with his family including wife Kay (at left) and four sons Willie Robertson, Jase, Jules and Alan (above).
In his new book The Theft of America’s Soul (Thomas Nelson), Robertson responds to the In their time encouraging inmates in pris1966 Time cover that posed the ons, Phil Robertson says he and wife Miss question “Is God Dead?” When Kay have witnessed how growing up with a he saw the magazine as a college “splintered” family structure can result in student, the question reflected chaos as a young adult. dialogue he had heard among peers and professors at Louisiana Tech University. It was suggested that rejecting a belief in God would free man to be his own judge, define his own truth and virtues, change laws that seem inconvenient, and chase self-gratification. It’s this very way of thinking, Robertson writes, that primed our country for mass acts of violence and celebration of sexual sin. It’s the same way of thinking that drove him to “the drugs, the drinking, the sleeping around” that devastated his family in his early 20s. And yet the freedom he was chasing only led to a prison of shame.

During the writing and production of his book, Robertson witnessed media coverage of the mass shooting from a Las Vegas high-rise hotel, the dismissal of Matt Lauer from NBC’s Today Show, and a violent neo-Nazi march in Charlottesville, West Virginia. In response, Robertson recalls John, Chapter 8, when Jesus hints that his Jewish opponents in the temple courts are doing the work of Satan, not the work of God. Many Americans think they are committed to something important, but they don’t quite know who they are working for, Robertson says. “It’s not the human beings that we’re wrestling with, it’s the evil one in them. He’s the father of lies; he’s the father of murder. We’ve killed 60 million of our own children in their mother’s womb. It’s the lies the evil one whispers in our ears: Make it legal! Make it legal! In The Theft of America’s Soul, one of Robertson’s most powerful charges to readers comes at the end of Chapter 4, on appreciating God as the creator of all life: “Partner with the Almighty in tending to life…. as you see the beauty of God in his nature, recognize the beauty in the life of your fellow man also. See how he was created in the image of God.” Walking alone in the woods, watching deer run through a trail, Robertson says, it’s hard to sin. “We’re down here on the river, and among us, we never hear any profanity, we never hear fits of rage--nothing, zero. We’re withdrawn somewhat, but we’re still reaching a lot of people in a public way... we’re still getting the Gospel preached.” In a way, he writes later, “sin management in isolation is easy.”

The 5 White Brain Damaging Foods Part 1 They kill your brain cells, point blank. Over time, brain fog, lack of memory, and additional cognitive impairment leading to Alzheimer’s and other dementias pursues. What are “they”? The 5 white brain damaging foods. These include: 1) white wheat flour 2) white rice 3) white corn (yes it is white when processed, when the skin is removed) 4) white potato and 5) white sugar All of the above damage, stop or even kill the neurotransmitter communication between your gut brain (the gastrointestinal tract or GI tract) and your head brain (the Central Nervous System). With no communication, the cells in both brains die. Here’s how the killing spree begins: It starts with gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye and barley. Some perspective. We humans have nearly 23,000 genes in our bodies. Guess how many wheat gluten has? The answer: around 150,000. So, in a nutshell, we can’t digest gluten, which essentially eats us, not the reverse.

According to Alessio Fasano, M.D., the father of ‘no gluten’, Harvard scientist and author of book, Gluten Freedom, whether you are a celiac disease victim or not, gluten dissolves the lining of every consumer’s small intestine allowing partially digested foods to seep out of the intestine into gut tissues, eventually ending up in your blood. Your immune system is called in to attack these invading, partially digested food particles. Think of it this way, your immune system is constantly in attack mode whenever you eat: • cereal for breakfast • a donut for morning snack • a sandwich for lunch, along with crackers and pretzels for an afternoon snack • a roll with dinner or • a cookie for a midnight snack Do this every day, 365 days a year, for all of your life (but hopefully not beyond this reading) …and your immune system never rests. It just sort of goes mad, crazy, it eats up all the invading chemicals and with no rest eventually eats up the good healthy cells too. This is called chronic inflammation or hyper inflammation. Gluten eventually gets into your blood, eats the lin-
ing of the blood vessels and breaks the blood head brain barrier where these undigested particles seep out into your brain, depositing toxins and other invading chemicals. The head brain’s own separate immune system (the glyphatic system) is then called into action to flush out these foreign invaders. BUT, it too goes mad, resulting in hyper inflammation and killing more head brain cells, the good and the bad. Additionally, the blood bowel barrier is also broken where foreign invaders run rampant and hyper inflammation ensues (no one ever talks about that---hello IBS, hemorrhoids, constant diarrhea or other elimination troubles!) The solution and the near instant reversal of such problems? Give up the gluten! Tune in next month where we will explore the other four White Brain Damaging Foods. — Janet Rich Pittman Brain Health Specialist Former Dementia Administrator and Practitioner www.JanetRichPittman.com, Janet@ JanetRichPittman.com

“I just wanted to let you know the results of a letter sent for us on our behalf by [our provider law firm]. After what we felt was a breach of contract with a company that my husband was recently working for, [our provider law firm] consulted with us, reviewed our documents and then sent a letter for us demanding compensation. Two weeks later, we received a check from the company for $6,814.90 for vacation pay not yet taken, as agreed upon in the contract. Also, as it turns out, because we know what our rights are from the advice given by [our provider law firm], we can still go after the company for another $4,500.00 where they had illegally deducted worker’s safety benefits from my husband’s check. Because LegalShield Provider Law Firm informed us of our rights, we made another phone call to a certain government department where they will investigate this company and force them to pay back my husband’s that this company deducted from his pay $4,500.00 That’s a total of $11,314.00 we would have walked away from, had we not had our LegalShield membership. The only legal fee to us was our monthly LegalShield membership which has now been paid for the next 26 years! Thank you LegalShield for your courage and wisdom in making Equal Access to the justice system a reality for all. And thank you [our provider law firm] for your diligent assistance in this matter.” — This is one example representing cases of resolved consumer legal issues all handled by our Dedicated Network of LegalShield Provider Law Firms. Why Leveraging an IRA Can Help You Save Smarter for Retirement. Are you confident you have enough saved for retirement? And do you feel like your money choices reflect your faith, heart and habits? These are challenging questions that may require you to explore your decisions and figure out what, for you and your loved ones, is ultimately enough. For many, retirement is on the horizon, but they are unclear about how to prepare for it. According to a recent national survey, three in 10 workers report feeling mentally or emotionally stressed about preparing for retirement.1 Yet at the same time, only six in 10 workers say they have saved for retirement and only four in 10 have tried to figure out how much money they’ll need for retirement.2 Working with a financial representative can help you evaluate your savings options. In addition to contributing to an employer-sponsored plan, there are other savings vehicles to help boost your level of income in retirement. An IRA, for example, can provide valuable tax advantages, offer greater growth potential over time and allow for higher contribution limits as you age. Let’s break it down: Tax advantages: If you have a traditional IRA and contribute the maximum each year, you can take advantage of tax-deferred opportunities to help you get closer to your retirement goals. For example, you could potentially lower your adjusted gross income by the amount you contribute. Doing so could mean you have more money available to help you reach your near-term goals. Growth potential: Contributing to an IRA is an excellent way to leverage the power of compounding. With the more money you put in, the more your contribution has the potential to grow at an increasing rate, and the more money you ultimately have once you reach retirement. Higher contribution limits over time: Another benefit of an IRA is it allows for higher contribution limits as you age. Once you’re 50, for example, federal IRA rules stipulate you can contribute beyond the annual limit. These are known as catch-up contributions and can give your savings a big overall boost. If you’re interested in exploring IRAs, it would be wise to consult a financial representative who can share the options and help you identify what would work best given your unique financial situation. Planning ahead can lead to greater confidence and a sense of security that you have enough to live the way you want in your retirement. — Christina Gibson (251) 281-7312 Financial Associates, Thrivent Financial. Constipation & Diarrhea There is a large part of the population in this country that has problems with their colon on a monthly and yearly basis. This is due to faulty diet and lack of organic minerals which ruin the colon. Constipation is a larger problem than diarrhea due to the large amounts of meats and white flour being consumed on a daily basis. Beef and pork take an average of 5-7 days to clear the colon and white flour can take up to 7-10 years, neither is good nor healthy. When one has constipation there are many things one should look at and the meat and white flour should be the first to go, for good! Start drinking more good alkaline water with a pH of at least a 7.4, then eliminate all meats and flour until you start to have normal bowel movements again. All people should have at least two healthy bowel movements per day in order to really be healthy. Most people in this country barely have one and it’s not good. Everyone should be on a great Vitamin, Mineral and Amino Acid supplement to help get this in the body on a normal and healthy basis. If one is still constipated after eliminating this for about 10 days, then you will need something to help you out, Naturally! Upon awakening drink 8oz prune juice and drink again at 3pm. Take 600 mg of magnesium aspartate/oxide pre bed with 8oz water. Follow this until you start to have normal healthy bowel movements and then you may stop. Continue taking Magnesium with your other minerals in a combined form, all 22 on a daily basis for best overall results of the human body. Diarrhea like constipation is caused from its own problems along with lack of certain minerals and too much toxins in the body or sometimes a virus. If it’s viral and you know this for sure then take 500 ppm – 2000ppm of elemental silver like my Pro-Silver 500 or 2000 once daily in the am and 5 d of LDM-100 (herb) 3 x daily 15 min pre meals, until the virus is gone. These two products will kill all infections and viruses. If your diarrhea is not related to a virus then do one of these two. Crush a few fresh radishes to squeeze out the juice. Drink a cup of the juice 2 x daily. Or Peel 2 cloves garlic and crush them. Add 2 tsp of brown sugar and boil the two in 8oz water. Drink this 2 x daily, morning and evening. Remember your diet along with proper supplementation is everything and your body knows what it needs, you just have to supply it with what it needs on a daily basis and you won’t have health problems. God created your body to be healthy always. In the nutrition field we always teach people that death ends and begins in the colon. Let’s get that colon healthy! — Dr. Jimmy Steger N.D., PH.D., DNM Naturopath, Nutritionist & Iridologist 4412 Government Blvd, Mobile (251) 660-1240, www.drsteger.net

B e st B OOKs Summer reading lists are not just for the kids! Long flights, beach trips, car rides, and mountain vacations all call for a stack of books. I always love to hear what people are reading during their spare time. Here are my top 4 picks for this summer’s bookshelf: 1. With This Pledge by Tamera Alexander. I love fiction that teaches something about history and the people in it. Tamera Alexander does a beautiful job of painting a picture of the setting and developing the characters in such a way that you feel as if the characters are your friends. This book is set in the South during the Civil War and The Battle of Franklin. The details are real and gruesome and not for the faint of heart, but the characters are based on real people who experienced it first-hand and found love and courage in the midst of it. Once you begin, you will not be able to put it down, but you will not want the story to end. 2. Nate Saint by Janet and Geoff Benge. Most of us have heard of Nate Saint and know the tragic way in which his story progressed, but this biography highlights Nate’s drive and passion for flying and for the gospel in a way I had not read before. The audio book is especially riveting, and I cried visible tears traveling down the interstate as I listened to the final chapters. If it does for you as it did for me, it will create a new passion for and perspective on missions and on whatever work you do.
3. Waiting on God by Andrew Murray. Andrew Murray wrote several Christian classics, but this one is my favorite. During college, I travelled extensively. I remember being on one of my first trips and thinking that for the first time, it was just me and God. I read this book, and it had a tremendous impact on my life. It changed my perspective of walking with God and of waiting on His perfect timing. Whatever your stage of life, I am sure it will bless you as you walk with the Lord. 4. Crazy Busy by Kevin DeYoung. When asked how you are, who doesn’t reply “busy”? It has become our standard answer, but even as we say it, we know that it’s normal and wonder how it got to be that way. Kevin DeYoung takes it a step deeper than I had ever considered. The root of busyness could be something far more concerning than we imagine when we take a glance at our crammed daily planners. Crazy Busy is incredibly practical as it points the reader toward the deep spiritual issues that drive our motives as we say “Yes” and “No” to the myriad of commitments with which we are faced every day. — Summer Schor
When I Pray for You
Once upon a time, long, long ago, children were brought before a rabbi to be blessed. His followers were aghast, for surely their teacher had more important things to do. He had sermons to proclaim, blind folk to cure, and oppressed souls to deliver. After his followers rebuked the parents for their impertinence, the rabbi drew near, visibly angry over the disruption. Clearly, someone was about to have a bad day. To the surprise of the disciples, the rabbi did not turn his attention to the presumptuous parents and their toddlers. Jesus fixed his gaze on the twelve and tore into them, essentially telling them that children were closer to the kingdom than they were. Then he blessed all the children, one by one. It was a good day in the kingdom of God. As followers of Jesus, blessing children is part of our calling in this world. We are to teach them, pray over them and love them as God loves them. One of the In addition to writing When I Pray for You, author and journalist Matthew Paul Turner has travelled globally for National Geographic’s show, “The Story of God with Morgan Freeman.”

many ways we can fulfill this calling is by reading to them. If you're looking for a new book to bless a child with, When I Pray for You (Waterbrook) is one I strongly recommend. Written by Matthew Paul Turner and illustrated by Kimberley Barnes, When I Pray for You is a delightful book, celebrating the hopes we have for our children as they discover their place in the kingdom of Jesus. The writing is lyrical and playful, but surprisingly moving and substantive. Both parent and child are spiritually enhanced by the sentiments expressed in this lovely book. “I pray you grow strong, have passion and fight. And stand up for what's good with all of your might. I pray heaven protects you, that you're generous and kind. That your brave little spirit never ceases to shine. I pray you love others, whether strangers or friends, with the same kind of love that God feels for them.” Prayers such as these express our deepest and most profound hopes, yet they are simple enough for even a child to comprehend. Of such is the kingdom of God. — Darrel Holcombe

Owe Back Taxes to the IRS?
The Pros and Cons of Using a Tax Resolution Service Three of the most frightening words in the English language are Internal Revenue Service. Few government agencies can strike fear into the heart of citizens like the IRS, and the tax agency enjoys powers most parts of the government do not have. Unlike those other government agencies, the IRS can garnish your wages, freeze your bank accounts and seize your property. If you owe money to the IRS, doing nothing is simply not an option. But should you negotiate with the agency on your own, or is hiring a tax resolution expert the better choice? Lets dive into the pro’s and con’s of hiring a tax relief firm so you can decide for yourself.
The Benefits of a Tax Resolution Service
If you owe back taxes to the IRS, there are some definite benefits to hiring a tax resolution service. These companies exist for a reason, and they can provide a way out for taxpayers who feel overwhelmed by the whole process. Here are some of the biggest benefits of working with a tax resolution service.
#1 You will not have to deal with the IRS directly. No one likes deal-
ing with the IRS, and when you work with a tax resolution service, YOU DON’T. You interact solely with the tax resolution service, and they deal with the IRS on your behalf.
#2 You gain years of expertise. The best tax resolution services are staffed
individuals with a deep knowledge of the tax code and how it works. This
specific knowledge could be the key to getting the best deal, one that saves you money while avoiding the wrath of the IRS.
#3 It could help you resolve your tax issues more quickly. Having an
IRS problem hanging over your head is stressful and unpleasant, and the sooner you get it resolved, the better. Engaging with a tax resolution company could help you resolve your IRS problems faster, so you can get on with the rest of your life.
#4 You could strike a better deal. Negotiating with the IRS on your own can be intimidating, and the tax agency may not offer you the best terms. Tax resolution services are used to dealing with the IRS, and they may be able to drive a better bargain.
The Potential Drawbacks of Tax Resolution
Working with a tax resolution service makes sense on many levels, and taxpayers can enjoy a number of important benefits in the process. Even so, there are some potential pitfalls to working with such a company, and you need to weigh the pros and cons yourself. Here are some of the possible drawbacks of working with a tax resolution company.
#1 You will typically have to pay a fee. Nothing in life is free, including
tax resolution services. You will generally need to pay a fee for these services. If you owe less than $10,000 then it might make more sense to handle the case on your own.
#2 Not all companies are reputable. The world of tax resolution services
can be a difficult one to negotiate, and not all services can deliver what they claim. It is important to do your homework and choose your tax resolution provider with care.
#3 It can take time for your case to be resolved. While some tax problems can be resolved almost instantly, others could take months, maybe even years to work through. Whether you hire a tax resolution service or not, you need to be prepared for a long journey. Angela M. Cooper Attorney at Law

#4 You will be giving up some control. When you hand your tax problems off to a third party, you also hand off control of your tax situation. This can also be liberating knowing that someone else has your back and their job is to help you find tax relief. Whether you receive a big tax bill instead of the expected refund or owe thousands of dollars in back taxes from an audit, dealing with the IRS is no fun. The desire to hand that task off to an expert is certainly understandable, and in many cases, it is the best move you could make. Now that you know the pros and cons of working with a tax resolution service, you can make the wise choice - and put your tax problems behind you. — Angela M Cooper Disclaimer: We are a debt relief agency. Is My Marriage in Trouble?
As a licensed therapist, I work with many couples who seek counseling for marital conflict. Most are unable to recognize the point their relationship became dysfunctional. Below are four common symptoms that will progressively sabotage the marital relationship if left unmanaged. LESS COMMUNICATION: As we all know, lack of communication will result in relationship failure. But failure to communicate is often not intentional in the early stages of marital troubles. Sometimes life can come at us so quickly that we minimize the importance of consciously making the efforts to communicate. A lack of communication leads to quick assumptions and impulsive responses that can eventually tank the marital relationship. Suggestion - You and your spouse will need to commit to a daily check-in routine. Use this time wisely to discuss the “Wows and Pows” of your day and reaffirm the support you have for each other. Failure to check-in and reconnect with each other will cause you to drift toward the next symptom. PULLING AWAY: Effective communication allows partners to continue to build a mental, emotional, and spiritual intimacy with each other. Barriers in communication will open the doors for a disconnect in their intimacy. Once disconnection begins, we are no longer in sync. Partners will become off balanced losing interest in each other, becoming unaware of the each other’s needs, and losing the ability to even recognize or manage any of the relationship needs. Suggestion - Once you begin to recognize that outside circumstances are taking precedent over your relationship, address this immediately with your partner. The two of you will need to take the action steps needed to jump start your interest and realign your focus on the relationship goals. If you choose to ignore these signs and continue to avoid spending quality time with each other, then prepare for the next level of marital conflict.
EASILY IRRITATED: The “blame” game intensifies when everyday life situations are not managed to the expectations of one or both partners in the relationship. Finances, child-rearing, household duties, even dinner can become the source of major conflict. The couple no longer has the ability to problem solve and are just simply, getting on each other’s nerves. Remember that early sign of “lack of communication”, well now it has progressed to a pattern of “poor communication” resulting in a continuous cycle of quick assumptions and impulsive responses. Because the couple now individually feels unappreciated, isolated, or even attacked in the relationship and neither has properly addressed this issue with their partner, no efforts are being made to resolve these conflicts. Suggestion - At this point, marriage counseling is highly recommended. The couple will need help to learn their dysfunctional part in the breakdown of this marriage. They will need to learn how to take responsibility for their actions and learn effective conflict resolution skills to help move the relationship forward. Failure to take action will result in this continued downward spiral into the next stage of deprivation. Choosing to move forward with the marriage after experiencing such a crisis will take courage and commitment from both of them. But together, the couple will be able to create (and most importantly maintain) the loving and romantic relationship that they so desire to have. — Veronica Davis Veronica Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions Therapist. More on AL-TF1 K9: A team of dedicated volunteers that train weekly to be the best search and rescue team that we can be. The dogs are our personal pets but when they go to work - watch out! They love their job and we love being on the other end of the leash! We train for what is called ‘Urban Search and Rescue.’ What this means is that our dogs are trained to find people that are trapped or buried in rubble from collapsed buildings or structures. While it is a serious task, the dogs love what they do! We will be demonstrating some of the skills that a Search K9 must have in order to achieve certification and be deployment-ready. These skills include obedience, agility, direction and control, and of course...search skills!
