Hello February, hello Valentines Day, National Day, and of course Liberation Day! What a bittersweet time to be alive. Our cover this month reminds us to stay connected with our culture and heritage, because our roots bind us. Thouq and Thouq Studio so graciously collaborated with us to present this beautiful limited run print as our February issue cover! Titled Sadu Kuwait, the digital print pays homage to traditional Sadu art, presenting symbols from everyday Kuwaiti life, as well as digitally pixelating the traditional pattern. Sadu Kuwait is a melange between past, present and future, reflective of the contemporary studio’s approach to its various works in Kuwait.
